Gilbert Lake State Park, Laurens, New York

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed in an electric camp site, which meant full sun, but there was always a breeze. We were close to the restrooms. Restrooms were better than some RV parks we have seen, always clean. Private showers (two men, two women, two handicapped) Weird, never had to wait though? We will return. We camped at Gilbert Lake State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Lake George RV Park, Lake George, New York

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $95.00
Overall Rating:

What can be said that wasn't said before. It is expensive if you figure we brought our hotel room with us, but they are not just giving you a plot of land to sit on. They give you so much more. Two free movies every night, free shows on the weekends, free activities, free shuttle, free dog park, 3 pools, two arcades, cafe, etc. Everyone working there was great. We will return. We camped at Lake George RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Schedule time to enjoy the RV park. We did a lot of activities outside the park which meant little relaxation time in the park.

King Phillip's Campground, Lake George, New York

Date of Stay: July, 2012 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

We had a site with full hookups so we did not use the showers. The restroom near the pool was clean. The restroom near our site was old and buggy. The restroom near the playground was new with private shower rooms. It appears they are upgrading them all. Park has MANY seasonal / full time units mixed in with the vacationers. Some were not well kept. Pet friendly they are not. Bicycling around the park with kids, I heard the staff talking to two separate vacationers to keep their dogs from barking and we had a note left on our door our first day telling us to keep our dog quiet. (We went to the front desk and were gone 20 minutes.) The rest of our stay, we had the windows closed and the AC on (not really camping). The Staff was extremely pleasant though. Park is a mix of flat and hillside. We camped at King Phillip's Campground in a Travel Trailer.

White Pines Campsites, Barkhamsted, Connecticut

Date of Stay: July, 2012 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

The most disgusting place I have seen. Mostly full time Hatfield / McCoy antique trailers. Bathrooms were ancient with plywood covering holes in the floor and broken windows. I wouldn't have used the showers if I fell in the septic system. Roads (if you can call them that) were potholes and boulders where you had squeeze through trees. You need to rent an access card to get back in the front gate after you leave. If the store is closed, you can't get in, even though the sign says access until 11pm. We found that out the hard way at 6pm. Luckily I have a Jeep and they have a poor fence. "Fishing pond" is 50 feet from the pump out. Avoid at all cost. We camped at White Pines Campsites in a Travel Trailer.

North-South Lake, Haines Falls, New York

Date of Stay: June, 2012 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here two nights. The bathrooms were clean and looked like they were recently built. Private shower rooms were nice. I did not have cellular service though that might be a plus to some. Beach was clean with a lifeguard. We will stay here again. We camped at North-South Lake in a Travel Trailer.
