Very nice park with a lake. All the personal were helpful and friendly. Good hot showers. We were in Cedar loop 7, which was fine for our 28 ft travel trailer. Other site I would recommend would be 27. Both do not have any other site close to them and were near the bath house. Camping loops were well patrolled by the rangers. There is a beach in the park for swimming in the lake that is very nice.

There are only 23 spots, All back-in and are spacious and easy to maneuver. The camping section is shaded throughout. The water, sewer, and electric hook ups are easy access with most of the sights being level. Showers & baths are clean with plenty of hot water. The staff are friendly and very helpful. Things to consider are no camp store, Internet is accessible at the Center which is nice and has very good reception. Primarily a retreat, but have lots of things for children including a nice pool. The sites we liked were 12,13,14,21,23. The campground is about twenty minutes to Williamsburg. Our RV is 28' long. We plan on returning.

This park is primarily seasonal occupied. There are 16 spots for non-permanent camping, most with some shade and roomy. Campground is very clean and the permanent sites were well kept. Everyone was friendly. Small office, not much of a store. Bath & showers were clean. About 6 miles from attractions and stores. Good hookups, water pressure good, TV cable good. We will return to explore the area again. Also sites were level gravel.

We were here last year and the staff is still friendly & helpful.Sites are level, good hookups, good tv & cell reception, just up the road from Knobles amusement park.Have a small pool but nice. Restrooms clean.Only down side, office is tiny with very little supplies other than candy & marshmellows. So bring what you need, any parts or supplies will be about 1-1/2 miles or so away.Great ice cream place across from camp.

Sites were gravel but level, staff very helpful,I would suggest being on the east side, not near the amusement park.Although the park is off a busy hwy. Noise was not an issue. Baths and showers were very nice & clean. We were in site 210 a pull through, average room & not too close to the person next to you. Sites I liked were 208,210,203,303,402 We were in a 28ft TT. This park is not real large but comfortable. We would definitely stay again when in the area. Close to most things to see.

Site was level concrete pad, just big enough for our 28 ft camper & spot for vehicle. You have 12 ft between sites that are staggered. There are also sites with a patio that has table, chairs & gas grill for about $65.00 a night. Bathrooms & showers were the best I have seen. Staff was friendly and helpful. Close to local tourist sites. Large grocery store in small mall down the road. Train tracks about 1-1/2 miles away, you could hear the amtrak on occasions. Over all, not bad.

Staff very friendly and helpful, stayed on the hill on the advise of another reviewer on this camp ground, lots of permanent sites down near main office area. We stayed in site 207 on the hill very spacious. After looking around I would recommend on the hill sites 204-207 with 208/209 being duel sites also 240-243, lots of shade, spacious. Bathhouse clean, heated, good hot water, pool was closed due to time of year, but looked very nice with lots of things for children. Lots to do in area with great bike trails and trout fishing near Reading. Will be back.

Easy access off I-81. This is a new campground. The owners are very pleasant and will go out of their way to help you with anything. No problem for big rigs. Bath house was always clean. The outdoor pool was very nice. Internet access was very good. Close to Shenandoah caverns. We stayed 3 days and would definitely stay again.

Wtayed for 4 days, DNR staff friendly & courteous. The sites all paved & level, good paved trails for bike riding both in state & connecting National park. Baths are kept clean and are big. Only had one problem the women's shower water was only luke warm, told a ranger was told it should be at 130 Deg. and they looked into it right away. If you have a pet book early because the sites with electric where pets are allowed are limited. All sites close to ocean w/ith good access. We will return

Stayed in their new section: Deer Hollow. Has big roomy sites, shade, new bathrooms nearby which were clean and very nice. A pool, only 4-1/2 feet deep, but enough for a dip, well maintained. They also have a really nice 18-hole miniature golf course. Staff is friendly and helpful. Pond has catch and release fish which were pickerel, bass & blue gills. Boat rental, golf cart rental. Definitely will return.

Very clean and staff was very friendly. Most sites pull through, no shade to speak of. But the facilities were very nice: pool, hot tub great showers and bath rooms, dog park which the animals loved. Close to Roanoke Rapids and easy to get to a store if you need too. Great stop if traveling on 95.
