Indian Island County Campground, Riverhead, New York

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

this park is maintained by the county. They do an excellent job. The people are very helpful & courteous. They even p/u your garbage daily, as a free service. The sites are sand but level, not too close. Water pressure good. When booking your stay, there is a policy about when it can be done. Suggest calling the Co. parks office & get info. Also bring your dogs vaccination info, they will ask to see a copy. We camped at Indian Island County Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Muddy Run Recreation Park, Holtwood, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

The park is very spacious, with a large lake. Sites with electric & water are limited, so call ahead to see what is available. we stayed in site 57, but also like 120. ask how far connections are, they could be 60 to 70 ft. away because they are located to service a couple site. Other than that this a very nice park. Large grocery store about 10 min. away. About 30 min. to Lancaster. We camped at Muddy Run Recreation Park in a Travel Trailer.

Greenbrier State Park, Boonsboro, Maryland

Date of Stay: May, 2015 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice park with a lake. All the personal were helpful and friendly. Good hot showers. We were in Cedar loop 7, which was fine for our 28 ft travel trailer. Other site I would recommend would be 27. Both do not have any other site close to them and were near the bath house. Camping loops were well patrolled by the rangers. There is a beach in the park for swimming in the lake that is very nice. We camped at Greenbrier State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Going through Sharpsburg a must stop is Nutter's ice cream store, good ice cream and plenty of it at an amazing price; they only accept cash. Good trout fishing 2 miles away from the park at Beaver creek. Fly fishing shop right there to help.

There are only 23 spots, All back-in and are spacious and easy to maneuver. The camping section is shaded throughout. The water, sewer, and electric hook ups are easy access with most of the sights being level. Showers & baths are clean with plenty of hot water. The staff are friendly and very helpful. Things to consider are no camp store, Internet is accessible at the Center which is nice and has very good reception. Primarily a retreat, but have lots of things for children including a nice pool. The sites we liked were 12,13,14,21,23. The campground is about twenty minutes to Williamsburg. Our RV is 28' long. We plan on returning. American Heritage RV Park, Williamsburg, Virginia

Date of Stay: October, 2013 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

Site was level concrete pad, just big enough for our 28 ft camper & spot for vehicle. You have 12 ft between sites that are staggered. There are also sites with a patio that has table, chairs & gas grill for about $65.00 a night. Bathrooms & showers were the best I have seen. Staff was friendly and helpful. Close to local tourist sites. Large grocery store in small mall down the road. Train tracks about 1-1/2 miles away, you could hear the amtrak on occasions. Over all, not bad. We camped at American Heritage RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Staff very friendly and helpful, stayed on the hill on the advise of another reviewer on this camp ground, lots of permanent sites down near main office area. We stayed in site 207 on the hill very spacious. After looking around I would recommend on the hill sites 204-207 with 208/209 being duel sites also 240-243, lots of shade, spacious. Bathhouse clean, heated, good hot water, pool was closed due to time of year, but looked very nice with lots of things for children. Lots to do in area with great bike trails and trout fishing near Reading. Will be back. We camped at Adventure Bound Camping Resorts – Eagles Peak in a Travel Trailer.
