Louisville North Campground (formerly Louisville Metro KOA), Clarksville, Indiana

Date of Stay: July, 2012 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Do I really have to give 1 point? This was a 0!!!! The worst campground I ever stayed at so far. Don't know how this one made it to be a KOA Franchise. We are usually staying at KOA's cause they are close to Interstates and normally have a good standard: but not this one. Every Wal-Mart parking lot has more flair and more room for our camper than this campground. It looks like a concrete parking lot close to the railway! Sites are small and very close together. Hookups are not set up great. Very high water pressure. Difficult access right now due to construction zones. No fire pits. The dog walk is a bad joke: just a stretch of gravel and a trashcan. For me this is not a dog-friendly park. Everything is gray concrete with 1 or 2 small grass areas. I will definitely never stay here again. The pricing for what you get is just ridiculous. Only plus is the WiFi. We camped at Louisville North Campground (formerly Louisville Metro KOA) in a Fifth Wheel.

Wytheville KOA, Wytheville, Virginia

Date of Stay: July, 2012 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Very well located campground. Clean park with a big pet area. My dogs loved to run around off leash here. Some of the sites are a little bit close together but there is still enough room for slide-outs on both sides. Free WiFi. Lots of trees and grass areas. I would camp here again. We camped at Wytheville KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Smith Lake Army RV Park (Military FamCamp), Fort Bragg Army Post, North Carolina

Date of Stay: July, 2012 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

Nice campground close to Fort Bragg. Huge sites: level concrete, fire pits and picnic tables. Minus is that there is no Wi-Fi, and for lots of the sites you need an extra sewer hose because the hook-ups are on the wrong sides. Hiking and mountain biking trails. We've had a great time with the dogs. Bring mosquito spray!! We camped at Smith Lake Army RV Park (Military FamCamp) in a Fifth Wheel.

Mama Gertie's Hideaway Campground, Swannanoa, North Carolina

Date of Stay: July, 2012 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

This is by far our favorite campground. The staff is always friendly and the restrooms, showers and the laundry room are very clean. The area is beautiful and this campground in the mountains is the best. We hope they will have the sites up hill with a view ready when we'll camp there again. The whole campground is just very well maintained and set up. Free WiFi! Only con we can think of is that a fenced pet area would be great to let the dogs off leash. We camped at Mama Gertie's Hideaway Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Renfro Valley KOA, Mount Vernon, Kentucky

Date of Stay: July, 2012 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice Park in a beautiful area. Easy access to interstate but no road noise. Friendly staff. Modern and clean restrooms and showers. Free WiFi and cable TV. Pet and Kid friendly. We were here the second time now and will definitely come back. Only con is that there is no blacktop or gravels in front of the sites in the sitting area. After a rain it can get a little bit muddy. We camped at Renfro Valley KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Suncatcher Lake Campground, Leavenworth, Kansas

Date of Stay: June, 2012 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

Nicely located but not well maintained. Lots of permanent trailers: some of the permanent campers seem not to care at all about clean sites. Very nice owner. Great price and free WiFi. It would have been great if there would have been a picnic table and a fire pit at the site. We camped at Suncatcher Lake Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Lansing Cottonwood Campground, Lansing, Michigan

Date of Stay: June, 2012 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Not very clean park. Sites are not level. Some campsites are facing each other. Our camper faced one from a family that lived here permanently. They did not keep their site clean at all and sent their dog on a long leash outside to go potty (sure that they did not pick up the waste). The whole park seems like the owners don't care a lot. We stayed here this second time because of the location. We will not come back. Plus is the free WiFi and that there are lots of trees and green areas in the park. We camped at Lansing Cottonwood Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Linwood Beach Marina & Campground, Linwood, Michigan

Date of Stay: June, 2012 - $40.00

Clean campground with big sites and full hook-ups. Con is that there is no WiFi available. There is not really a beach, only the marina with bay access. Many permanent campers. We camped at Linwood Beach Marina & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
