Camp Lake Jasper RV Resort, Hardeeville, South Carolina

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful campground a little bit off the interstate. We called and made a reservation on the day we were to arrive. Since we arrived after the office was closed we were left a packet by the office. Our site was level. Our site had a firepit, picnic table and concrete patio. We did not use any of the facilities. Roads were easy to navigate. The WiFi was good as was the cable TV with over 70 channels. We camped at Camp Lake Jasper RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Woodland Park Inc., Ebensburg, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

We parked the RV here two nights while visiting family nearby. We did not stay in the rig or use any of the facilities. The owner is pleasant. The park is in rough shape and 99% of the residents are long term. There are 6 pull-thru sites. We did feel that the campground was safe and felt comfortable leaving the RV unattended. Because there is not much in/out traffic small overhead branches caught the top of the RV as we were going to and from our site. We were not able to get completely level. We camped at Woodland Park Inc. in a Motorhome.

While exploring Johnstown Flood Memorial we found 1889 Park in South Fork which had 9 sites. If we return to the area this would be a better and closer choice.

Shreveport / Bossier City KOA (formerly Tall Pines RV Park), Shreveport, Louisiana

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

It is a couple of miles off the highway. Quiet, clean park. All the sites have a metal table and 4 chairs and a concrete patio. We stayed in site # 34 this time and much preferred that over the sites we have stayed in before... the sites # 1 - 30 required a tight right hand turn after leaving the registration area. Sites # 31 - 60 are much easier to navigate. The WiFi and cable TV were good. We camped at Shreveport / Bossier City KOA (formerly Tall Pines RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Azalea Acres RV Park, Robertsdale, Alabama

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed here before and were not disappointed again. The staff is terrific. This is an all adult RV Park (children can stay for overnight visits or for up to 2 weeks). This appeals to snowbirds. Staff related that they keep sites # 1-3 open for overnight or short stays. The site had a huge concrete pad. The rest of the site was grass and we were not right on top of our neighbors. We did not use any of the facilities. WiFi and Cable TV were good. The only problem we saw was the abundance of fire ants. We have them where we live but if you are not familiar with them be careful walking through the grass watching for their mounds. We camped at Azalea Acres RV Park in a Motorhome.

Quebec City KOA, Saint Nicolas, Quebec

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

Roads are very tight and a tad confusing. Sites in the lower area are accessed down a steep hill, turning left you are faced with a divided road. You choose which side to drive down based on where your site is. We were lucky, but I could see that there might be a problem if someone was going in and someone else going out. The sites are close. There is a pool, playground and bounce pillow all at the front of the park. The park was quiet. One of the staff drives around in the golf cart selling bundles of firewood. There are several over the air TV channels available, most in French. We were not successful in getting a satellite signal. The WiFi slow but adequate. We camped at Quebec City KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There is a shuttle to Old Quebec for $18 per person but if you purchase a tour with Quebec tours, $35, the cost for the shuttle is reduced to $5. We chose to drive into Quebec City and park in one of the public lots, about a 20 minute drive away, for $18 for all day. There is an IGA near the exit from the highway.

Montreal South KOA, St. Philippe de Laprairie, Quebec

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $64.00
Overall Rating:

Nice quiet park. Staff was friendly and helpful. Roads are a little tight and we were glad we had unhitched the car before going to our site. Our site was a large and long pull-thru. There was plenty of shade and the trees were well trimmed. Over the air TV was adequate. We could not get a satellite signal. The WiFi was slow. We drove to the subway station at Longueil, parked for $9 per day, and took the subway into and all around Montreal, 3 days $18. We did not use any of the amenities or laundry. The pool looked lovely. There was also a nice playground and putt putt course, fee applies for the latter. We camped at Montreal South KOA in a Motorhome.

Lone Pine Campsites, Colchester, Vermont

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $51.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful campground. Lots of seasonal sites with "park models" sitting on them, but there are plenty of sites for RVs and tents. The upper sites do not have sewer and are close. The staff was pleasant. When we registered we had to sign a copy of the rules, but they were nothing out of the ordinary. There are lots of planned activities and you can check out sports equipment for bocce, tennis, basketball, miniature golf. Even though I made my reservation online they honored the Good Sam discount for our entire stay. There is cable TV in some sites. The WiFi is throughout the park, but is paid. Laundry is $1.50 for both wash and dry, 1 hour. We camped at Lone Pine Campsites in a Motorhome.

Quechee / Pine Valley KOA, White River Junction, Vermont

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

One of the nicest KOAs we have stayed at. The kamper staff could not have been more welcoming. We were escorted to our shady site and he didn't leave until we had our jacks down and were plugged into electricity. They had a prepared list of things to do in the area, near and far. Because of their list we found out about the Windsor-Cornish Covered bridge...the longest covered bridge in the country. There are plenty of things to do at the RV park including hayrides and evening movies. There was limited cable TV but the channels were clear. The WiFi was not good at our site. The garbage and recycling is picked up at your site. Laundry was small for the size of the park, 4 washers/dryers. $2.50 for wash and $2.00 to dry for 45 minutes. We camped at Quechee / Pine Valley KOA in a Motorhome.

