Whispering Oaks RV Resort, Greenville, North Carolina

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This park was a hidden gem, especially for staying while visiting kids at ECU. We arrived around 9:30 @ night, and called them before hand. The owner met us outside, showed me to the site and even offered to assist setting up. When we were setting up, he drove my TOAD around to our site, so I didn't have to walk to get it. I admit, as some reviews stated there are no amenities, but I knew this coming in. Awesome water pressure, and great shaded sites. Our site was pretty level and was a sand/gravel/grass area. Picnic table was onsite. They had 20/30/50 Amp hook-ups. Since I was only there for 5 days, mainly visiting ECU I didn't go fishing. Everyone in the parks were friendly and it was very quiet at night. Easy access to Highway 264, and only 10 minutes to ECU campus. We will be camping here again! We camped in a pull-thru site with a 38' Motorhome. We camped at Whispering Oaks RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, Lake Buena Vista, Florida

Date of Stay: December, 2015 - $85.00
Overall Rating:

We actually stayed in October 2014 & May 2015, and have a planned stay in December 2016. What can you say, it Disney. I tried this place in 2014 and was hooked from the start. It is quiet, well spaced RV sites. Both times I have stayed there we were in the 800 loop. We rented a golf cart offsite, and have had a great time. Transportation to Magic Kingdom is by boat, and the other parks are by bus. There is a bus system internally in resort that will get you to were ever you wish to go. Gift Shops, Marina, Pools, and Restaurants are all top notch. Went to the shops and picked up a internet router and plugged this into my wireless router in the rv, so everyone had internet. Internet was great speed. TV is cable, and had plenty of channels. We had a premium site both times, and had plenty of room for two golf carts as we had 5 people in our site. Trash pick-up is everyday, so no smell. Bathhouses are spotless. Laundry facility is great with plenty of units. Site are fairly shaded. We camped at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground in a Motorhome.

High Rock Lake Marina & Campground, Lexington, North Carolina

Date of Stay: October, 2012 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Camped here for a long weekend. The weather was great. Realizing that it was late in the season, some of the amenities were not available (boats, pool, etc) it still didn't detour us from have a good time. Management stayed late to show us our site (Checked in @ 7:00). Site was huge and well shaded. Bathhouse was in great condition, and well maintained. Staff was very friendly and the Deli was outstanding. Will camp here again! We camped at High Rock Lake Marina & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Fort Fisher Air Force Rec Area (Military FamCamp), Kure Beach, North Carolina

Date of Stay: July, 2012 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Camped here for 8 days at RV#7. This site was a great shaded site. We had to pull in and set-up, due to the utilities, but it worked out great. Location is the key to this campground, and I will be coming back. The recreation center and pool was great. The staff for this facility go out of their way to assist in any way they can. Sites were concrete and level. VERY close to the beach and sound. Campground has a fishing pier for the sound. While we were there, they had a concert for everyone, and it was well administered. This place is definitely a GEM. They are currently working on water for the RV sites, but never had a outage. They are spending money on the facilities, but you are dealing with the government. Can't wait until my next stay! We camped at Fort Fisher Air Force Rec Area (Military FamCamp) in a Travel Trailer.

Carolina Beach Family Campground, Wilmington, North Carolina

Date of Stay: July, 2012 - $17.00
Overall Rating:

This campsite is mainly for small campers and/or tents. Campsites are smaller than they appear online. While our 32' camper fit in the site it was a tight fit. There is water and sewer dump station available, but not at your sites. Water is located throughout the campground, you just have to fill up before you get to your site. The sites are pretty level, and are crushed rock. Sites have fire pits/grill and a picnic table. The bath houses are clean and easily accessible. We had a generator, but not an inverter type and only used it when we charged the batteries. Would camp here again during the winter or fall, but would only in a tent. We camped at Carolina Beach Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

High Rock Lake Marina & Campground, Lexington, North Carolina

Date of Stay: June, 2012 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Called on Friday at 6 PM and got a site. Got to the site at 8 PM and was met with a friendly staff. The sites are tight to get into, but plenty big once set up. I had to jack-knife my 32' trailer in. All the amenities are great. It was a HOT weekend so no fish were biting, but we still had fun. Mostly full of seasonal campers, but all were friendly. Pool was clean, and everything was within a short walking distance. Great location. Overall super experience, and will stay there again. We camped at High Rock Lake Marina & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Zooland Family Campground, Asheboro, North Carolina

Date of Stay: June, 2012 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

We love going to this campground. Every time we come they have great activities. The owner has done a lot of work on this place over the past year, and boy, has it helped. The only issue I have had is that the full hook-up sites are not as level as I would have liked. Other than that we have a winner. We have camped here for Halloween, Summer, and weekend trips. Nice shaded areas, and friendly staff. We camped at Zooland Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.
