Sites at this campground have a level concrete pad and adjacent concrete and asphalt paved patio and parking area, all in great condition. The campground roads appeared to have been recently resurfaced. Most sites near the front of the campground were shaded while sites near the back were more open. Sites are not large but adequate, especially if you are visiting to explore the area rather than hangout at the campground. Both pull through and back in sites are available. Utilities were in mostly good condition although several sites contained what appeared to be two sewer connections and it was not clear which one to use. Cable channel selection was extensive although the coaxial cable connection was in poor condition resulting in reduced picture quality. We enjoyed this campground and would stay here again.

Sites at this campground are wide open, very narrow and just long enough for larger units. Poor drainage appeared to be an issue at several sites, although you can only do so much when surrounded by water and the land is nearly flat. This campground has few amenities and frills, but most people are here for the excellent location and access to all the shore has to offer. Recently constructed sidewalks provide easy access to the state park beach, and other improvements, including a path along the inlet, are under construction. The value this campground provides is tough to beat.

We have spent several nights here each year for the past several years. The campground continues to be a great option for families with plenty of activities, including the lake (swimming, fishing, boating), playground, nature center, aviary, and lots of hiking trails. Most sites are deep, wooded, and quite private.

This campground was fairly easy to access from I-95. The owner was very friendly and escorted us to our site. The pull through site was on the short side, but was fairly level. Shade at the sites appeared limited. The site had full hookups (water, electric, and sewer). Campground amenities appeared limited and the facilities in need of refurbishment. Road noise from I-95 was noticeable, but tolerable. The campground was adequate for an overnight stay.

We stayed in a premium site that was deep and well shaded. The concrete pad was very level and more than adequate. The facilities and campground in general are impeccable. The campground stores were well stocked with food, drinks, and souvenirs. The campground has extensive activities and amenities for when you aren’t in the parks. The pools were excellent although a little warm. This is a truly amazing campground. Nightly rate is the average rate paid.

This campground was easy to access from I-95. The pull through site was long and fairly level and well shaded. The site had full hookups (water, electric, sewer, and cable). Campground amenities appeared limited. The playground area was small, but adequate. The swimming pool appeared to be algae filled and in need of maintenance. Road noise from I-95 was noticeable, but easily tolerable. Overall, this campground is a great option for an overnight stay.

The sites at this campground are small and there is little privacy. Trees provide shade at some of the sites, but many of the sites are wide open. Our site had full hookups (water, electric, sewer, and cable). The water pressure seemed low compared to other campgrounds at which we have stayed and the water had a brown tint to it, but was otherwise fine. The cable channel lineup was limited. The stone surface at many sites appeared as if it could use replenishing as water tended to pond and drainage was fairly poor. The campground has many amenities, including two very nice pools (one with water slides), bouncing pillow, playgrounds, half basketball court, horseshoe pits, bocce ball, and 9 hole mini golf in urgent need of repair. Bus service to area attractions is also available. The campground is minutes away from many attractions, including the Virginia aquarium, Virginia Beach boardwalk and ocean front, Ocean Breeze water park, go kart tracks, and mini golf. The jets from Oceana NAS were noticeable but easily tolerable.

This campground was one of only a few we found with full hookups (water, sewer, electric, cable) within a reasonable distance of Philadelphia area attractions (1 hour +/-). The sites are highly varied with some being small, level areas in the open (mostly near the front of the campground) and others being rocky, undulating areas in the woods. The campground owner/host gave us a nice, level site near the playground with paved areas on both sides of the camper. We did not see another site like this and suspect this site was originally intended for handicapped guests. The playground is extensive, but antiquated. Even though the setting is fairly rural, there is solid cell phone service, including data (for Verizon at least). During our stay, we were away from the campground all day. The most significant negative we experienced was that someone appeared to have tampered with several items at our site while we were gone, primarily the thumb locks on our exterior storage compartments. For what it’s worth, we noted that many of the guests appeared to be seasonal/long-term as opposed to vacationing. As others have stated, there is limited site distance to the left when leaving the campground and vehicles tend to exceed the speed limit on Allentown Road.

Stayed in Ash loop which offers electric. No water or sewer at individual sites, but several water spigots are located around the loop for filling up on your way in or periodically during your stay. Bathhouse at center of loop is updated and clean, and offers a convenient area to wash and rinse dishes. Most sites are deep (our site was a good 75 feet from the loop road to the back) and very private. Some of the activities include the lake (swimming, fishing, boating), playground, nature center, aviary, and lots of hiking trails. Overall great family campground, even if there is no water/sewer at the site.

The sites at this campground are small and there is little privacy. However, if you are using this campground as a staging area to visit local attractions and are away much of the day, this is not really an issue. There are many amenities here, including pools (at least one of which is heated), playgrounds, on site dining, laundry facilities, and more. The camping supply store is excellent and is as well stocked as some more popular retail stores. There is convenient access to a great public transportation system (i.e., the Washington Metro). Overall, this campground is a solid option for visiting Baltimore/Washington, D.C. area attractions.
