Interlake RV Park, Rhinebeck, New York

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice campground. It is built on several levels. Staff was very kind and very helpful with all questions. Our site was easy to back into and was shaded: which was nice since we travel with dogs. Very pet friendly campground. Pool area was very nice and clean. They also have a snack bar area, but we didn't use that.

One major down side is that Verizon has no cell service is this area. (Not the campground fault but just a FYI.) Only place to make calls on our cells was by the store. The campground WI-FI was ok during the day and much better (faster) in the evening. Another thing is that the mosquitoes were vicious: even with a campfire and bug spray it was difficult to sit out side at night. That is why the seasonal sites have enclosed nets on their patios. Again no fault of the campground. Our rate was with our Good Sam discount. We would stay here again. We camped at Interlake RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Mill Bridge Village Camp Resort, Ronks, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $56.00
Overall Rating:

This is a small quiet campground. Our site was dirt/gravel that backed up to the creek and was level. Our site had nice tree cover which was nice for our dogs to stay in the shade. There are sites right in front of the office that don't have any shade so we were glad we didn't have one of those. It is next to a working farm. It was nice to sit by the campfire and hear the horse and buggy go by on the road. Very peaceful. An Amish family came around selling hand crafted items in the evening. Very close to activities of Lancaster and Strasburg. Staff was pleasant on checking in. Pool was clean but not heated. We would stay here again. We camped at Mill Bridge Village Camp Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Watkins Glen / Corning KOA, Watkins Glen, New York

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $72.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed here a few times. They are really the only campground in the Watkins Glen area -other then the state parks that only have electric hook ups so it you want full hook this is the only place you have to go. They are getting very expensive- the rates go up each year and they really don't go down after Labor Day . They have many wide open sites without trees that are pull through. We always pick our site so we can have a grassy site with trees. It was very easy to back into. I do agree with other reviews that the wristbands are over kill not really sure why they are needed. They are always adding new things for children to do. Like the zip line and jumping pillows. The wifi was slow at times but easy to connect to. The staff was helpful and friendly at check in. We love the area so I am sure we will stay here again. We camped at Watkins Glen / Corning KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The town of Watkins Glen is a nice small town. Plan to visit and walk the glen at Watkins Glen state park. At the top of Seneca Lake which is called the Windmill Farm. Nice place to go for flowers, fruits veggies and even wine tasting. They are only open on Saturday. A nice place to eat is Jerlando's on the main street in Watkins Glen.

Lackawanna State Park, Dalton, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

We camped here over Memorial Day weekend. We had a back in site next to the restroom. They have large deep sinks outside of the restroom so it is easy to wash dishes there. Sites are very shaded and tend to be narrow but no problems to get slides out. Very quiet campground for a holiday weekend. The lake is large and has easy access if you have a boat. Pool was closed at our visit because they are doing repairs to it. This wasn't our first visit here and we will be going back again. We camped at Lackawanna State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

White Oak Campground, Strasburg, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for 4 days. It is a clean and quiet campground. Staff was very nice and helpful. Wifi was a little slow but easy to connect to. We had a back in site in the shade. We had no problem backing into it. The pool was great. Very clean. It is was very relaxing to sit poolside and watch the horse and buggies go by. On Saturday afternoon a woman who came through the campground with baked goods- they were very delicious. There is so much to do in the area you need to come numerous times to see it all. We will stay here again. We camped at White Oak Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Cherrystone Family Camping & RV Resort, Cape Charles, Virginia

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for 5 days. It was a very nice campground. The check in staff was not the friendliest but the rest of the staff we encountered were helpful and friendly. The wifi was good. Easy to connect to. The sites were close. This was the first time we found that they want to park sideways across the site and not back in. We didn't know this and we backed in so having long enough sewer connection was an issue. We didn't use the showers/restroom at all. There are plenty of activities to do here - fishing, crabbing, paddle boats and horse & buggy ride on Sunday evening. The store is well stocked which is great because the nearest Wal-Mart is 40 minutes away. We did get the Sunday morning breakfast at the restaurant - it was good. The views and sunsets are amazing. We were there when the park was not the fullest which was nice. The memorial site that they made is a wonderful tribute to those who lost their lives there during a the summer of 2014 during a trouble storm. We would stay there again. Very close to the Cape Charles beach. We camped at Cherrystone Family Camping & RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Twin Streams Campground, Morris, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: September, 2014 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

We enjoyed our long weekend here. It is a very nice clean campground. The owners were nice and friendly. Our site was a large grassy area that was level and easy to back into. The restrooms were clean. The store was stocked with a little of everything and had good prices. There were no planned activities for children at the time of our stay. The cable was great and so was the Wi-fi. It is about a 10 minute drive to the town of Wellsboro. We will stay there again I am sure. We camped at Twin Streams Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Midway Campground Resort (formerly Statesville East I-40 Winston-Salem, Statesville, North Carolina

Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for 1 week. It is an older campground and not a KOA campground any more. We were happy with the campground. It was very quiet during the week. No activities planned during the week but on the weekend they did have activities for children. Staff was friendly. Pool was very clean. Our site was a pull-through by the pond and had a nice deck for us to use. Bathhouses were nice, clean and well ventilated, with good lighting as was the laundry room. The down side is the Wi-Fi. It was very slow but the office did warn us about that on check-in. The cable was good. If you are looking for fancy this might not be your place. If you want quiet and laid back this is a good place for you. We would stay there again. We camped at Midway Campground Resort (formerly Statesville East I-40 Winston-Salem in a Fifth Wheel.

Endless Caverns Resort, New Market, Virginia

Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

It is easy to find. When we arrived we were greeted by friendly staff. We got an escort to our site. The site was level and clean. They are little close but that wasn't an issue for us. They even have lighted electrical boxes if you get there after dark. Wi-Fi signal was strong was easy to connect to. We arrived after a long travel day. It was rainy so we didn't want to cook. They told us about a local place that delivered right to the campsite. The food was good and great prices. Since we were there just 1 night we did use the bathhouse- it was very clean and neat. We did the tour of the caverns - you get a discount on it. The tour was nice. We we would stay there again. Price is with Good Sam discount and taxes. We camped at Endless Caverns Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

1000 Islands / Association Island KOA , Henderson Harbor, New York

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $70.00
Overall Rating:

This was our second visit to Association Island. We have seen improvements from last year since they became a KOA campground. Yes there is a strong algae smell in the office area but we camped on the water in the H sites so the smell was not there at all. We had AT&T and Net 10 phones which got good reception. The Wi-Fi did work at our site but was a little slow at times. They do allow dogs. We didn't use the boat dock or access. They do have a pool which was very clean. One night they had a band in the club house area. Very friendly staff. We re-booked for next year. We camped at 1000 Islands / Association Island KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Twin Grove RV Resort & Cottages, Pine Grove, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: July, 2012 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

We enjoyed our stay here. Since the last time we stayed here, they have done many improvements. They have added another pool with a water slide. They have more sites. Also added a fenced dog area. The only down side is that there is not a lot of shade at this time, but they have many small trees planted so in the years to come this should be better. Have a very well stocked store. They had activities planned all day on the weekend that we stayed so the kids stayed busy and were not bored. We enjoyed our stay and would go back again. We camped at Twin Grove RV Resort & Cottages in a Fifth Wheel.
