Cedar Breaks RV (formerly Country Aire RV Park), Cedar City, Utah

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

The new owners are doing a great job of rehabbing this park. Power, water, sewer, pull through sites, curbing with grass pad for each site, picnic tables at some site will be at all. Everything works well. Three or four rows are finished now. Nice office space, efficient and friendly front office. We got 4 over-the-air TV channels and park is trying a new entertainment offering by loaning Amazon Fire sticks. Worked well. Town is pretty with several groceries and many restaurants. We would stay there again. We camped at Cedar Breaks RV (formerly Country Aire RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Gold Ranch Casino & RV Resort (formerly Terrible's Gold Ranch Casino), Verdi, Nevada

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This 300+ space park had only 5 available spaces when we arrived so the lady in the office was very busy, but she went way out of her way to accommodate us. The park offers full-hookup sites with long asphalt pads and some sites have grass and most have a tree. There is, of course, a casino, a cafe, coffee shop, quick shop with sub sandwiches, and a fuel station. It is conveniently located at Exit 2 on I-80. In fact, when you exit, you are at their entrance. We stayed 2 nights and would stay here again. There is some traffic noise. We camped at Gold Ranch Casino & RV Resort (formerly Terrible's Gold Ranch Casino) in a Motorhome.

Susanville RV Park, Susanville, California

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Susanville RV Park was one of the cleanest parks I've seen, and we travel all over the US and parts of CA. The restrooms and showers were not new, but immaculate. There is a really nice laundry with no machines out-of-order. Pads were concrete, some cracked, but not crumbling. Sites had grass and some shrubs and trees, all very clean and neatly trimmed. Host and hostess were pleasant and efficient. There was no traffic or air-traffic noises. The only thing that was bothersome was all the security lights, but they are there for our benefit. We would definitely recommend this park. We camped at Susanville RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We drove through Susanville, but did not stop. It looked like a nice town with many restaurants and fast food options. We ordered pizza to be delivered from Pizza Factory and it was excellent. We saw two movie theatres. I would have liked to stay a couple of days, but no time.

Blue Cedars RV Park and Campground, Prince George, British Columbia

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

Blue Cedars is a pretty park for BC. We were there with an RV caravan so do not know what the rate was. The man in the office was rude to my husband (and several other people). They had double booked another caravan during our stay and I'm sure that caused him some grief. The power was our chief complaint. It was supposed to be 30 amp, but we couldn't even make coffee without the generator. When we left the power plugged in, it kept going on and off. It wouldn't even run fans. Our site was barely long enough for our 30 foot MH with the car in the road. We camped at Blue Cedars RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

The town seemed nice, but an RCMP who was staying in the park told us that St. George is a high crime area so we should be sure to keep things locked up.

Coquihalla Campground, Hope, British Columbia

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

The park is pretty, like being in a forest, and probably good if you are in a tent or RV around 20 feet long. There were few spaces available to us at 30 feet long. The electrical grid was inadequate. We had a 30 amp site, but could not run air conditioner or even microwave without the generator. Another guest told me they had the ONLY 50 amp site. Our other problem was the dust - even the trees were dirty. Interior roads and sites were all dirt, no gravel or anything. The laundry was very small - 2 each washers and dryers. In the comfort station by us, all the women's (pay) showers were out of order. There were several play areas for children and safe bicycle riding. We camped at Coquihalla Campground in a Motorhome.

Trails West Campground, Glasgow, Montana

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Using the Passport America discount made this a good value for a short stay. It is basically a gravel parking lot behind the Best Western Hotel. Sites are level with full hook ups. Laundry room, showers and restrooms are brand new and spotless. It is close to the highway and convenient to the small town of Shelby. However, hotel personnel need to re-measure the sites. We were assigned a 40 foot site that turned out to be 25 feet and had to be reassigned. The entire row of sites (#10 - #15) were only big enough for truck campers and pop-ups. We camped at Trails West Campground in a Motorhome.

David Thompson Resort, Cline River, Alberta

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

This could be a fine stay if your expectations are realistic. It is a rustic park, not a luxury resort. The park has very few 30 amp, water, or sewer sites. We were told on the phone and again upon arrival that it was 20 amps and would run everything except AC. Electric service was no more than 108 volts and 7 or 8 amps. Low voltage either shuts down your system or blows it. We could not run anything but lights. We dry camped for $38/night. WiFi is $10/day. Showers are $2 for 4 minutes. But the sites are all pull through and mostly level gravel. The setting is forested, but trees are not in the way of parking. There is a restaurant, convenience store, gift shop, and fuel pumps. Fuel is no higher than surrounding areas. We camped at David Thompson Resort in a Motorhome.

