Kamp Komfort RV Park & Campground, Carlock, Illinois

Date of Stay: June, 2013 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

We camped here overnight on our route home. Sites were pull-throughs. Staff showed us to our site. Campground was neat and well cared for. Park is a little cramped, but appropriate. Highway was right next to campground. Highway noise does not bother us, but could be a nuisance if you are a light sleeper. Good Sam Park. We camped at Kamp Komfort RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Buck Creek State Park, Springfield, Ohio

Date of Stay: May, 2013 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here overnight in a fifth wheel while traveling. Nice clean park. Bathhouse was clean, but fairly long walk from site. Feral cats and raccoon frequented picnic tables. Great flat areas to ride bikes. For those staying several nights, looks like great water activities. We camped at Buck Creek State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Luray KOA (formerly Luray RV Resort Country Waye), Luray, Virginia

Date of Stay: May, 2013 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very clean and beautiful park. Views include Shenandoah National Park and farmland. Sites are level and the space between the sites is appropriate. Very clean restrooms/shower. Nice dog park for those with pets. Large general activity area. Small pool and playground for those that have children. We do not, so it made no difference to us. Close to the Luray Caverns and the Rt. 211 entrance to the National Park. We camped at Luray KOA (formerly Luray RV Resort Country Waye) in a Fifth Wheel.

Pinewood Lodge Campground, Plymouth, Massachusetts

Date of Stay: July, 2012 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

This is a beautiful campground. There are sites to fit all size campers. There are also tent sites. We had a pull through with electric, water and cable TV. You only get 1 hour of internet per day, but you can purchase additional hours ($4.00 for 24 hours). Staff was friendly. There is a great lodge area where you check in. No swimming pool but there is a lake for swimming. This park is close to Plymouth sightseeing. Would definitely camp here again. All sites are under large beautiful pine trees. We used our own showers. Bathrooms and showers could use a bit of sprucing up, but that is a very minor fault to an otherwise great campground. We camped at Pinewood Lodge Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Hadley's Point Campground, Bar Harbor, Maine

Date of Stay: July, 2012 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

This park was was clean and staff was accommodating. I would rate however, as satisfactory. Entrance to campground is tight. It was congested during mid-day due to the close proximity of the pool and a lot of kids running around. Camp sites are lined up one after the other with not a lot of room between. Did not care for the layout. A lot of locals use this park which was a plus because they were helpful and friendly. We used our own bathroom and shower. Glancing at facilities they looked clean. Bus service to Bar Harbor was a plus. We camped at Hadley's Point Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Caledonia State Park, Hosack Run Campground, Fayetteville, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: June, 2012 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

This is an older state park. There is a large public area with picnic tables and large pool. Campers get discounts on the pool. Park was just okay, however, you have to consider the age of the park. Bathrooms/showers were older but kept clean by staff. We stayed in the Hosack area. A little overgrown in some sites. Not many spaces for large rigs. We were very close to the next camper. Smaller sites were nicely spaced between campers. We camped at Caledonia State Park, Hosack Run Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Promised Land State Park, Greentown, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: June, 2012 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Nice quiet park. There are areas for fishing and canoeing, some trails. We made our reservation on-line indicating we had a 5th wheel 34' motorhome. Upon arrival, our site was very small and we had to switch to a pull through which was fine. Suggest that you call to check with staff before booking on-line. Bathrooms and showers were very clean and maintained. Two of the loops were a little overgrown with weeds, but this would not deter me from staying here again. We camped at Promised Land State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Mountain Creek Campground, Gardners, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: May, 2012 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

This was our first time to this campground. Would give this campground an okay rating. A lot of seasonal campers. Some sites were great, some were just okay. Ground was uneven. Staff was friendly. Pool was not opened, but was very large and clean. Great for kids and adults who like to tube. The stream can be used as a "lazy river." There is an older child's playground. Near some of the sites, there were older pit toilets which were not very nice. The full bathroom/showers were clean but old and in need of sprucing up. Would not count this park out, but it depends on your style of camping. Kids would love it. We camped at Mountain Creek Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
