Jacksonville North / St. Marys KOA, Kingsland, Georgia

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

The postives: friendly staff, shady sites, food available onsite, lots of potential. Negatives: narrow access lanes leading to our site. Parked cars and temporary tents/makeshift garages impacting lanes at rear of park where our site was located. Sites very narrow. Many sites only have 30 amp power. Cable TV lines running above ground in many places. Recycle bins overflowing. Picnic table dilapidated. This can't possibly meet KOA's corporate standards. We camped at Jacksonville North / St. Marys KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Try to get a site in front rows of park: A, B, C, as they are much nicer and have transient campers, not long term, run down camper units. However, mostly 30 amp sites.

Old Mill Stream Campground, Lancaster, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed in this park many times over the last 10 years and it is still one of our favorites. The location is great for visiting Lancaster and the surrounding areas. The faculties are clean and the staff friendly. The WiFi worked well, but the TV had a little interference.

The entrance to the park has changed. You now enter thru Dutch Wonderland. The access road is OK, with several sweeping turn, but you can negotiate it with your toad connected. Stay in the right lane to enter the campground. I am sure this is for safety reasons as getting out onto Route 30 can be challenging due to the high amount of traffic.

I didn't rate the park as high as I have previously for the following reasons: Rates have continued to climb, while some services have eroded, such as: now having to take your garbage to a dumpster rather than curbside pickup. This requires all campers to negotiate thru the park with kids on the streets-very unsafe. Also, getting into the park when east bound on Route 30 is challenging due to the short left turn green arrow. Getting out of the park you have to got thru the parking lot and stop at a crosswalk with many people trying to cross to enter the theme park. When you finally get to the stop light it's posted "No Turn on Red," which doesn't make sense as the lanes are wide open when traffic is entering the park on left arrow off of Route 30. Overall, the traffic pattern doesn't seem well thought out. We camped at Old Mill Stream Campground in a Motorhome.
