Custer State Park - Stockade Lake North Campground, Custer, South Dakota

Date of Stay: June, 2012 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This state park was a big surprise for me. It was huge, and had numerous campgrounds within it. The scenery was beautiful, and the camp hosts very friendly and helpful. When driving from camp to Mt. Rushmore, herds of buffalo were crossing the road and we had a very up-close look at them. Definitely worth checking into. Free showers. We camped at Custer State Park - Stockade Lake North Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Boysen State Park, Shoshoni, Wyoming

Date of Stay: June, 2012 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

I stumbled across this park. It is right on a beautiful little river, and listening to the river sounds at night while going to sleep was great. This is not a destination park, but is a very nice inexpensive sleepover place. It is on a highway, so road noises are present. There are no showers. We camped at Boysen State Park in a Travel Trailer.
