Wolf's Camping Resort, Knox, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Campground is mostly seasonal sites with very few sites for overnights. The roads are very poorly maintained and would only require a little gravel to fill in the large pot-holes. The cable TV hookup in all overnight sites had male ends on the cable and had to request a connector from the office which was provided. When we arrived, we were told that we had to pay for one half day as we arrive two hours early. After discussion, this fee was waived. We could not understand this as we would not get a fee reduction for leaving at 8:00 am: much earlier than their checkout time. The internet was so slow that it was virtually useless and only available at the office. Took 4 minutes to load one email. There is a 9 hole golf course on site: short yardage but good for some exercise. Greens were very poor with lots of dead grass at ball marks. We did play on two days and walked the course for exercise. Most overnight sites were not level and had to use the jack platforms under the wheels to get near level in order to use the jacks. We would not camp here again as internet service is very important to use while away from home. We camped at Wolf's Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Shipshewana Campground - South Park, Shipshewana, Indiana

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This campground limits you to 30 minutes of internet usage in a 24 hour period. Once you disconnect, you are prohibited from connecting for the next 24 hours even if you only used 5 minutes the first time. How cheap can a campground get ? Woodalls does not show that there is limited usage of the internet. Other than the internet, the park was very good. The sites were very level, lots of width between the sites, and generally, the park was well maintained. The campground is very close to the huge flea market and to the attractions in this small town where the Amish is the main attraction. We parked the motorhome here and drove to the Newmar plant where we took a plant tour: a short drive from this campground. There was no cable at the sites but the laundry room had a TV, which we did not use. Could not get any reception using the motorhome antenna. We camped at Shipshewana Campground - South Park in a Motorhome.

Spring Valley Campground, Cambridge, Ohio

Date of Stay: July, 2012 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

While most other campgrounds have greatly increased their overnight rate, the owners here have kept their rate at $30.00. Excellent value for the rate. These people count on volume and definitely got it as this is a great campground. Would not hesitate to stay here again. We camped at Spring Valley Campground in a Motorhome.

Shenandoah Hills Campground, Madison, Virginia

Date of Stay: July, 2012 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Campground roads very rough. Huge ruts in road at dump site. Trees not trimmed so could not go into pull-through sites. Controlled access and charged our niece $5.00 just to walk a few hundred feet and tell us she had arrived to take us out to dinner. Ridiculous greed. We camped at Shenandoah Hills Campground in a Motorhome.
