White Wolf (NPS Campground), Yosemite National Park, California

Date of Stay: July, 2012 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

On higher grounds, a super spot for hikes and a day rest on a long tip. If you want to get away from all the tourists in the park, (like ourselves), this is the place. All spots are under high pine trees, friendly people, good explanation of the hikes, beautiful lake nearby (4.6 miles roundtrip). We enjoyed being in the nature. We camped at White Wolf (NPS Campground) in a Motorhome.

Pinezanita Tent & RV Camping, Julian, California

Date of Stay: July, 2012 - $56.00
Overall Rating:

It started to go wrong, trying to make the reservation. The lady said the campground was full and directed us elsewhere. No place there either, so we tried to pass by. Full, she said, but after a while persisting, we were allowed to enter. About 10 empty sizes at the ground that night, all fine for our size. Those with shade were free, we were in the sun, next to a PortaPotty. They just do not want people for 1 night, but do not advertise it. People queing up for potty "toilets." Fishing pond ($5 US) without fish in the right size. Everywhere signs: Not Allowed To... WiFi only within a 50 ft distance from the office. New owners could turn the place in a nice Campground. To be avoided now. We camped at Pinezanita Tent & RV Camping in a Motorhome.

Holloway's Marina & RV Park, Big Bear Lake, California

Date of Stay: July, 2012 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

Nice place to stay, when traveling around. Cold nights in the summer, warm days, perfect. All felt good, fishing right next to the RV (certain spots). Beautiful lake view, nice new restrooms, friendly people. We camped at Holloway's Marina & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Millerton Lake State Recreaton Area, Fresno, California

Date of Stay: July, 2012 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Superb location, close to the lake. Only a few shady places, quickly taken by frequent visitors. Do not go to the full hook up site, the others are much better placed. The lake is Hot, Hot, Hot, and the campground is quiet, especially on weekdays. Not enough shade, and a stupid, incomprehensible reservation system, otherwise a 10/10. We camped at Millerton Lake State Recreaton Area in a Motorhome.

Malibu Beach RV Park, Malibu, California

Date of Stay: July, 2012 - $110.00
Overall Rating:

Nice view, nice people, good spot. Although the zone is pretty crowded, we felt we had still some space and privacy. Nice place to discover Malibu and the beaches. We visited the beaches by car, too far to walk. We camped at Malibu Beach RV Park in a Motorhome.

Mission Bay RV Resort, San Diego, California

Date of Stay: July, 2012 - $110.00
Overall Rating:

This is an OK campground for little children with bikes, because it is asphalt only. The bay side we had, looked OK in the picture. In reality there was a high fence between the bay and the campground. We regretted we did not book the other RV park at the bay, with a real beach, real shade and grass. Check in is at 2pm strictly, even when your spot is free. Office closes at 5 pm. Arriving later, the guard will let you in, but you have to wait till next morning for the internet code. Depressive Campground. We were lucky to have very nice neighbors. We camped at Mission Bay RV Resort in a Motorhome.
