Aspen Crossing Campground, Mossleigh, Alberta

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

This is a lovely oasis on the prairie. Sites are large and well-spaced, lots of birds, lots peace and quiet. Let me qualify that, it's quite empty on weekdays, but come the weekend it's a big family place so you have to like kids. Monday to Thursday, though, it's wonderfully sleepy. The train excursion is fun, complete with rather hokey train robbers. As of July 2016 there is brand-new playground equipment, so disregard the photo in the gallery of the old one. About my only quibble is that the sewer connectors are pretty high up and some engineering was required to make a good connection. We've been here twice, and will come back. We camped at Aspen Crossing Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

There is a convenience store in Mossleigh, but come well-provisioned. Strathmore is about half an hour away, and has all services. There is a dining car restaurant a short way off which is excellent.

Trains still here, sites kind of tight, Wi-Fi spotty. Still, everyone was having a good time. Very nice staff. Good old Spokane KOA! We camped at Spokane KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Lincoln Rock State Park, East Wenatchee, Washington

Date of Stay: July, 2012 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Totally beautiful state park. That rock really does look like Abe. Too bad we only did a one-night stopover. We'll definitely be back. We camped at Lincoln Rock State Park in a Travel Trailer.
