Mesa / Apache Junction KOA, Apache Junction, Arizona

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

We came here for one night as we wanted to visit some of the attractions near Phoenix. The park is beautiful with cactus and small trees, well kept by a very friendly couple, facilities work well. Not too much shade, but they do what is possible around here. No shop available. 35 minutes to Rawhide, a typical family place in the old Western style - great for a Swiss family. We camped at Mesa / Apache Junction KOA in a Motorhome.

Campland On The Bay, San Diego, California

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $124.00
Overall Rating:

This is a large campground that is crowded on weekends. However, staff are friendly and facilities are good. Great place for families where kids can feel free. We stayed in a 32' rig, got one of the last free sites on short notice, in August. Even if it is full, it is worth trying! We camped at Campland On The Bay in a Motorhome.

Cameron Trading Post RV Park, Cameron, Arizona

Date of Stay: July, 2012 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

The park is located directly at Hwy 89, which makes it a suitable overnight stay for travelers coming from Grand Canyon heading north (Page; Bryce Canyon) or vice versa. There is virtually nothing but parking with hook-up. No need for reservations - they never sell out. You select your site, then register at the trading post across the street. The trading post offers a nice shop and restaurant, where we had a good dinner. We camped at Cameron Trading Post RV Park in a Motorhome.

Wahweap RV and Campground, Page, Arizona

Date of Stay: July, 2012 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

This is a pretty large park with clean and efficient facilities. Staff were not the friendliest, but correct. Wi-Fi is provided, but unstable. They have a shop with a good variety of things needed by campers. The lake is 5 minutes on foot from the park entrance, the pool in the hotel area (a shuttle bus every 30 minutes takes you there). It is a good place for a one-to-two nights stay on the way from South to North or vice verse. We camped at Wahweap RV and Campground in a Motorhome.

Rancho Sedona RV Park, Sedona, Arizona

Date of Stay: July, 2012 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

I concur with former comments: this is one of the cleanest and best kept parks we have seen in our journey through California / Nevada / Arizona. Staff are friendly, Wi-Fi is working smoothly, and there are lots of trees. The owner cares about the park a lot. Registration, however, closes at 5 pm already. We camped at Rancho Sedona RV Park in a Motorhome.
