Bay Shore Campground, Rock Hall, Maryland

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here as an overnight stop on our way home. We called ahead for a rerservation. The campground was a bit of a drive off Rt. 301 and the office closed at 2 p.m. and there was no one to greet us. Our confirmation email had a site number so we pulled in. The campground is on the shore of Chesapeake Bay. Bayside sites were $15 more and not worth the extra money. There is no swimming pool. The only place to swim is in the bay. The beach was barely six feet wide and the bay was a rocky bottom. We waded in to cool down and that was it. Not sure we would use this campground again. We camped at Bay Shore Campground in a Motorhome.

Pocahontas State Park, Chesterfield, Virginia

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice state park near Richmond and Petersburg. The park was full so reservations are recommended. Long pull-throughs were easy to manage. A very popular place to camp. We camped at Pocahontas State Park in a Motorhome.

OBX Campground, Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

Great campground for visiting the Outer Banks. The campground is located behind the Wright Brothers memorial and just a short ride from the beach. The owners are friendly and helpful. The only negative is there is no swimming pool. We camped at OBX Campground in a Motorhome.

Indian Cove Resort, Virginia Beach, Virginia

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here as Coast to Coast members. There was an additional $9 a night park fee, raising the cost to $19 a night. The resort is very clean and well maintained. The sites are all level with concrete pads. There are no fire rings but you can use a portable raised fire pit. We had no problem getting in and setting up. We have stayed here before and will not hesitate to return. We camped at Indian Cove Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The resort is near Sandbridge Beach, a more laid-back oceanfront, but still within a short drive of the main Virginia Beach oceanfront.

Wilderness Presidential Resort, Spotsylvania, Virginia

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

This is a large resort and it appears that Coast to Coast guests are assigned to an area that backs on the main road. The back-in sites are level, grassy with a small patch of gravel for parking. 30-amp service max. Oddly, the sewer connection was located near the front of the site on the passenger side of our motor home. With our sewer outlet on the far opposite side of the motor home, there was no way we could extend a sewer line. We stayed here through Coast to Coast. We camped at Wilderness Presidential Resort in a Motorhome.

Spruce Lake RV Resort, Estes Park, Colorado

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $59.00
Overall Rating:

If you arrive on Rt. 34 you have to drive through the downtown area to reach the campground. But then it is easy access to the national park. Sites are dirt, very dusty, with no shade but there is adequate room and you don't feel like you are on top of your neighbor. Price is probably competitive for the area. We would use this campground again. We camped at Spruce Lake RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Gunsmoke RV Park, Dodge City, Kansas

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

The sites were level pull-thrus. WiFi worked well. The only drawback was the trains that went by throughout the night. I would consider this park the best buy in Dodge City. We would stay here again. We camped at Gunsmoke RV Park in a Motorhome.

Colorado Heights Camping Resort, Monument, Colorado

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

The site assigned to us was not suitable. A washout on the road made access impossible. The staff was very nice in getting us another site. Most of the interior roads were paved. The campground is next to the interstate and the highway noise was loud. WiFi did not work at the campsite. Had to carry my laptop to the program center to get service. Because of the Coast to Coast price we would use this campground again. We camped at Colorado Heights Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Klamath Falls KOA, Klamath Falls, Oregon

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

Campground is clean, staff is friendly, but there is no ambiance. Sites are gravel, very close together, with a small strip of grass between them. Not the kind of place I would set up my cooker and have dinner outside. We camped at Klamath Falls KOA in a Motorhome.

Mercer / Grove City KOA, Mercer, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $62.00
Overall Rating:

The park is nice but overpriced. We stayed one night as a stopover along I-80. Pull-through sites in the front were long and easy to maneuver. But Mercer/Grove City is not a resort area and the price was exorbitant for the little time you stay there if just stopping for a night. Next time we will find somewhere else to stop. We camped at Mercer / Grove City KOA in a Motorhome.

Grandview Bend Family Campground, Howe, Indiana

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $12.00
Overall Rating:

Very laid-back campground. Sign directs you to pick a site along the corn field and the owner will be by to sign you in. Sites were grass with water and electric. Paid an extra $2 for 50-amp service. Found a nice restaurant and a great ice cream shop in town. Would stop here again when traveling across Indiana. We camped at Grandview Bend Family Campground in a Motorhome.

River Park RV Park, Valdosta, Georgia

Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Nice overnight stop along I-75. Sites are paved and mostly level although our rig just fit on the width of the pad. Staff was very friendly. Did not need a reservation. We just called ahead and there was plenty of room. We would use this park again as an overnight stop. We camped at River Park RV Park in a Motorhome.

North Shore Landing (Formerly Lake Oconee/Greensboro KOA) , Greensboro, Georgia

Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

We were very disappointed with this campground. We arrived at 4 p.m. on a Sunday and the office was closed and the security shack was not manned. If another camper had not come by and told us to look in the mailbox for our packet, we would not have gotten past the gate. We were Coast-to-Coast guests and the site we were given was small and very unlevel in an area with several other rigs almost shoulder-to-shoulder while there were many vacant sites closer to the lake. The entire park had a run-down appearance. We will not be returning to this park. We camped at North Shore Landing (Formerly Lake Oconee/Greensboro KOA) in a Motorhome.

We enjoyed our overnight stay here. Sites were level and very easy to get into. The campground is a short distance from I-40 and about 15-20 minutes to Maggie Valley. We were warmly welcomed and the staff was very friendly. We would definitely use this park again. We stayed as Coast-to-Coast members. We camped at Pride RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Up the Creek RV Camp, Pigeon Forge, Tennessee

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

What a hidden gem. Campground is located about 3 miles from the main drag through Pigeon Forge, but it is in another world. Treed sites along a brook. Very quiet and peaceful. Not the crowded feeling you get at other campgrounds in the area. No restrooms so you have to be self-contained. No swimming pool so not the best for families, or if you like to cool off in the pool. But if you can do without restrooms and a pool, this place is ideal. We camped at Up the Creek RV Camp in a Motorhome.
