Copper Mountain RV Park, Tacna, Arizona

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $16.00
Overall Rating:

Seemed like a fairly new RV park. They have planted trees around most sites, but they are still small, so they won't provide much shade in the summer for now. It was very clean and level. Hookups worked well. Sites are basically double wide...plenty of room for parking. Wi-Fi from our site was weak, but we were kind of far from the office. Staff at check in was just the best. Would definitely stay again. Price reflects P.A. discount. We camped at Copper Mountain RV Park in a Motorhome.

Las Vegas KOA at Sam's Town (formerly Sam's Town Casino & RV Park) , Las Vegas, Nevada

Date of Stay: February, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed four nights for a family get together. Weather was frigid. Park is typical of Las Vegas RV parks: a big parking lot with full hookups.

Laundry room was getting new washers soon, so only 4 were working. At a park this size that isn't very many.

Hookups worked well and we reserved a site near grass so our dogs could be more accommodated. That worked out well.

Have stayed before in the summer when it was really hot. When is it good weather here? Would stay again if in Vegas. Price reflects a stay 4 nights get one free discount. We camped at Las Vegas KOA at Sam's Town (formerly Sam's Town Casino & RV Park) in a Motorhome.

The casino and dining options next door are certainly adequate.

Park Place RV Park, Quartzsite, Arizona

Date of Stay: February, 2018 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

No reservation, but most of the hubbub in Quartzville was over when we arrived so there were a few vacancies. Friendly check in. All gravel park with wide sites and good hookups. Our dogs liked their dog park better than any we saw on the trip. No trees to speak of, so probably pretty hot in the summer. Would stay again. Price reflects P.A. discount. We camped at Park Place RV Park in a Motorhome.

Lake Havasu State Park, Lake Havasu City, Arizona

Date of Stay: February, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Wanted to stay on the Colorado River, so we paid a little extra and stayed at Lake Havasu State Park. We were as close to the beach area as we could get. Site was spacious and level, and hookups worked well. Had a nice fire in the fire pit and watched low flying motorized hang gliders go by. Ferry in town came out near us and headed over to the California side of the river. Some sites have lots of shade. Overall a nice state park. We camped at Lake Havasu State Park in a Motorhome.

Las Colinas RV Park (55+ park), Eloy, Arizona

Date of Stay: February, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This was not on our itinerary, but the place we wanted was full, so we found Las Colinas. I don't like staying at places I haven't read reviews on, but this worked out very well.

Friendly check in and escort to site. Very long, level, cement site. Some shade to be had. There's some huge cacti on some sites. Hookups worked well. The park was quiet and relaxing. Would stay again. We camped at Las Colinas RV Park (55+ park) in a Motorhome.

Rincon Country (East) RV Resort (55+ park), Tucson, Arizona

Date of Stay: February, 2018 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

This wasn't our first option, but was glad to find an opening without any reservations in Tucson in February. This is a large park with lots of amenities, lots of snow birds, and lots of park models. Our site was between two park models, but good enough for an overnight stay. It was level and everything worked well. Lots of trees (palms). The park is clean and well cared for. The people were very friendly. Some good views of the mountains can be had. Probably wouldn't stay again, but that's because of the price, not the park itself. We camped at Rincon Country (East) RV Resort (55+ park) in a Motorhome.

Mountain View RV Park, Bowie, Arizona

Date of Stay: February, 2018 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

This is an all gravel RV park with level sites and few trees. Hookups worked well. Check in was fast and easy. Sites are wide. Trains run all night, but that isn't too unusual near these western parks it seems. Price is great. Would definitely stay again. We camped at Mountain View RV Park in a Motorhome.

Desert Willow RV Park, Van Horn, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2018 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

This is a basic, typical west Texas campground. There are no trees. It's kind of like a big gravel parking lot. It was level and the hookups worked well. Nothing great, but for an overnight it was worth it. I would stay again. The price reflects P.A. discount. We camped at Desert Willow RV Park in a Motorhome.

