This campground is only 3 miles from our house, but we like coming here for a weekend getaway. The grounds are kept up and there is ample room between rigs. The little league plays here and we watched a couple of games while we were here, which was fun. My in-laws come and spend a couple of months here during the winter, which is very convenient. It's nice to walk by the lake, and they have picnic tables and a playground by the lake, so it is very family friendly.

This is our second trip to Golden Shores, because our grandson lives in Long Beach, and my sister lives in Los Angeles. The park is very clean and the sites are clearly marked with a curb. There is grass and a swimming pool. Each site has a picnic table with a metal plate on the end of it, so you can put a little BBQ on it, which is very convenient. It also has a store in the park.

The campground was clean, but the sites were a bit muddy. They could use a little gravel on the site. There was a picnic table and fire ring at each site, which was very nice. There was grass and trees at the sites, which makes it nice, instead of some places that are " parking lots" with hookups. There is also a store and a nice gazebo, for a great ocean view, as it was close to the ocean. The easiest way to get to the ocean, is to walk through the State Park next to us.
