Coastal Georgia RV Resort, Brunswick, Georgia

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

Reviewed this a little over a year ago, and it's still a 10 to us. Very clean RV park for our 1-night stopover while traveling. However, if staying in the area, we would stay here longer term. Our site was a and, full-hookup, 50 amp concrete site that was level. No leveling was needed. Hookups are very convenient and easy. Site had patio & grill. Our site was on the first row entering the campground, so easy to access. It's a tad tight leaving, but wasn't a problem. There's a nice hedge between sites for privacy and ample room between sites. WiFi worked well and plenty of cable channels. Easy, friendly check-in. We would stay here again - most definitely! We camped at Coastal Georgia RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Lumberton/I-95 KOA Campground, Lumberton, North Carolina

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This was a 2-night stopover on the way to FL. Easy off/on I-95. Friendly, easy check-in with escort to site. Pull-thru, 50 amp, FHU site was asphalt & level - no shade. WiFi worked well. No cable..had about 6 or 7 OTA channels. Some road noise outside coach - not bad. Didn't hear noise inside. Ample room between sites. Good overnight place or even if you need to be in the area. We would stay here agin. We camped at Lumberton/I-95 KOA Campground in a Motorhome.

Sunset Beach Resort, Cape Charles, Virginia

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $68.00
Overall Rating:

Easy check-in with escort to site. No shade at all except along 1 side of campground has slight shade on rear of coach. Our full-hookup, 50 amp site #299 was grass with soft dirt. They have runners down for the tires. Site was easily leveled at first, but our rear jacks with supports sunk, and we had to add double supports and re-level. Sites have ample space between to be comfortable. No sites really have a water view, but we had a "peek-a-b00" view between some trees. However, the water is a short walk. Dogs are allowed on the beach, but the part you're allowed on is very small as each side is a restricted wildlife refuge area with postings that no one is allowed. So, there's no walking the beach. They could've done a better job of picking up beer/coke cans & cigarette butts from the perimeter around the restaurant/bar/pool. The campground itself was clean, and the workers were courteous. They just need a little more attention to details. Food at restaurant was good. Their exit strategy is crazy and inconvenient without any real communication as to how to exit. You can't exit at the entrance, plus there's a dump station, and one would assume the exit would be convenient to that. It is not. So, make sure you find out how to exit before you are packed up to leave. There isn't much to do in the area except beach, pool, restaurant/bar. That seemed to be the reason most were there. There is a state park up the road, and Cape Charles has a marina/beach, but is very small. We erroneously thought the area had more..not the campground's fault. We won't be back to the area, but if we did, we'd try a different campground. It just wasn't for us. We camped at Sunset Beach Resort in a Motorhome.

American Heritage RV Park, Williamsburg, Virginia

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $59.00
Overall Rating:

Decent place to stay to come visit Colonial Williamsburg & surrounding areas. Sites in the front section can be tight, but a lot of them have shade. Some are pull-thru & some are back-in. Our 50 amp, pull-thru, FHU site was level and was in the back section. There are small trees in this section, so no shade. I'm guessing this section is newer, so as the trees grow, they'll hopefully produce some shade. The sites are spaced well, and the way they are staggered makes it nice and spacious. Site is a concrete slab with a concrete patio. There is a parking space for 1 vehicle. They have a visitors overflow parking lot if you have more than 1 vehicle, which we did. Friendly, easy check-in. There's a nice pool along with a water slide (fee). The putt-putt didn't look usable - we didn't ask. Excellent WIFI & good cable. Easily accessible off I-64. We would stay here again if in the area. We camped at American Heritage RV Park in a Motorhome.

RVacation RV Park, Selma, North Carolina

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed 1 night while traveling. Nice, long pull-thru site, 50 amp, FHU and level. Plenty of space between sites with trees far enough away so no issue with slides. We had an extra car and had plenty of room for our 40' coach & 2 vehicles. This is a very nice park right off I-95. No road noise inside coach and minimal noise outside. Nice lake view from some sites. Fishing is catch & release - no license required. Easy, friendly check-in with escort to site. It is obvious the owner takes pride in his/her RV park. WIFI worked well, and plenty of OTA channels. Rate includes $4.00 for 2 extra adults less a GS discount. Without hesitation we would stay here again. We camped at RVacation RV Park in a Motorhome.

