The Pines RV Campground, Tifton, Georgia

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This is our 3rd stay here for an overnight while traveling from GA to FL. It is an excellent value and easy to access to I-75. The owner/manager meets you where the sign says to stop to get site assignment. It is cash or check, and she'll escort you to your site. Our FHU, pull-through site was level. The cable & WiFi worked great, and we had good Verizon cell service. The CG is clean, and road noise is buffered by the CG next door that is directly next to I-75. No noise inside the RV with barely any outside: nothing to really notice. I peeked in the bathrooms and laundry room, and they appeared clean. There appear to be quite a few permanent residents here, but all were well kept and uncluttered. We will stay again when traveling. We camped at The Pines RV Campground in a Motorhome.

Mama Gertie's Hideaway Campground, Swannanoa, North Carolina

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

This is an excellent, clean RV park which is easily accessed off I-40. Check-in was efficient and friendly. There are 3 tiers with the top tier having awesome mountain views everywhere you look. However, there is no shade, so that is a trade off, but there was direct sun for a just a few hours each day, so wasn't bad at all. The lowest tier has shade at most sites with the middle tier having limited shade. The drive to the top tier was not bad and totally doable. We were quite surprised by some of the negative comments we've read regarding the drive to the top. We found it to be no big deal. You are escorted to your site. The WiFi was excellent, the cable had plenty of channels, and we had good Verizon cell service. Our FHU, pull-thru site was gravel and was level. Our site was comfortably spaced from the neighboring site. There is an Ingles grocery, CVS Pharmacy, post office, and a few restaurants an easy drive right up the road. We would definitely stay here again when in the area. We camped at Mama Gertie's Hideaway Campground in a Motorhome.

Mountain View Campground, Hiawassee, Georgia

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This is an awesome campground with equally awesome views. It is small and cozy. The cozy, relaxing, and welcoming vibe is apparent when you drive in. The campground is quiet as it is not located on a busy road. Our FHU site was level with some shade. The WiFi and cable are top notch, and we had good Verizon cell service. There is a music barn/pavilion where the owners host pot lucks, karaoke, live entertainment, Sunday breakfasts, and movies. There are rockers to sit and enjoy the view or visit with fellow campers. The owners, Mike & Damien, interact with the campers and are very accommodating. We loved it so much that we've booked repeat visits. I think we've found our new favorite place to stay. We camped at Mountain View Campground in a Motorhome.

Ho-Hum RV Park, Carrabelle, Florida

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here a year ago, and this review is pretty much the same. You can't beat the view if you get a Tier A site. If in a MH, you drive in to your spot, so you face the water & have the view out the front. We had site #35, which is an end site, so we also had views out the curbside of the coach. Site #50 is also an end site with views out the road side. This is a no frills park that is very relaxing with nothing much to do but fish & read. If you want activities, this isn't the place. Carrabelle is small & charming with a couple of restaurants, grocery, Ace, and a marina. We had good Verizon service with ample cable channels. WiFi was good with an occasional slow down. FHU site was crushed shells and level. Sites are fairly close, but ok for us. Bring insect repellant as the no-seeums were out. Didn't have them a year ago, so I guess it just depends. No swimming beach, but can walk the shoreline at low tide with the dog. We would stay here again. We camped at Ho-Hum RV Park in a Motorhome.

Jetty Park Campground, Cape Canaveral, Florida

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Our 50 amp, FHU, back-in site was on a concrete slab and was level. Our site #352 was shaded, as were our friends' sites-#357 & #358. Not all sites have shade. I called before booking online to get insight from the CG as to shaded sites. There was ample space between our sites. CG is clean, well run, and check-in was efficient and friendly. The beach is a short walk away as is the pier. The port where cruise ships depart is nearby. There is a breakfast/lunch restaurant at the pier. More restaurants are a short drive away by car or bike. Lots of biking and walking space. Their WIFI was non existent, but we have our own hotspot, so no problem for us. We had plenty of OTA channels and good Verizon cell service. We'll definitely be back. We loved it here. We camped at Jetty Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Sanlan RV & Golf Resort, Lakeland, Florida

Date of Stay: January, 2018 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