Two hours to Banff National Park and two hours to Jasper National Park. Twenty minutes to the closest town of Nordegg, Alberta. Nordegg consists of a hotel and a restaurant. Scenery in the area is spectacular, but it is an isolated location.

Teton Valley RV Park, Victor, Idaho

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

This looks like it used to be a really nice park, but has recently been purchased by a large corporation which handles luxury hotels and resorts and they are tearing out the RV sites and putting in cabins. It is currently under major construction. The electrical system has been damaged so not all remaining RV sites have working electricity. We were here prior to high season so were able to put our car in the next site, as ours did not have room, and hook into that space's electric pole. The park's phones and reservations are handled by a call center not in the US where those answering don't seem to know anything about RVs and what they need, e.g., length, hook ups, etc., nor can they give you directions or information about the area. The couple now managing on site were very pleasant and helpful, but it took at least an hour to find a site our 30' MH would fit and have full hookups. But then, one of them trimmed the trees and raked out the area by our steps. So in my opinion, they are the best thing about this RV park. Maybe by next season, the owners will have it figured out. The scenery is beautiful and the area close to the Tetons and Grand Canyon. We camped at Teton Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.

Caballo Lake RV Park, Caballo, New Mexico

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

This park was perfect for our needs. It is flat, very clean and well landscaped for a desert park, with full hook-ups, spacious sites and picnic tables. The owner holds a "happy hour" every afternoon for those inclined to socialize. She is efficient and friendly and works hard to maintain this charming park. Lack of toilets and showers is a non-issue for RVs, but eliminates tent campers. There are no activities for children so the park was quiet. There is a nice dog park with exercise equipment, but they are strict about cleaning up after pets, so it too is clean. We stayed there in a MH. In addition to the $15 nightly fee, our electric bill for 2 nights was $5. The park backs up to Caballo Lake State Park which provides hiking, fishing and boating opportunities. The mountain views were stunning. We camped at Caballo Lake RV Park in a Motorhome.

Worlds of Fun Village, Kansas City, Missouri

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Reservations are made by people not on site. They gave us the wrong entrance information which caused difficulty getting the MH out of the park, and back on the highway to get to the correct entrance. The RV park gates were unmanned, so we drove around looking for the office and signage is BAD. The four people in the office stared at me until I asked who could help me -then she was unfriendly to downright rude. Sites were concrete, level and clean. Good landscaping. This RV park is INSIDE the amusement park, so if going there is your purpose, you are right on. If sleeping is your intent, this is not the place to go. Screaming revelers go until 1:00 am and, on the other side of the RV area is the interstate highway. We will never go back there. We camped at Worlds of Fun Village in a Motorhome.

Corral Drive-In RV Park, Guymon, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

GPS will take you to to wrong park. Travel Hwy. 54 to the west end of town and look for the drive-in movie screen on the south side of the street. there is a sign at the entrance. (This park shows movies during the summer.) Owners are very efficient, friendly and helpful. Good gravel interior roads and level sites. There is a railroad track nearby, but no crossing so no horns or whistles. We did not find it bothersome. Extremely clean and nice showers! We camped at Corral Drive-In RV Park in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $21.00

$20 regular rate plus $12.50 more for full hookups including wi-fi and cable. The owner took the reservation via phone and checked us in. An efficient but unfriendly man. Good gravel interior and level sites. There is a restaurant on site, not fancy. The food and service are of reasonable quality for the price. Good gravel interior roads and sites. Water, electric, sewer, and cable all included in $25. rate (includes taxes). Staff friendly and efficient. Office area, games, TV area, some stores all clean. Easy to find off Highway 70. Good signage. Negatives: no picnic tale; no plantings or flowers, but this IS New Mexican desert. We camped at A Deming Roadrunner RV Park in a Motorhome.

Mountain Shadows RV Park, Draper, Utah

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

The park is well maintained with good asphalt roads. We had full hookups. It appears the majority of units here are long-term stay, some quite old, some with year-round families. The sites are very close together. We had trouble getting our 40 foot motorhome parked. If the rig next to us had slides, we wouldn't have been able to open ours. It has a pool, I'd guess 15 x 20 feet, but to use it you have to sign a release and get a key. If we downsized to a smaller unit, we would park here again, though it seems over priced. We camped at Mountain Shadows RV Park in a Motorhome.
