Virginia's Beach Campground, North Springfield, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

We were so excited to camp on Lake Erie and enjoyed the beauty of the lake but this campground needs a little work for what they charge. The gravel road coming into the park needs a lot of work. It is very rough. I wish they would allow a rug to be put out since you are parked on grass. We brought dead grass in every time we went out. Also the garbage container that sat right behind us needs to be moved. It smelled so bad we couldn't sit outside. Our 30 amp voltage was very bad. We had no Verizon cell or WiFi service. Shower house needs updating. Probably wouldn't return. We camped at Virginia's Beach Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Kankakee South KOA, Chebanse, Illinois

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

One of the nicest KOAs we have stayed in. Other reviewers compared the park to a state park and I would have to agree. Out in the country so it is very quiet with many big trees. Can't use satellite for that reason. Sites are well spaced for a KOA. Staff is extremely helpful and friendly. We needed a little help with a tree issue when we pulled into our site and Dakota stayed with us until we got it solved. People in the park are so friendly. We would definitely return. We camped at Kankakee South KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Very expensive for a gravel pull through site. As most KOAs the sites are very close together. Trees need to be trimmed. Wouldn't return. We camped at Rock Island / Quad Cities KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Riverside East COE, Burlington, Kansas

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

This is an old COE park that could use some TLC. We stayed in one of the few 50AMP pull-thru sites which worked great. Site was very long and level. All sites are walk-in sites and camp host from the West park came to collect our fee. Park was close to being empty so it was very quiet. The road through the park is very narrow and in some spots have a bad drop-off. Also trees close to the road need to be trimmed. We would stay here again. We camped at Riverside East COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Oasis RV Resort, Amarillo, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Staff work very hard to make you feel welcomed. Laundry, shower/restrooms very clean. We have stayed the last two years on our way north and will be back. One observation - some dog owners are to lazy to pick up after their dogs on the rocks along side RV's. In some areas it is pretty disgusting. We camped at Oasis RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Love staying at this state park. Sites are spacious and nice hiking. First time we have taken a tour in the caves. Very nice experience in the beautiful cave. You must have reservations far in advance. Can't wait to go back. We camped at Kartchner Caverns State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Elephant Butte Lake State Park, Lions Beach Campground, Elephant Butte, New Mexico

Date of Stay: February, 2018 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed in Desert Cove loop. First time in this park. Absolutely loved in! This is what a state park should look like. So many places to hike. Beautiful setting, sites nicely spaced. We felt very private. We will be back. We camped at Elephant Butte Lake State Park, Lions Beach Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Rusty's RV Ranch, Rodeo, New Mexico

Date of Stay: February, 2018 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

We picked this park because of its high ratings. The park was ok but not the rating it was getting. We had a bad experience on our arrival with the site we were taken to. We asked to be moved but no other site was available. Probably this turned us off immediately. The pros on this park is it sits out in no where land so it can be peaceful. Some of the sites are spaced nicely. Nice walking trail on the perimeter of the park. Close to Coronado National Forest for great hiking. Cons: Our site's patio faced our neighbor's patio so we had no privacy. One toilet/shower room that was in the recreation room. Washer worked great, dryers did not. We wished we would have know ahead of time that they had a half a park of construction workers staying there. Nothing against workers but their idea of "camping" is different than the people who are traveling. For Rusty's advertising of the peace and quietness of their park the drinking and partying right out your door makes for a very uncomfortable week. We would not return to Rusty's. We camped at Rusty's RV Ranch in a Fifth Wheel.

Farm Island Recreation Area, Pierre, South Dakota

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

This is such a nice state park. The sites are spaced great and so many of the sites have a lake view. The down side is the dog owners. On our arrival the Ranger told us that up to April 1st they don't require dog owners to use leashes. That is too bad because people just take advantage of rules like this. We were there after the 1st and people came out in the evening and let their dogs run as they drove alongside them in a car. Also people played with their kids on the playground as the dogs were allowed to run freely. Many campers didn't have their dogs tied up so as we tried to walk our dog we had dogs running after us. Also you can not allow dogs to run free and not expect the park to be full of dog poop. This is such a nice park, but a very bad policy. We camped at Farm Island Recreation Area in a Fifth Wheel.

The Vineyard at Fredericksburg RV Park (formerly Quiet Creek RV Resort, Fredericksburg, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2016 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

This park is only about 6 months old and I believe it has great potential. Right now it has many new small trees and some grass. The dog park is excellent and kept very clean. We didn't use the laundry. The park was conveniently located close to Fredericksburg which made it nice. The price was a little high but comparable to other parks in the area. The owners were very nice and helpful. We would most certainly return to this park when in Fredericksburg area. We camped at The Vineyard at Fredericksburg RV Park (formerly Quiet Creek RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tolsona Wilderness Campground , Glennallen, Alaska

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

During our two month Alaska trip we rate this RV park the best private campground we stayed at. Other than those few mosquitoes this place is beautiful. Every site is right on the creek. If you don't like the sound of a running creek at night and no traffic noise you probably shouldn't stay here. We set up our screen house and enjoyed the lovely creek and a nice fire. We camped at Tolsona Wilderness Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Congdon Creek Campground (Yukon Government), Destruction Bay, Yukon

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $12.00
Overall Rating:

Another beautiful Yukon government park! Loved our site tucked in the trees but still able to see a little of the lake. We had two grizzly bears run past our site which was exciting and scary. Pit toilets were immaculate. We loved the free fire wood for cooking over. We camped at Congdon Creek Campground (Yukon Government) in a Truck Camper.

What a beautiful park! We were so surprised there were so few campers in the park. Huge sites in private wooded settings. Only had pit toilets but they were immaculate. Free fire wood was a nice plus on a chilly day. Gorgeous water falls with extremely nice boardwalk. We camped at Million Dollar Falls Campground (Yukon Government) in a Truck Camper.

Kluane RV Kampground, Haines Junction, Yukon

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

This is the worst park we stayed at during our Alaska/Canada two month trip. Showers were disgusting. Bathrooms were disgusting. We were camped next to the dump station where there was only one water faucet for both cleaning out the sewer hose and filling the clean water tank. We watched as a RV cleaned out the sewer hose with the water hose and then the next RV use the same hose to fill their water. Yuck! There were several drunken parties in the park and nothing was done. You have to carry your garbage out of park. No garbage containers and bags of garbage are stack by office. Drive by this park. There are better options. We camped at Kluane RV Kampground in a Truck Camper.

Winton Woods Campground, Cincinnati, Ohio

Date of Stay: April, 2013 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

We love Winton Woods Campground and have stayed here many times over the last seven years. Our usual stay is 14 days at a time and we prefer the back-in 50 amp sites but have stayed in the 30 amp just electric sites also. Unlike the previous review, we think there are many lake view sites. They just aren't in the 50 amp area. Site 24 is our favorite 30 amp site with a wonderful view of the water. As full-timers we find the sites to be spaced a nice distance apart. If you are looking for privacy, I think that is hard to find in any campground unless it is a state park. One thing that I would have to complain about is the garbage left behind at the sites and in the fire pits. In our last two stays, we picked large pieces of glass out of the fire pit and had to rake up garbage from the previous camper. We also found some of the staff to be very rude and unfriendly. The exception to that is park manager.. Very helpful and nice manager. We will continue to stay here. We camped at Winton Woods Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
