Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Camp-Resort: Guadalupe River, Kerrville, Texas

Date of Stay: November, 2016 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

Park is very large and just about all sites have plenty of room, we stayed in Site 57 which is a river site. The jumping pillow was closer to the sites than I expected but it wasn't awfully noisy. The space between the sites to the river is very nice with large trees and grassy area some porch swings hang from some of the trees. The people were very nice and I can't complain about customer service at all, I went to buy a bundle of fire wood, so I paid and the lady said "they are delivering it to your site right now", by the time I walked back to the site a guy was unloading it.

The river is very nice. The kids fed the ducks and fish some bread. The camp store sells some catfish bait, that's the only bait they sell, so If you plan on fishing I'd suggest buying some worms or crickets. The only bite my kids got was from a grasshopper that I had caught.

The fire pits were in a strange place toward the front of the sites and almost too close to our neighbor, they were chained down. I asked a few sites down from me if they had moved theirs to the back and they said a worker came with bolt cutters and told them they could move it to the back if they wanted to, wish I would have asked on my first day:-) We camped at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Camp-Resort: Guadalupe River in a Travel Trailer.

Lake Pointe RV Resort, Canyon Lake, Texas

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed 3 nights over Labor Day weekend, in the D loop spot 27.

I don't understand the one review that said "parking lot campground", the full hookup sites are kind of like that but the rest of the campground is a big loop and the majority of the sites are spacious. I liked the area of D27ish on the outside of the loop, they are spacious and backup to the woods/lake view. Even though the sites don't have sewer hook ups they allow you to drain your gray water with a water hose at least 10 feet from the site, I had a 75 foot hose that ran all the way into the woods and looks like most do it that way, there are some long term (monthly) campers in the area that use a honey wagon. The deer are very cool to see walking around the campground, the pool is nice, family pool is a large pool, adult pool is smaller but in a neat location.

The playground is run down, and the ride on toys scattered around it are all broken, there were teenagers throwing them around and such one evening until we walked up and told them to stop and let the small kids play.

Good location with grocery store within a couple miles, Baja BBQ restaurant at the Canyon Lake marina is well worth a visit and only about 3 miles or so.

Boat parking lot was a mess with boats and trailers scattered and pointing all different directions...but it was A holiday weekend so I chalk that up to that reason.

I'll be visiting again. We camped at Lake Pointe RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Baja BBq at the marina.

If you are military affiliated, the Randolph and Fort Sam recreation areas are just a few miles away, Ft Sam area is just across the cove.
