Farm Island Recreation Area, Pierre, South Dakota

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

This is such a nice state park. The sites are spaced great and so many of the sites have a lake view. The down side is the dog owners. On our arrival the Ranger told us that up to April 1st they don't require dog owners to use leashes. That is too bad because people just take advantage of rules like this. We were there after the 1st and people came out in the evening and let their dogs run as they drove alongside them in a car. Also people played with their kids on the playground as the dogs were allowed to run freely. Many campers didn't have their dogs tied up so as we tried to walk our dog we had dogs running after us. Also you can not allow dogs to run free and not expect the park to be full of dog poop. This is such a nice park, but a very bad policy. We camped at Farm Island Recreation Area in a Fifth Wheel.

Quiet Creek RV Resort, Fredericksburg, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2016 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

This park is only about 6 months old and I believe it has great potential. Right now it has many new small trees and some grass. The dog park is excellent and kept very clean. We didn't use the laundry. The park was conveniently located close to Fredericksburg which made it nice. The price was a little high but comparable to other parks in the area. The owners were very nice and helpful. We would most certainly return to this park when in Fredericksburg area. We camped at Quiet Creek RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

A must see is Enchanted Rock State Park. Great hiking area on a cooler day. LBJ Ranch is another must see site. A tour of the ranch house was only $3.00 a person.

Tolsona Wilderness Campground , Glennallen, Alaska

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

During our two month Alaska trip we rate this RV park the best private campground we stayed at. Other than those few mosquitoes this place is beautiful. Every site is right on the creek. If you don't like the sound of a running creek at night and no traffic noise you probably shouldn't stay here. We set up our screen house and enjoyed the lovely creek and a nice fire. We camped at Tolsona Wilderness Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Congdon Creek Campground (Yukon Government), Destruction Bay, Yukon

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $12.00
Overall Rating:

Another beautiful Yukon government park! Loved our site tucked in the trees but still able to see a little of the lake. We had two grizzly bears run past our site which was exciting and scary. Pit toilets were immaculate. We loved the free fire wood for cooking over. We camped at Congdon Creek Campground (Yukon Government) in a Truck Camper.

Million Dollar Falls Campground (Yukon Government), Haines Junction, Yukon

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $12.00
Overall Rating:

What a beautiful park! We were so surprised there were so few campers in the park. Huge sites in private wooded settings. Only had pit toilets but they were immaculate. Free fire wood was a nice plus on a chilly day. Gorgeous water falls with extremely nice boardwalk. We camped at Million Dollar Falls Campground (Yukon Government) in a Truck Camper.

Kluane RV Kampground, Haines Junction, Yukon

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

This is the worst park we stayed at during our Alaska/Canada two month trip. Showers were disgusting. Bathrooms were disgusting. We were camped next to the dump station where there was only one water faucet for both cleaning out the sewer hose and filling the clean water tank. We watched as a RV cleaned out the sewer hose with the water hose and then the next RV use the same hose to fill their water. Yuck! There were several drunken parties in the park and nothing was done. You have to carry your garbage out of park. No garbage containers and bags of garbage are stack by office. Drive by this park. There are better options. We camped at Kluane RV Kampground in a Truck Camper.

Winton Woods Campground, Cincinnati, Ohio

Date of Stay: April, 2013 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

We love Winton Woods Campground and have stayed here many times over the last seven years. Our usual stay is 14 days at a time and we prefer the back-in 50 amp sites but have stayed in the 30 amp just electric sites also. Unlike the previous review, we think there are many lake view sites. They just aren't in the 50 amp area. Site 24 is our favorite 30 amp site with a wonderful view of the water. As full-timers we find the sites to be spaced a nice distance apart. If you are looking for privacy, I think that is hard to find in any campground unless it is a state park. One thing that I would have to complain about is the garbage left behind at the sites and in the fire pits. In our last two stays, we picked large pieces of glass out of the fire pit and had to rake up garbage from the previous camper. We also found some of the staff to be very rude and unfriendly. The exception to that is park manager.. Very helpful and nice manager. We will continue to stay here. We camped at Winton Woods Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Winton Woods Campground, Cincinnati, Ohio

Date of Stay: June, 2012 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

We stay at Winton Woods twice a year for a week or better when we visit our son. We have been doing this for the past 5 years. This is one of the nicest campgrounds we have stayed at. We are full-timers so we appreciate the area. This is a beautiful park with a wonderful walking/biking trail. One thing that has changed since we first started staying here was they added a security gate. We appreciate that addition. We will continue to stay here. We camped at Winton Woods Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Frontier Campground, Waynesville, Ohio

Date of Stay: June, 2012 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for 4 nights for our son's wedding in Dayton. A 25 mile trip back and forth many times into Dayton but the campground was worth it. This is a very nice park in the country. It is quiet and very peaceful. Many seasonal sites but they are kept clean. Owners are very friendly and make your stay pleasant. We had one issue. We picked up mice at the park. When we arrived we were parked next to an RV that had put mothballs around the outside of his unit. We asked to be moved because of the smell. We should have realized the mothballs were for mice problems. When we left the campground we took mice with us. Thankfully we were able to trap them. First time we have had mice issues in our RV. We would stay here again but would be prepared for the mice. We camped at Frontier Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
