James Island County Park, Charleston, South Carolina

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed here several times. Campground is clean and staff helpful. Restrooms were being remodeled, all at one time. Only one available was a good walk. Was a busy weekend and park was full. We were with a camping club so we were spread out. Our site was a pull thru full hookup and spacious. County park has many activities for all ages. Charleston is full of historic sights and good restaurants. We camped in a 39 foot 5th wheel. We camped at James Island County Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Fort McAllister State Park, Richmond Hill, Georgia

Date of Stay: February, 2018 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Recovering from storm damage. A lot of trees missing. Campsites seem smaller than before. Very few sites we could use with a 39 ft. 5th wheel. Feel it is a bit pricey for just water and 30 amp power. No cable which most are poor and no wi-fi. Worst thing is insects. Have been told insects are terrible in the summer. We were there in Feb. and the insects were terrible. The entrance is gated which is good. Overall it's a state park and not bad. All sites are packed dirt which is O.K. This was our 4th time since 2005. Will probably go back again. We camped at Fort McAllister State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Camp Lake Jasper RV Resort, Hardeeville, South Carolina

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Asked for a back in since we had stayed here before. Was put by a noisy long term younger couple. That made our stay a bad one. It had previously rained with standing water even though there is storm drains. Had to back in over a concrete hump. Whole park has the same thing even for pull through sites. Noticed the pull through sites had washed so bad a motor home parked but was not level. Grass was being cut early Saturday morning and even had to wait for the pool to be cleaned. Will look for another campground for this area. Guess anyone can add Resort to the name and up the price. We camped at Camp Lake Jasper RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Walnut Hills Campground (formerly Staunton / Walnut Hills KOA), Staunton, Virginia

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Escorted to site. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Beautiful park. No road noise. Nice to see grounds maintained. Called on short notice and was given a site that was shady, big and very easy backing. WIFI and cable worked well. Will stay here next time in the area. We camped at Walnut Hills Campground (formerly Staunton / Walnut Hills KOA) in a Fifth Wheel.

Harpers Ferry / Civil War Battlefields KOA, Harpers Ferry, West Virginia

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $74.00
Overall Rating:

Over priced for what you get. It's not worth it. No escort, tight turn getting into site and worst getting out. Luckily no vehicles were parked in the way. What once was narrow asphalt drive is now crumbling rocks. Had to turn sharp by a power pole to exit, not easy with 39 ft. 5th wheel. First stay here was in 2011. No improvements at all. Wi-fi was bad, cable was as bad this time as before. Do not intend to stay here again. Three strikes and you're out. Stayed three times and that's enough. We camped at Harpers Ferry / Civil War Battlefields KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Lake Aire RV Park & Campground, Hollywood, South Carolina

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Water stands everywhere when it rains even on the sites. Can't stop the rain but sites should be higher and better. To many long term units. All roads were rough with mud puddles. Hasn't changed since our stay in 2009. We camped at Lake Aire RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Nice to see someone upgrading a park. Could see many improvements and park has expanded. Check in was good and escorted to site. Wi-Fi and cable worked well. A bit road noisy at our site but didn't have a problem with sleep. I would stay here again. We camped at Compass RV Park (formerly Indian Forest Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

The Boardwalk RV Resort, Homestead, Florida

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

Office closed on Sunday. Hard to find assigned spot. Roads very narrow. A lot of park models, mobile homes. More a mobile home place than RV park and certainly not a RESORT. No Wi-Fi except at office and no cable unless you are there for a month. All negative reviews are accurate. Will not stay there again. We camped at The Boardwalk RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Mackinaw Mill Creek Camping, Mackinaw City, Michigan

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $51.00
Overall Rating:

Park is the worst laid out and difficult to get around in. Luckily, someone we knew escorted us to our site. Overall park is expensive and over rated. No Wi-Fi, no cable, and very little antenna TV. Toilets are little more than an outhouse. Our air conditioner would occasionally bring in the odor. Sites that were gravel now are now dirt. No grass, just weeds and uncut. I would not recommend this park to anyone. Fire rings are too close to units. Road signs are few and too dark a background. You have to KNOW your way around. We camped at Mackinaw Mill Creek Camping in a Fifth Wheel.

Waynesboro North 340 Campground, Waynesboro, Virginia

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Upon arrival, clerk couldn't find my name or when I called. Given a site someone was still on, 2-1/2 hours past checkout. Was not escorted to site. Given unclear directions so I took a wrong turn. Finally set up on site. Two nights was subjected to someone trying to sing. I complained and was ignored. Interior roads rough, narrow and limbs hanging dragging on camper roofs. Traffic starts at 6 AM on the weekends. Needless I will not be back. Campground has many extended stays so the rest doesn't matter. We camped at Waynesboro North 340 Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

The Great Outdoors RV Resort, Franklin, North Carolina

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Check in was a breeze. We were escorted to site and assisted with backing in. Told staff about a tire problem on the way up and our escort went out of his way to find us another tire which he didn't have to. Met the owner and he was as nice and friendly as his staff. Liked the way park was laid out and do not have anything negative to say about it. Will stay here next time we are in the area. We camped at The Great Outdoors RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Enjoyed or stay very much. Campground is about 2 years old and nicely laid out. Spoke to several host and all were very nice and helpful. Beaver Run RV Park, Metter, Georgia

Date of Stay: March, 2015 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

We were escorted to site and later were brought warm cookies. Staff was friendly. Interstate noise was quiet first two nights but not so our last night. Wi-Fi worked fine along with all utilities. Only problem was a couple next to us with 3 barking dogs. Thankfully they left the next day or we would have. Long term units were placed across the little pond from everyone else. This cut down on a lot of traffic. Overall was nice and would stay here again if in the area. We camped at Beaver Run RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Charlotte / Fort Mill KOA, Fort Mill, South Carolina

Date of Stay: December, 2014 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Had to drive from campground to convenience store for check in. Should had been on web site and told when I called. No escort to site. Sewer pipe broken with a plastic bag stuck in opening. Catered to long term units. All the long term traffic has to go through what few sites there was. Couldn't rest past 6 a.m. for the noise. Interior road very rough and pot holes. Little upkeep noticeable. Did not meet what I felt KOA standards. Would not suggest this place to anyone. We camped at Charlotte / Fort Mill KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Diamond Lake Resort, Owensboro, Kentucky

Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here 2 nights and that was too much. Place is old and no improvements. Had a problem backing in for the trees. Escort admitted some needed cutting but he didn't want to. Golf carts were allowed and you could easily get run over. Young children to older adults were all over the place with carts. The only positive comment was their fireworks show was pretty good. The campground was full that weekend. Roads are too narrow for two-lane traffic. We camped at Diamond Lake Resort in a Fifth Wheel.