Magnolia Springs State Park, Millen, Georgia

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

This is a really nice, clean state park. Our 50 amp, pull-thru site was very spacious and level. There are woods surrounding the campground, so we had woods out our door. They only have 4 or 5 50-amp sites, and they are first come-first served. You can make a reservation, but not site specific. You choose your site once you arrive. There is no sewer hook up, but a dump station. We were attending a family reunion, and the others rented the cabins, which are very nice. We normally only stay at FHU sites, but had no choice. If they had sewer hook ups, this would be a 9 or even a 10. I would love to stay here longer, but we do not want to deal with no sewer. There are paddle boats/kayaks to rent and a splash pad that is free. There's also a playground. There's plenty of room to walk the dog. We received 3 channels on our OTA, had good Verizon cell service, and good WIFI using our hotspot. (Note: the cabins couldn't receive internet with our hotspot, but the CG was fine.) The rate reflects a 30% discount. We camped at Magnolia Springs State Park in a Motorhome.

Ho-Hum RV Park, Carrabelle, Florida

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

We loved this park. We were on a Tier A site, which pulls straight in, so we had a view of the Gulf of Mexico out our front & side windows. It was an awesome view!! Our FHU site was crushed shell/gravel and was level. Space between sites was ample to put out awning and chairs. Check-in was friendly & efficient. It doesn't have a swimming beach, but the shoreline is walkable at low tide and dogs are allowed.

Used my own WIFI. Cable worked great and plenty of channels. There's a fishing pier to watch the sunrise or fish.

If you're looking for activities, this is not the place. It is a no-frills RV park with a very laid back, low-key atmosphere. No one under 17 allowed. If you like to relax, read, fish, or just do nothing, then you've found your place!! We extended our stay by 1 night. We didn't want to leave. We camped at Ho-Hum RV Park in a Motorhome.

River Ranch RV Resort, Lake Wales, Florida

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

We love, love River Ranch. The sites are individually owned, and some are in the rental pool. They range from no shade all the way up to lots of shade. However, there is lush landscaping between most sites. The place is very clean and well kept. There's tons to do...pool, airboat rides, swamp buggy rides, mini golf, golf, petting farm, horseback rides, zip line, Saturday night rodeo with street dance, Friday night line dancing in the saloon...some free and some cost $. There's a little "town" with a western motiff that has a general store, post office, laundromat, etc. The prices in the general store are a little high. It also has ice cream, sandwiches, etc. There's a restaurant, and the food was excellent. Walmart is a straight drive up Hwy 60 and is 30 minutes away, so is doable if staying a longer time and need groceries. The rate reflects a weekly rate. We only live 45 minutes away and have been here many times. We'll definitely be back. We camped at River Ranch RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Rainbow Village Largo Carefree RV Resort, Largo, Florida

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Needed a place to stay while attending a class for a week. The rate reflects a weekly rate plus 1 night. This is mostly a 55+/snowbird place with some RV sites, but was in close proximity to my class. It is not a camping" place. By and large there are a lot more mobile homes or park models. Having said that, it served my purpose well and was a nice place to stay. It was very clean and quiet. It's right at the end of season, but it appeared like there were a lot of activities during the season. Check-in was friendly, easy, and efficient. There is a security gate, and the park is close to shopping/restaurants. Now...the RV sites. Our 50 amp/FHU pull-thru site wasn't really a pull-thru. If your rig will turn on a dime, you can pull straight through. We had to back in, but will be able to hook up the toad and "pull out". The sites are close together. The WiFi is only at the rec hall/office, otherwise you'll need to pay for Tengo if you don't have your own. The cable TV was awful, so we used our OTA. We were able to get plenty of channels. Our site was gravel, and we needed to place boards under the jacks to keep them from sinking. However, we had no trouble levelling. There is a nice dog park and also plenty of space to walk the dog. We would return if in the area and need a site. We camped at Rainbow Village Largo Carefree RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Inland Harbor RV Park, Darien, Georgia