Sea-Vu West Premier RV Resort, Wells, Maine

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $74.00
Overall Rating:

What a lovely park located halfway between York and Kennebunk in the town of Wells. Most of the park is owner owned park models, but there are 40 RV grassy and very open sites. There was a table and firepit. We only stayed one night while visiting the area. There is a security gate to go in and out. Deposit $10 for the keycard. When we were finished touring we turned ours back to the office so we would not forget to return it. The WiFi was not very good. The park is right on the trolley line which offers service to the beach, attractions, shopping and restaurants. Information on the trolley is available in the office. We camped at Sea-Vu West Premier RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Boston Minuteman Campground, Littleton, Massachusetts

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

This park was close to transportation into Boston and the park provided plenty of information, both printed and by talking to them in person, on how to get into Boston via train or automobile. We chose to ride the train which went right into North Station. On Sunday we went to the Littleton Station and on Monday used the West Concord station. Both provide paid parking using the PaybyPhone app. You can buy your roundtrip tickets on the train, and if applicable, be sure to request the senior discount. The front desk staff was pleasant. The roads are pretty tight. We were escorted to our site, but he gave us some wrong information. He was helping us back into our site and luckily one of us was outside and saw that he was about to have us turn into the fence. He also told us to hitch up before we left our site. If we had done so we would not have been able to make the turn out. For back-in sites there is no convenient place to hitch and unhitch except near the office. Occasionally, you could hear the commuter train horns. There was a table and a fireplace made of local stones at most sites. Our site, #70, was in a cul-de-sac at the bottom of an incline. Laundry was $2.00 for washer and $.25 for 5 minutes for oversize dryer. I was able to dry my single load for $.75. We camped at Boston Minuteman Campground in a Motorhome.

Black Bear Campground, Florida, New York

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful, quiet park a little off the beaten path, but fairly close to transportation to NYC. The staff was pleasant and helpful. They had information on the various modes of transportation. The bus stop in Warwick was about 20 minutes away, had free parking and took about 2 hours into the Port Authority. The train station in Peekskill was closer, didn't have free parking, and went into Grand Central Station. There are over 150 sites spread over a large area you can see your neighbor, but they are not that close. Our site had a table and fire pit. We had a back-in site that provided plenty of shade. The pull-thru sites were in full sun. There are daily activities and miniature golf, basketball, shuffle board. An added bonus one evening when returning to our site we saw a doe and her two fawns in the meadow. The doe ran off right away but the fawns were very curious and didn't run away until the engine of our hybrid car switched on. Laundry was $2.50 and dryer was $2.00. We camped at Black Bear Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The train station in Peekskill was deceiving. In large print the lot said FREE PARKING. Underneath in tiny print it said weekends and holidays. We returned from our trip into NYC to find a $75 ticket. The meters were only good for 3 hours and we did not find any public parking

Lovely park with plenty of trees. The staff was wonderful and escorted to our site. The site was gravel, but the interior roads were paved and easy to navigate. There is a nice pool and playground, neither of which we used. Our welcome packet included directions to some of the nearby sites. We visited Hershey Chocolate World. Staunton / Walnut Hills KOA, Staunton, Virginia

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

This is a beautiful campground spread around a lake. Moving around the campground appears challenging at first. Once we checked in we had to drive around the park back to the entrance and then enter the non-sewer area we had reserved. The following morning, as there was no right turn to the exit from our site, we had to drive around the campground again to exit. We were in a non-sewer, pull-thru site. Other areas of the campground were more wooded, but all seemed quite nice. We camped at Staunton / Walnut Hills KOA in a Motorhome.

Crossville / I-40 KOA , Crossville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

This is a lovely park off the interstate, so no noise. We were greeted at the door with a red carpet. The staff was very pleasant. We were escorted to our site. We had one of the concrete pads. The only issue with our site was that the patio area was raised a bit above the pad site and our step just barely cleared when it was extended. The interior roads were easy to navigate. We camped at Crossville / I-40 KOA in a Motorhome.

Delta Ridge RV Park, Inc., Forrest City, Arkansas

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

As the others have said this is a no-frills park that is great for an overnight stop. We just missed the turn and called the owner who guided us to the location. Turn right at the stop light, an Exon station, and then turn right again after the wooden fence. The park is straight ahead on a little gravel road. The owner guided us to our spot and told us to get settled and he would be back to get our check. Although, we were within view of I-40 we did not hear any road noise. This park seems to fill up so I would suggest giving the park a call or send an email on the day of arrival at the latest to have a spot waiting. We would stay there again if we are in the area. We camped at Delta Ridge RV Park, Inc. in a Motorhome.
