Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, Lake Buena Vista, Florida

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

This is one of the best parks we have ever seen and it is huge. Obviously it is expensive, there is nothing cheap at Disney. The grounds are really nice with a mix of oaks, pines and cypress trees providing at least partial shade most places. There are some sites more open for better satellite service, but they provide cable TV. When a campsite is vacated the staff cleans it promptly, never seen anything approaching this at another campground. Lots of paved paths for biking and walking as well as campground shuttle buses and buses to the parks. Pretty enjoyable to sit on the campground beach and watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks. We camped at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground in a Motorhome.

We stayed for 2 nights just for fun. Have stayed here before and all is still good. Ownership is changed since we last visited, it is now a "Sun' resort. Lots of new park models going in. We camped at Sun-N-Fun RV Resort in a Motorhome.

A Big Wheel RV Park, Saint Marys, Georgia

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

An overnight stop for traveling I95, we have used this campground before and like it. Always prefer to use the Passport America parks rather than Walmarts, truck stops, etc. whenever possible. Nice people run the park and the sites are level concrete while interior roads are asphalt and nice. We camped at A Big Wheel RV Park in a Motorhome.

Fancy Gap / Blue Ridge Parkway KOA, Fancy Gap, Virginia

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

Just stopped for an overnight, so experience was limited. Very nice property, sites are cut into the hill so the interior roads are hilly. Very cool atmosphere with lots of trees and the terrain. The staff led us to our site upon arrival which was nice. Excellent bathrooms. We camped at Fancy Gap / Blue Ridge Parkway KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Some other reviewers had trouble with roads leading to campground ie; frog spur road. We did not use that road instead we used the approach of State Road 52 and the junction of Blue Ridge parkway.

Appalachian Campsites, Shartlesville, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

An overnight stop so did not use all amenities. Restrooms were clean and facilities seemed in good shape. There was a Halloween event the weekend we stayed so there was a lot happening for the kids. Property has a lot of trees and feels more like a campground than a"resort". Roads are unpaved once away from the entrance and may be a little tight for some but we had no problem. We camped at Appalachian Campsites in a Motorhome.

Linger Lodge, Bradenton, Florida

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This is an "old Florida" kind of place which we have a fondness and appreciation. Having said that it is a tired place that could be really neat if it were fixed up some. Bathrooms need remodeling, roads are dirt with many potholes, many really old permanent trailers etc. This is no resort but the property sits on a neat river and the rate is ok for what it is. We enjoyed the restaurant, a good place to visit at least once. We camped at Linger Lodge in a Motorhome.

Sun-N-Fun RV Resort, Sarasota, Florida

Date of Stay: November, 2013 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed for almost three weeks and enjoyed it very much. The staff does a very good job with just about everything. We were very surprised to see the number of people working here. The facility is huge, so it takes a lot to do it right. In November, the winter seasonal activities are beginning to ramp up. We became spoiled with nightly visits to the hot tub. Our only gripe would be the tight roads which can be busy so when walking around it is good to pay attention to vehicle traffic. We camped at Sun-N-Fun RV Resort in a Motorhome.

A Big Wheel RV Park, Saint Marys, Georgia

Date of Stay: May, 2013 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

We stopped for an overnight stay heading north out of Florida and again on the return trip home. We try to use Passport America for overnight stops rather than truck stops or Walmart. We saw good reviews so thought it worth the few mile drive off I-95 and were glad we did. The owners are very friendly and live on site. The bathrooms were clean, as was the entire property. All roads are nicely paved asphalt while the pads are concrete and level. Our first night stay was in steady rain so we were glad to have the paved roads and site. The second night was beautiful weather and we got a much better view of the whole property and it is really nice. There is a mix of shaded and more open sites and most were pull through with some of those being quite long so the toad can stay attached. We will stay hear again when traveling I-95 in the future. We camped at A Big Wheel RV Park in a Motorhome.

Bahia Honda State Park, Big Pine Key, Florida

Date of Stay: November, 2012 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

This park sits on a fantastic piece of waterfront real estate, that is a small undeveloped island aside from the park. Like most FL state parks it is on the rustic side and is meant for the outdoor lovers. If you are after perfect paved sites, planned activities, fancy bathrooms, and fully appointed clubhouses you will be disappointed. If you like beaches, boating, fishing, snorkeling, hiking and tropical settings this is for you. The bathrooms were clean and the electric worked fine. We made use of the onsite boat ramp and marina which is protected and calm. If you look at the map you see the bridge is very close by and since sound travels very well across water, you will hear traffic. It is a small price to pay for such a beautiful spot. We camped at Bahia Honda State Park in a Motorhome.

Rock Crusher Canyon RV Park, Crystal River, Florida

Date of Stay: July, 2012 - $17.00
Overall Rating:

We visited this park for a quiet weekend getaway, it was perfect for this. Being summertime the park was not at all busy, maybe 20% occupied or so. It has more of a state park feel than a resort which we like. The roads are paved while most sites are not. With almost 400 sites this is a big campground. Seems to us the sites would offer something for everyone. Some are very secluded and shady while others are open and sunny. The foliage is mostly oak trees so it is not a tropical setting like you may find further south in FL. Pool and hot tub were great as were rest rooms. This park is busy during the winter and offers a lot of activities that time of year. Selecting a site on the eastern side will put you further from the road noise which is not bad anyway. We will stay here again especially since they honor Passport America. We camped at Rock Crusher Canyon RV Park in a Motorhome.

Harvest Moon RV Park, Adairsville, Georgia

Date of Stay: June, 2012 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We stopped for an overnight stay on return to Florida. We usually try to stop at Passport America parks for overnights but it was 106 degrees that day an we wanted a nice pool. This park is not a PA park so rate shown is retail with no sewer hook up. The pull through sites were very long but offered no shade. The pool closed at 8:30 pm which was strictly enforced, there were about a dozen of us who would have swam longer if allowed. This park is well maintained with nice clean air conditioned bathrooms. We camped at Harvest Moon RV Park in a Motorhome.

Cypress Lakes RV Park, Calvert City, Kentucky

Date of Stay: June, 2012 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed overnight while passing through this area, the park is convenient to I-24. For one night it was fine but we would not have enjoyed a longer stay. Park maintenance was just OK, some area look worn. Restrooms were not very clean or air conditioned. Wi-Fi only works close to office. The rate shown was the Passport America rate and it was worth that. There are a lot of permanent residents, the ones we met all seemed friendly. We camped at Cypress Lakes RV Park in a Motorhome.

Twin Oaks RV Park & Campground, Elko, Georgia

Date of Stay: June, 2012 - $19.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed overnight on a trip north from Florida, the rate was the Passport America rate. This is a well run, clean and nice park. The managers live on site and work hard to make this a nice place to stay. We will certainly return when traveling through this area. Very convenient access to I-75 but not so close that the noise is objectionable. We camped at Twin Oaks RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.
