Overall we were satisfied with our week stay at Splash Magic. While we won't be running back, we would say the stay was adequate. There were a couple things to take note of. - This campground is VERY busy. Most of the sites are VERY tight. We actually got lucky and had some of the largest sites there. - The wrist band/activity fees are extremely steep, especially for the weekend. We had a special package, and if we hadn't we would not have stayed. - The pool and slides were nice. But the adults here were pretty rowdy and we did not appreciate the smoking that was not only allowed but encouraged with ash trays around the family swimming area. - Renting a golf cart was a must. The campground is huge and our site was a very long walk from the pool and even farther from the river. We could have driven but the amount of bikes on the road made it next to impossible to get around. The bike rentals are great, but there are bikes everywhere! - Our sites backed up to the railroad and a factory. We were in a 5th wheel so the noise was not a problem for us. But could be if you are tent camping or in a pop up. The factory works 3rd shift and is noisy at night. - Speaking of noisy, this campground is a late night campground. LOTS of people up really late. Again, not a problem for us but I could see it could be for others. - Finally, they are adding a ton of additional campsites. This is going to make the traffic and number of bikes even worse. I would say it was good for a weekend, but I am afraid that it was so busy that I wouldn't want to be there over the weekend. Things were clean though.

The sites at this state park are awesome. They are large and flat and taken care of very nicely. However, most of them do not have shade. They are in full sun. The bathrooms are very nice, and typically clean. We have been to this campground twice and the bugs have been relentless each time. This isn't the fault of the park, but something to note. The beach on the lake was very well kept but a drive from the campground. We have been very happy with the campground both times we have been there.

We were in very shaded sites up on the back hill. We really liked that we were away from the pool madness. We were really happy with the pool and slides. We had a couple instances with the staff being over zealous in yelling at people and felt that it was catered to more permanents. The RC track was nice and the bathrooms were clean (although have the push buttons for water). We would stay here again.

Overall we enjoyed our holiday weekend here. Sites were big and flat, but our loop had the picnic tables bolted down. We heard that this was the only loop that did this. We travel in a large group and not being able to move the picnic tables does not work for us. It means we are not able to eat meals together. The beach was good, and disc golf course was nice. The men in our party were not happy with their showers, as there was no privacy. The women's showers had space to change when entering and exiting.

We really enjoy Granite Hill and go back every April as our first stop during camping season. We were there this year during their Chili Cookoff and really enjoyed ourselves. The staff is always very friendly and everything is always clean. Be weary of the mud in some spots, but in April that is really just par for the course.

We went to Lickdale because we wanted to enjoy their tubing. I will start with the campground itself, it is a great location and the grounds are beautiful. Our sites were a good sizes and every site has a great concrete pad. The playground was new and our children really enjoyed all it had to offer. I would love to say we would come back, but I am not sure that is the truth. The customer service was probably the worst I have ever had at a campground. The store and reservations are run by teenagers. Getting accurate information was impossible. The rates for tube rental on the website is not the correct rate and they refused to honor it. We were double charged for a night and it took 5 days and multiple conversations to get a refund. The staff bordered on rude and when asked direct questions never had an answer. If we were to stay here again, I would ask for the owners, who once we got in touch with them were extremely helpful and kind. A little adult supervision would go a long way at the campground. Good location, and good sites but the lack of service ruined it for us.

We camped at the Loose Caboose for the first time over Memorial Day weekend 2012. We were concerned about some of the reviews of the water, but we had no trouble. It is apparent that they are working on updating everything in the ground. The location is perfect, the sites are large and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. We did have a little trouble with our electric the first evening. However, they were quick to make it right. The bathrooms need some updating, but are clean. The sites are on a large hill but they are level and fairly easy to get in to. We would recommend this campground and we are looking forward to going back to see the updates they make!
