Happy Holiday Resort, Rapid City, South Dakota

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

DO NOT STAY HERE if you have a big rig (42+ft). Spaces are so tight that multiple attempts required to get in. Front desk person did not seem to know what was available and had little to no sense of urgency. Moved 3 times before found a site that was large enough with power working. Person outside assisting was helpful, but parking and waiting in between spaces took over an hour. Lots of dust kicked up by vehicles on end sites. Will not stay here again. We camped at Happy Holiday Resort in a Motorhome.

St. Louis West / Historic Route 66 KOA, Eureka, Missouri

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Good sized spaces for big rigs, friendly owners. Location is actually in Pacific, not Eureka, and address is I44 Business Loop. We found this out when we had to call after our GPS would not accept the posted address. Restaurants and businesses nearby on Historic Route 66. Facility close to Six Flags. We camped at St. Louis West / Historic Route 66 KOA in a Motorhome.

Salina KOA, Salina, Kansas

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Good for overnight parking. Sites were partially muddy because it had rained the night before, however, concrete pads were there. Decent sized spaces. Lots of potholes on the main road leading into the campground, but location is convenient to I-70. Truck stop with truck and RV wash just down the street from the park. We would stay here again. We camped at Salina KOA in a Motorhome.

Cherry Creek State Park, Aurora, Colorado

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

Very spacious sites tucked back into the park, which is not visible from main road. Park rangers were very nice and helpful. Host motorhome campers on site made us feel comfortable and secure. GPS did not take us to correct address. From 225 South, take Exit 4 and follow Parker Road. Go to 1st traffic light on Parker Road after exit 4,(Lehigh Road) turn right into park road. Park sign was somewhat hidden on the road, and the road into the park and ranger station is long and winds. Except for lack of rain that caused brown grass, the park is nice and well maintained. We would definitely stay there again. We camped at Cherry Creek State Park in a Motorhome.

San Francisco North / Petaluma KOA, Petaluma, California

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $62.00
Overall Rating:

Large park which is great for families and children. Fun for kids, but dangerous in terms of children riding bicycles everywhere with no regard for oncoming cars. Traveled in big rig, spaces were short and not totally level, but worked out just fine. Many people got confused about which direction to turn, to get to their spaces. Loud music and karaoke on weekends until 9:30-10:00 pm. If you are parked across from this area and don't like loud music, plan to go out. Excellent location for visiting Petaluma and surrounding areas. We camped at San Francisco North / Petaluma KOA in a Motorhome.

Visalia / Sequoia National Park KOA, Visalia, California

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $53.00
Overall Rating:

Friendly staff, nice park. Gravel roads, big spaces and wide roads for big rigs. Appears to be very family friendly and convenient to highway. Don't be disturbed by neighborhood homes with barbed wire fences which you may drive past, the park is good. Excellent restaurants in Visalia. Ate at Fugazzi's Italian and Valhalla for Danish pancakes! We camped at Visalia / Sequoia National Park KOA in a Motorhome.

Desert View RV Resort, Needles, California

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Nice looking park with hedges in between sites which was nice, but made it tight. Resort check in handled by woman in golf cart who appeared miserable from the heat. Gravel sites with concrete picnic pads, but no tables. OK place to stay, but nothing special. We camped at Desert View RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Willamette Wine Country RV Park (monthly only), Dayton, Oregon

Date of Stay: July, 2012 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

Friendly park personnel. 40 ft. motorhome just fit in space with no room for car. Car parking had to be angled and stuck out on the aisle. Parked in party room parking area most of the time with no problem. Gorgeous view of vineyard on a hill from our spot. Car and motorhome washing was allowed. Location was not too far from McMinnville and was convenient to Hwy. 99. We camped at Willamette Wine Country RV Park (monthly only) in a Motorhome.

Premier RV Resorts of Eugene Oregon, Coburg, Oregon

Date of Stay: July, 2012 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

Convenient location to Eugene/Springfield. Close to shopping, Costco, restaurants, and gas. Gas station for diesel and propane right next door. We have a big rig and space facing lake was very comfortable. Only park that we have encountered with RV washing area with hose, very convenient. Only drawback was freeway noise, which did not really bother us. Convenient to Interstate 5. Spaces not on the water were decent but closer together. Friendly staff. We camped at Premier RV Resorts of Eugene Oregon in a Motorhome.

Crown Villa RV Resort, Bend, Oregon

Date of Stay: June, 2012 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

This is one of the best parks we have ever been in. Clean, wide, spacious sites, paved patios, friendly and helpful staff. We have a 40 foot rig and the sites are so large that there was no problem. Location is close to downtown and very convenient. We wish that all parks were this nice. We would have extended our time after being here if they could have accommodated us. We camped at Crown Villa RV Resort in a Motorhome.