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Finally, a decently priced park. Cash or check only. After traveling the NE, which is expensive, I was happy to pay their rate. This is a very well-maintained, clean park with easy access to I-95. Some noise outside which didn't bother us, but none inside the RV. Park surrounded by trees for a woodsy feel. Easy walk to Waffle House & DQ across the street. Friendly, easy check-in. Our 50 amp, FHU, pull-thru was asphalt and easily leveled. Had no problem navigating interior roads. No shade at our site, but some have shade. Enough space between sites to sit outside. WiFi and cable were excellent. Good Verizon cell service. This was a one-night stopover en route to FL. We would stay here again. We camped at Inland Harbor RV Park in a Motorhome.

Staunton / Walnut Hills KOA, Staunton, Virginia

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice, clean KOA. Stayed here for an overnight and would've liked to have stayed longer. Our long, 50 amp, FHU, pull-thru site was gravel, level, and shaded. We were on the upper portion that did have a narrow winding road to get to, but it was not a problem with the toad attached. We had a lovely view out our front window. Nice walking spaces around the pond. Enough space between sites to sit outside. The WiFi was intermittent and some of the cable channels were not good. Good Verizon cell service. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Staunton / Walnut Hills KOA in a Motorhome.

Harrisburg East Campground, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

Nice, clean CG with easy access to Interstate. Our 50 amp, FHU, pull-thru site was gravel with lots of shade. The whole CG has trees for shade. Our site took a little work to level. Enough space between sites to sit outside. Sites near Interstate were quite noisy. Ours was near office, so noise not a bother inside or out. WiFi was excellent as was cable. Good Verizon cell service. Friendly, efficient check-in. Lots of shopping/restaurants nearby. Close to downtown Harrisburg and easy drive to Hershey. Lancaster about 45 minutes. We would stay here again. We camped at Harrisburg East Campground in a Motorhome.

New York City North / Newburgh KOA, Plattekill, New York

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $75.00
Overall Rating:

We were assigned an end, gravel, 50 amp, FHU pull-thru site (#60) with lots of foliage and trees. When we pulled up to our site, we were impressed until we tried to level. What normally takes 5 minutes took us over an hour to level as the site was sloped. Once we got through that, it was a great site. No neighbors on one side, a woods view out the front, and plenty of space. Other sites appeared to be more level, so they all weren't bad. The WiFi was excellent. The cable had a limited # of channels. Friendly, efficient check-in. Good Verizon cell service. Easy drive in and out of our site. Typical KOA with lots for kids/families to do. We would stay here again, but not on site #60. We camped at New York City North / Newburgh KOA in a Motorhome.

The Beach Camping Area, North Conway, New Hampshire

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

This is a clean campground with a beach on the Saco River. We are a 40' MH and need 50 amp. They only have 20/30 amp, but since we couldn't get a site elsewhere, we thought we could survive on 1 a/c. As it turned out, it wasn't that hot, but we were able to use an adapter and have 50 amp anyway. This is really a camping area, as their name suggests, and not set up for big rigs. Yes, you will fit, as we had a large, spacious pull-through site and had no trouble leveling. Sites are dirt. Getting in was easy, but getting out took some maneuvering. There were a few back-in sites closer to the entrance that would've been easier to exit. There's not much grass anywhere, but lots of trees for shade. It rained, and we had a large puddle near our door. We asked a worker to fill it with dirt, and within an hour, it was filled. Now, that's good service. The WiFi was really good as was the cable TV. Good Verizon cell service. Friendly, efficient check in with helpful staff. We camped at The Beach Camping Area in a Motorhome.

This is a really nice, clean KOA. We loved the trees at every site and the wooded feel. Our 50 amp, FHU, pull-thru site was gravel and level. We had a wood patio/deck with a nice grill. WiFi was very good - no cable, but we were able to get several OTA channels. Friendly, efficient check-in with helpful staff. Easy on/off of I-295. We stayed 2 nights while passing through and wouldn't hesitate to stay again if in the area. We camped at Augusta / Gardiner KOA in a Motorhome.
