Cedar Lake Bible Retreat & RV Park, Cedar Lake, Indiana

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Now called Cedar Lake Ministries RV Park. There was no lower rate for a tent, so I paid full RV price for a backpacking 1 person tent for an electric site, water spigot was on site as well. No good spot to pitch, set up for campers to pull in. Showers clean and very quiet, not far from Hwy 41. Only option in the area. Office not open when I was there, but payment is in advance online so all you need to do is check in with the campground host. We camped at Cedar Lake Bible Retreat & RV Park in a Tent.

Richmond KOA, Richmond, Indiana

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $112.00
Overall Rating:

At check in I felt interrogated as to why I wanted to stay at the property etc and asked too many personal questions. Had a reservation. Usually we pull a camper but had a cabin this time, felt it would be more comfortable than a hotel room. Don't appreciate office staff grilling us to stay on their property. Place was nice enough. Cabin lacked several kitchen items making dinner preparation a little challenging. (measuring cups and spoons, dish towel, etc.) Road noise was the worst we ever experienced, truly loud all night long! Had to keep cabin windows closed because of this. Rough and narrow road on the way in. We camped at Richmond KOA in a Cabin.

Arrow Rock State Historic Site, Arrow Rock, Missouri

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $19.00
Overall Rating:

Most sites on the small side, lots of leveling needed even on concrete pads. Trees are a problem overhanging the site so watch out if your rig is tall. Back road leads to town of Arrow Rock. Only 1 full hook up site and it is short. We camped at Arrow Rock State Historic Site in a Fifth Wheel.

Compton Ridge Campground , Branson, Missouri

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Terrible sites not maintained, rough unlevel gravel, NO wifi even though they advertise and give a code but it is non existent. Good cable and location gives it a 5 it was the last place with sites available on a holiday weekend last minute for a reason. Check in took 45 minutes; the person to guide us to the location which was in a different area than the check in area was sitting in the office chatting while we waited outside in the rig. Overpriced. Choose somewhere else. We camped at Compton Ridge Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Kankakee South KOA, Chebanse, Illinois

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Very tight for RV's, they were packed together. Water smells of sulfur. Dirt and light gravel narrow roads. Overnight stop ok but not sure why there were so many people here, but beats spending on a hotel. Bathrooms ok but a little on the dirty side, but again the place was full. We camped at Kankakee South KOA in a Tent.

Siuslaw/Cape Perpetua, Yachats, Oregon

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

They do not enforce number of vehicles per site. Campers parked along the road with people camping in them. Ridiculous sites basically a parking pad and picnic table. Tents pitched almost on the road. We camped at Siuslaw/Cape Perpetua in a Tent.

Overall Rating:

Can be a noisy campground with day use people coming and going, they must pass through and park in the campground. Very close to good trails. We camped at Ohanapecosh Campground (NPS Campground) in a Tent.

Concrete / Grandy Creek KOA, Concrete, Washington

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $135.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed in the deluxe cabin, but owning an RV, I observed the site conditions as well. I thought the sites were adequately spaced and the grounds did have quite a number of very large old trees. Not sure how that would effect bigger rigs, but there were plenty of them here. The place was full on a weekend. I saw the tent sites were really close to the yurts, so maybe avoid a yurt. We had virtually no hot water in our cabin, so not a good value if you want a hot shower. Spike strip at the entrance, so be sure to go in the right direction or you will end up with shredded tires. Not sure why they feel the need for this, have never seen this before. Lots of rules and badgering employees. We camped at Concrete / Grandy Creek KOA in a Cabin.

Winthrop / N. Cascades National Park KOA, Winthrop, Washington

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

This is a beautiful paek, and although we stayed in a cabin, the rv sites looked well spaced out. The only complaint is that the river is obscured by a row of tent campers. Close to town but far enough away to be quiet. We camped at Winthrop / N. Cascades National Park KOA in a Cabin.

Moraine Campground (NPS Campground), Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Thus is a very popular and crowded campgrpund. We were on d loop which was more aecluded. Some of the sites were literally right on the road. They book up on advance but we were able to get a site with one day in advance on the website. Didn't have to bother with trying for a first come site. Not noisy at night. Bear boxes inconveniently place sporadically so we ended up keeping everything in the car and hauling it when we wanted to use it which was a big hassle. Should have more boxes available. Long drive to bear lake trailhead. We camped at Moraine Campground (NPS Campground) in a Tent.

Mazama Village (NPS Campground), Crater Lake National Park, Oregon

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

Convenient to crater lake, although it is a bit of a drive just to get to rim village. Campsites well spaced out, they have an odd system of finding your own site but seems to work. Reservations were not available until about 2 weeks before our July visit. Nps website says some sites are first come but upon calling the campground they said all are Reserved and they book up months in advance. This was so not correct! Agree with precious reviewers who say the park staff (xanterra ) don't have thir act together. Once here it was easy to check in, they tell you which color campsite to look for, and find your spot. We ended up with a site which was perfect for us. Would have rated higher if not for the misinformation of pxanterrparl staff. Restrooms uncared for. Feels like this park is the stepchild of the nps system. We camped at Mazama Village (NPS Campground) in a Tent.

Summit Lake North Campground (NPS Campground), Lassen Volcanic National Park, California

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful campground, private bear boxes which is a plus. Didn't think we needed it though as there are so many campers here but it makes it convenient to store your stuff. Campsites reasonably spaced out. Quiet campground right next to a small lake/big pond. They call all pools of water lakes here no matter how small. We camped at Summit Lake North Campground (NPS Campground) in a Tent.

Manzanita Lake (NPS Campground), Lassen Volcanic National Park, California

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $69.00
Overall Rating:

The cabin itself was spotless, in a heavily wooded area. Nice camper store, fully stocked and gifts too. Pay showers were disgusting, half of them were out of service. Right next to the lake. Worth staying here. It was noisy though, apparently there is no noise enforcement. People yelling at the top of their lungs till past dark. We camped at Manzanita Lake (NPS Campground) in a Cabin.
