Lake Mead RV Village, Boulder City, Nevada

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

We stay here every time we're in the Vegas area. Really like this park. Always stay in the lakefront sites which are very spacious and offer hookups on both sides, so you can face in or back in - your choice. Sites are always clean and groomed. 50 amp power is strong and stable. We camped at Lake Mead RV Village in a Motorhome.

Prospector Hotel and Casino, Ely, Nevada

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

Looking for a full hookup while passing through. Really good value for the money. No pull-throughs available but I found a back in that accommodated my 65' combo. As others have stated, sites are not level but not a problem for me - I'm equipped with hydraulic jacks. Although really old and dated looking, the 50 amp service was outstanding, stable and 124v per leg. Check-in was fast and informative, with a complimentary margarita if desired. Restaurant open till midnight. Cool little motorcycle museum near the front desk, and many items of interest on display around the premises (prospecting gear, old farm equipment, wagons, etc.) Good value. We camped at Prospector Hotel and Casino in a Motorhome.

Anderson Camp , Eden, Idaho

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

Was looking for a pull through that could accommodate my 65' combo. They had one available. Arriving at my spot it was a lawn with a power pedestal. All the other sites were gravel. Parked on it and noticed the rig next to me had the generator running? Turns out the whole row had the power out. Wasn't told this at check in. Waited awhile while all kinds of insects flew up out of the grass. Finally neighbors reported the power was back on but their AC wouldn't start up. I plugged in and monitored voltage for awhile - around 112v on leg 1 and leg 2 kept intermittently dropping to 80-85v. Went back to the office for a refund and explained the situation. They stated the power was now "restarted". Received a refund. Customer service was friendly upon check in - not so much on getting the refund. Evidently they really wanted the $50. We camped at Anderson Camp in a Motorhome.

Cape Disappointment State Park, Ilwaco, Washington

Date of Stay: December, 2012 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Absolutely awesome location!. Really nice if you like the sound of the ocean. Space was easy to back into and had adequate pavement for parking and walking around our motorhome. 50 amp service was excellent as well. The road into the campground is a bit long and very twisty, but overhead trees and branches were pruned sufficiently, just use care driving in. One note - a toad is really handy as RV's are prohibited on the access roads to the lighthouses, trail heads, etc. Would have rated it a bit higher only because for some reason (safety?) the loop closest to the beach was closed off this year (we stayed in it 2 winters ago). We camped at Cape Disappointment State Park in a Motorhome.

Port of Newport RV Park, Newport, Oregon

Date of Stay: December, 2012 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Love staying here when passing through Newport! Super clean park and really well maintained. Sites are really large and the paving is in great condition. There are pull-throughs, pull-ins and back-ins, although we opted to nose into a back-in to have a wonderful windshield view of the harbor and the Newport bridge. Arrived in a driving rain but the park's drainage is really good and there was no flooding. Great location to the harbor, aquarium, old town, etc. The 50 amp service worked great and was stable. We camped at Port of Newport RV Park in a Motorhome.

Mad River Rapids RV Park, Arcata, California

Date of Stay: December, 2012 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Watch the power! Arrived after hours. They say they have 50 amp sites, but I couldn't find any. Two of the 30 amp sites I checked were low voltage (104 volts), finally found one in a different row that was 117, so I used it. About 20 minutes later my power went out and when I went to check the breaker the resident across from me said the whole park is out. It had just happened a couple hours before also. At this point another resident marched up to me and accused me of shutting the park down because I plugged my 50 rig into a 30 (apparently he doesn't know what breakers are for), then my resident neighbor other side joined in also, saying something about I should find another site. First guy then walked away and about 2 minutes later power was back on for the night, so maybe he knew how to reset it? Noticed another review commenting about the power, so this park really needs to address the power issue. Definitely would not stay here again. We camped at Mad River Rapids RV Park in a Motorhome.

Lake Mead RV Village, Boulder City, Nevada

Date of Stay: September, 2012 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed in the premium lake view row, which does indeed have a wonderful view of the lake, especially at night. These sites are really large with a concrete pad for both your coach and patio area. One nice feature is hookups on both sides so you can pull in or back in - your choice. Office staff was great and there is a decent store also. We appeared to be the only "private" rv among all the rentals in the lake view row. The site was long enough to accommodate our coach and toad without unhooking. Would certainly stay here again! We camped at Lake Mead RV Village in a Motorhome.

Valley of Fire State Park, Overton, Nevada

Date of Stay: September, 2012 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

As usual, one of the nicest State Park campgrounds with hookups I've seen. Sites are incredible - large, level, clean, great hookups, and unreal views. We were here in the heat of summer, so there were only 4 other rigs in the campground with us. You will not be disappointed! We camped at Valley of Fire State Park in a Motorhome.

Zion Canyon Campground & RV Park, Springdale, Utah

Date of Stay: September, 2012 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Park seemed to be well maintained and the office staff was great. They set me up with one of their pull through sites and it was very level and spacious. Park did get really full over the Labor Day holiday and the trash bins could have used more frequent emptying, but otherwise everything was fine. Awesome location for visiting Zion park - like 2 minutes from the entrance. I will certainly stay here again. We camped at Zion Canyon Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Desert View RV Resort, Needles, California

Date of Stay: June, 2012 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here as a one-nighter with a late arrival (after hours). Late registration was very convenient and easy. Really nice small park that appeared very tidy and well kept. Sites are quite private feeling although a bit narrow due to the nice shrubs between sites. Appears to have cable but at my site the connector end was missing from the wiring. I would stay here again if passing through! We camped at Desert View RV Resort in a Motorhome.
