Trailer Lane RV Park, Weed, California

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

A 60's style park with modern hookups. Park on the lawn under trees in most cases. The owners are down home friendly. O.K. so a train goes by about 9:30 AM and returns about 3:00 and there is I5 traffic noise at times, but it didn't interfere with our enjoying 4 days at this park. The 1+ mile drive on an old highway sets the mood. If you are a Snowflake requiring perfection drive on, but for a true RV experience it's a luxury. We stayed here in a motorhome. We camped at Trailer Lane RV Park in a Motorhome.

The small towns of Weed and Mt Shasta are near by, so are Lake Shastina, Lake Siskiyou and if course stunning Mt Shasta.

Benbow KOA (formerly Benbow RV Park), Garberville, California

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $56.00
Overall Rating:

While expensive for the area, it is close to the historic Benbow Inn which has an excellent dinning room. Clean, grassy spots. Easy on and off Hwy 101. Oh yes, a golf course too. We spent an extra day and traveled 'The Lost Coast' road. We camped at Benbow KOA (formerly Benbow RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Historic Ferndale, the Redwoods, etc., all make great day trips from here. I consider it a day's drive from San Francisco.

Hidden Valley Ranch, Deming, New Mexico

Date of Stay: February, 2016 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

If you are looking for a remote stay, this is the place. Seven miles of gravel make it hard on the towed. However the spaces are roomy. No TV, cell reception spotty. People are New Mexico ranch friendly. Nice store, large reading room, rec hall. We camped at Hidden Valley Ranch in a Motorhome.
