Elkhorn Campground, Frankfort, Kentucky

Date of Stay: July, 2012 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Campsites are extremely narrow, could not open our awning. Campground seems well maintained, nearly full our weekend, lots of kids and pets, with some late night noise from kids playing after dark. Hand scooped ice cream in the store is fabulous. Probably will not return due to skinny sites for the price. A bit difficult to maneuver a 35 foot RV. We camped at Elkhorn Campground in a Motorhome.

TeePee Camprground, Mackinaw City, Michigan

Date of Stay: July, 2012 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Sites are a little close together. Beach and waterfront view is glorious. Hosts are friendly and helpful. Quiet hours are NOT enforced. No sewer hookups and no pump out available. You may borrow a portable waste tank to hand dump at dump station if you are there more than a couple of days. It was really noisy late at night with kids up late, loud partying neighbors. Very few private campgrounds on the Great Lakes, but we will not return due to late night noise and no pump out service with no sewer hookups at any site. We camped at TeePee Camprground in a Travel Trailer.

Cherokee / Great Smokies KOA, Cherokee, North Carolina

Date of Stay: May, 2012 - $53.00
Overall Rating:

Have stayed here several times over the years, in both a trailer or a Kamping Kottage on the river. Even though this is a large campground, the sites are fairly good sized, most campers are nice and polite, camp host is very friendly and helpful. We held our wedding here (5/12/12) and they did everything possible to make our wedding special and easy. Azaleas were in bloom and photos turned out great. We will return here soon in our new motorhome in September. Love this campground. We camped at Cherokee / Great Smokies KOA in a Travel Trailer.