Johnson Creek RV Resort & Park, Kerrville, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2018 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

Looks like they keep this park up to date. All the interior roads were nicely paved, as were the parking pads. Lots of trees. Sites are a little close, but decent. Saw a herd (20 or more) of deer grazing nearby until a dog barked and they slowly moved on. There's a bunch of Shetland or mini ponies on site that you can give carrots or celery to. Overall a nice park. Would definitely stay again. Price reflects P.A. discount. We camped at Johnson Creek RV Resort & Park in a Motorhome.

Katy Lake RV Resort, Katy, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2018 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

We had a nice site on the water. Cement pad was level and hookups worked well. Nice walk around the lake for the dogs. Check in was very friendly. Not many trees so probably pretty hot in the summer. Has a fire pit and nice gas grills for anyone to use. Pool seemed very clean. Looked like there was a nice pool table in the rec. center. Would definitely stay again. Price reflects P.A. discount. Poche's RV Park, Breaux Bridge, Louisiana

Date of Stay: February, 2018 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

A little off the interstate, but was not a bad stop. It was a little buggy setting up, but when we walked the dogs later it seemed fine. Almost all sites are waterfront sites with cement pads. Ours was level. Hookups worked fine. Probably pretty hot in the summer. Would stay again. Our price reflects P.A discount. We camped at Poche's RV Park in a Motorhome.

Lisbon Beach & Campground, Ogdensburg, New York

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

This campground surprised us by the size, and the fact that it was right on the St. Lawrence River. It was after season, so we didn't feel hemmed in by other campers. Large, spacious sites, and grass everywhere. Could take the dogs on a nice long walk. Didn't use the facilities, but the grounds were clean and well cared for. We had a back-in full hook-up for $34, and I was very pleased. Would stay again, and recommend to all. Interior roads very easy. We camped at Lisbon Beach & Campground in a Motorhome.

The Buckhorne Country Store and Campground, Clifton Forge, Virginia

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

This really is just a small, basic campground with a country store as the office, but it met all of our needs, was clean, quiet and spacious. If truth be told, this is the kind of overnight stay that pleases us the most. It was $ reasonable with a level pull through site and plenty of room to walk the dogs. The full timers were friendly and quiet. Can't think of any negatives. Would definitely stay again. Not a destination campground, but great for a night or 2. We camped at The Buckhorne Country Store and Campground in a Motorhome.

Whispering Pines Campground, Hope Valley, Rhode Island

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed after the season, so no one was in the office. Luckily the Fed-X guy was there on the campground phone with someone. When he was done he handed me the phone to talk with someone about checking in. They told us what site to go to and that they'd be by to settle up later on. The site was a level pull thru. Connections were very easy. It was pretty typical of a resort style campground...fairly close to your neighbor, but not intrusive. There was a pool and a lot of recreational activities to do in season. There was also a large rec hall that I think sold food. I can't really find anything bad to say about the place. They never came to collect the money, but when we were leaving I noticed someone in the office so I pulled over and paid. $38 for a campsite in New England was pretty darn good, as that area tends to be too expensive. I would definitely go back, and recommend it for both overnighters and a destination campground. We camped at Whispering Pines Campground in a Motorhome.

Cape Ann Camp Site, Gloucester, Massachusetts

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This is an interesting campground. If you have a 30 foot or longer vehicle you stop and call the office before going up a fairly big hill. There is a sign there telling you to. We ended up with a site near the sign, on the side of a hill. The sites are terraced, so it wasn't a problem, and it was actually very level. I walked up the hill to the office to pay (she would have come down in a golf cart). We looked out over the water and it was quite nice. Check-in was easy and very friendly. When I looked at the map of the place I couldn't believe how far back it went at the top of the hill. Since we didn't go that far I can't say what it was like. Easy enough to walk the dogs. Our site was so long you could have 2 extra large motorhomes on it. The hookups were at the back of the site (it was a back-in). I would recommend this campground, at least for the area we were in. We camped at Cape Ann Camp Site in a Motorhome.
