Austin Lone Star Carefree RV Resort, Austin, Texas

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

Everything about this RV park was good. I appreciated the American Legion (military) discount. The free WiFi was the best that I've seen in any RV park. A park employee showed us to our site and fully explained the park procedures. The park is close (driving distance) of many restaurants, grocery stores, and much more. I would recommend this park if you want to be in downtown Austin. Traffic on I-35 can be extremely heavy. We camped at Austin Lone Star Carefree RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Pontchartrain Landing, New Orleans, Louisiana

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $59.00
Overall Rating:

The park is on the edge of Lake Pontchartrain so there is good waterfront. A restaurant on-site is very good. We had the ribs. There is nothing else within walking distance but there are grocery stores within a short driving distance and the park has a shuttle that goes to the French Quarter a few times each day. Our site had little shade and that was a struggle in the heat and humidity of July in New Orleans. This is the best RV park in New Orleans. We camped at Pontchartrain Landing in a Motorhome.

Blue Sky Ranch RV Park (formerly Arizona Sands RV Park) (55+ Park), Yuma, Arizona

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

We actually stayed at this RV park in January, but that month was not available on the selection list. The park was dog friendly and good. It is not within walking distance of much of anything, but is a short drive from a lot of grocery stores, restaurants, movie theaters, and more. The Mexico border is a bit further. Los Algadones Mexico and all of the inexpensive dentists is just a bit further drive.
The grey/black water drain hose on my RV works at all other parks, but wad too large to fit the dump pipe at our site. We had to pull over to another parking site to dump before we left. We camped at Blue Sky Ranch RV Park (formerly Arizona Sands RV Park) (55+ Park) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Two large grocery stores in Yuma have quite a bit of organic food. Go west on 32nd street (in front of the park). After a ways this street will curve toward the north. One store will be on the right while the other will be some distance on the left (just past a stop light). Ask the manager.

Caliente Springs Resort (55+ park), Desert Hot Springs, California

Date of Stay: June, 2012 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed three nights and it was a good stay. The laundry was welcome and clean as were the bathrooms. The pool was well used by the local residents. We did not use the hot tubs, but they looked clean. This is a place for people over 55 and includes many homes in addition to RV sites. In the Palm Springs/Desert Hot Springs area this is a good place to stay, although a bit on the expensive side. We camped at Caliente Springs Resort (55+ park) in a Motorhome.

Junction/North Llano River RV Park, Junction, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2012 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

We had tried to stay at a place in Ozona and it was very bad so we drove on to Junction and found the Junction/North Llano River RV Park. The 'main' sites were all taken, but there were several additional sites behind the office building. It was late with no one in the office, but there was a note about the additional sites posted. So we pulled in, plugged in and spent the night. The next morning we could see that the main sites looked very nice and we would have liked to have stayed there, but we needed to move on so we left. This is a very nice place to stay. We camped at Junction/North Llano River RV Park in a Motorhome.