We needed a place for 2 weeks while between houses. Since we're from Lakeland, we never had a reason to check out Sanlan. We were very impressed with what is right in our backyard. This place is extremely nice and one of the nicest we've ever stayed, though a little pricey. They offer a 5% discount for weekly stays and a 10% discount for monthly stays. There is a $1 per day charge for the dog and a $2 per day charge for an extra vehicle beyond the RV & toad. There is a bird/wildlife sanctuary with hiking trails, a lake, wetlands, ponds, golf course, and lots of snowbird activities. Very clean with lots of space for walking the dog and some nice views. Wifi went from good to slow, so mostly used my own. Cable was good. Location for shopping/restaurants is excellent. Easy, efficient check-in with super office staff. Our FHU site was a level, concrete site with a large concrete patio. There is a mobile home park section that is well kept and nice. If we ever have the need to stay locally again, we will definitely stay here. We camped at Sanlan RV & Golf Resort in a Motorhome.

Riverside Campground & Resort, Sevierville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: November, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice, clean family-owned RV park. Easily accessible from I-40. It is a little bit of a drive from the "strip" in Pigeon Forge. Holy cow-traffic in the area is horrible, but no getting around that, I guess. Friendly, easy check in. Another poster mentioned that the WiFi wasn't very good in the back section. Can't comment except to say that we were in the front section and our WiFi was very good. There aren't a lot of cable channels, but enough. Didn't try OTA channels. Sites are close, but doable. Very level, gravel, pull-thru FHU site. Our section had some trees. A couple of rows in the back section did not have shade. There are nice back-in river sites with trees. Plenty of space to walk the dog. Good Verizon coverage. We would stay here again. We camped at Riverside Campground & Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

For groceries & fast food, turn left on Hwy 66 (Winfield Dunn Hwy) instead of turning right and going into Sevierville or Pigeon Forge. There is a Food City & Burger King, among others. Much, much easier than going into Sevierville/Pigeon Forge.

Fair Harbor RV Park, Perry, Georgia

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed 1 night while traveling north from FL. Easy off/on I-75 with minimal noise outside the MH. No noise inside. Friendly, efficient check-in with good parking space while waiting to check-in. Very clean CG. Site was a level, 50 amp, pull-thru with some shade. Lots of cable channels and good WiFi. Good Verizon cell service. Had a dead battery on toad, and owner was very helpful and gave us a jump. This CG had a nice look with trees, and they were designed so there wasn't a slide issue. It had some ambiance and wasn't an open piece of land with RVs lined up in a row, which we appreciated. We would definitely stay here again when traveling. We camped at Fair Harbor RV Park in a Motorhome.

Coastal Georgia RV Resort, Brunswick, Georgia

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

Reviewed this a little over a year ago, and it's still a 10 to us. Very clean RV park for our 1-night stopover while traveling. However, if staying in the area, we would stay here longer term. Our site was a and, full-hookup, 50 amp concrete site that was level. No leveling was needed. Hookups are very convenient and easy. Site had patio & grill. Our site was on the first row entering the campground, so easy to access. It's a tad tight leaving, but wasn't a problem. There's a nice hedge between sites for privacy and ample room between sites. WiFi worked well and plenty of cable channels. Easy, friendly check-in. We would stay here again - most definitely! We camped at Coastal Georgia RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Lumberton / I-95 KOA, Lumberton, North Carolina

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This was a 2-night stopover on the way to FL. Easy off/on I-95. Friendly, easy check-in with escort to site. Pull-thru, 50 amp, FHU site was asphalt & level - no shade. WiFi worked well. No cable..had about 6 or 7 OTA channels. Some road noise outside coach - not bad. Didn't hear noise inside. Ample room between sites. Good overnight place or even if you need to be in the area. We would stay here agin. We camped at Lumberton / I-95 KOA in a Motorhome.

Cape Charles / Chesapeake Bay KOA, Cape Charles, Virginia

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $68.00
Overall Rating:

Easy check-in with escort to site. No shade at all except along 1 side of campground has slight shade on rear of coach. Our full-hookup, 50 amp site #299 was grass with soft dirt. They have runners down for the tires. Site was easily leveled at first, but our rear jacks with supports sunk, and we had to add double supports and re-level. Sites have ample space between to be comfortable. No sites really have a water view, but we had a "peek-a-b00" view between some trees. However, the water is a short walk. Dogs are allowed on the beach, but the part you're allowed on is very small as each side is a restricted wildlife refuge area with postings that no one is allowed. So, there's no walking the beach. They could've done a better job of picking up beer/coke cans & cigarette butts from the perimeter around the restaurant/bar/pool. The campground itself was clean, and the workers were courteous. They just need a little more attention to details. Food at restaurant was good. Their exit strategy is crazy and inconvenient without any real communication as to how to exit. You can't exit at the entrance, plus there's a dump station, and one would assume the exit would be convenient to that. It is not. So, make sure you find out how to exit before you are packed up to leave. There isn't much to do in the area except beach, pool, restaurant/bar. That seemed to be the reason most were there. There is a state park up the road, and Cape Charles has a marina/beach, but is very small. We erroneously thought the area had more..not the campground's fault. We won't be back to the area, but if we did, we'd try a different campground. It just wasn't for us. We camped at Cape Charles / Chesapeake Bay KOA in a Motorhome.

American Heritage RV Park, Williamsburg, Virginia

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $59.00
Overall Rating:

Decent place to stay to come visit Colonial Williamsburg & surrounding areas. Sites in the front section can be tight, but a lot of them have shade. Some are pull-thru & some are back-in. Our 50 amp, pull-thru, FHU site was level and was in the back section. There are small trees in this section, so no shade. I'm guessing this section is newer, so as the trees grow, they'll hopefully produce some shade. The sites are spaced well, and the way they are staggered makes it nice and spacious. Site is a concrete slab with a concrete patio. There is a parking space for 1 vehicle. They have a visitors overflow parking lot if you have more than 1 vehicle, which we did. Friendly, easy check-in. There's a nice pool along with a water slide (fee). The putt-putt didn't look usable - we didn't ask. Excellent WIFI & good cable. Easily accessible off I-64. We would stay here again if in the area. We camped at American Heritage RV Park in a Motorhome.

RVacation RV Park, Selma, North Carolina

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed 1 night while traveling. Nice, long pull-thru site, 50 amp, FHU and level. Plenty of space between sites with trees far enough away so no issue with slides. We had an extra car and had plenty of room for our 40' coach & 2 vehicles. This is a very nice park right off I-95. No road noise inside coach and minimal noise outside. Nice lake view from some sites. Fishing is catch & release - no license required. Easy, friendly check-in with escort to site. It is obvious the owner takes pride in his/her RV park. WIFI worked well, and plenty of OTA channels. Rate includes $4.00 for 2 extra adults less a GS discount. Without hesitation we would stay here again. We camped at RVacation RV Park in a Motorhome.

Magnolia Springs State Park, Millen, Georgia

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

This is a really nice, clean state park. Our 50 amp, pull-thru site was very spacious and level. There are woods surrounding the campground, so we had woods out our door. They only have 4 or 5 50-amp sites, and they are first come-first served. You can make a reservation, but not site specific. You choose your site once you arrive. There is no sewer hook up, but a dump station. We were attending a family reunion, and the others rented the cabins, which are very nice. We normally only stay at FHU sites, but had no choice. If they had sewer hook ups, this would be a 9 or even a 10. I would love to stay here longer, but we do not want to deal with no sewer. There are paddle boats/kayaks to rent and a splash pad that is free. There's also a playground. There's plenty of room to walk the dog. We received 3 channels on our OTA, had good Verizon cell service, and good WIFI using our hotspot. (Note: the cabins couldn't receive internet with our hotspot, but the CG was fine.) The rate reflects a 30% discount. We camped at Magnolia Springs State Park in a Motorhome.

Ho-Hum RV Park, Carrabelle, Florida

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

We loved this park. We were on a Tier A site, which pulls straight in, so we had a view of the Gulf of Mexico out our front & side windows. It was an awesome view!! Our FHU site was crushed shell/gravel and was level. Space between sites was ample to put out awning and chairs. Check-in was friendly & efficient. It doesn't have a swimming beach, but the shoreline is walkable at low tide and dogs are allowed.

Used my own WIFI. Cable worked great and plenty of channels. There's a fishing pier to watch the sunrise or fish.

If you're looking for activities, this is not the place. It is a no-frills RV park with a very laid back, low-key atmosphere. No one under 17 allowed. If you like to relax, read, fish, or just do nothing, then you've found your place!! We extended our stay by 1 night. We didn't want to leave. We camped at Ho-Hum RV Park in a Motorhome.
