Cascade Lake Recreation Area & Campground, Pisgah Forest, North Carolina

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice old (1950's) campground in a beautiful setting. Secluded campsites are limited, but not that big of a deal since it's truly a family campground. The lake is very nice and has a beach for the kids. Canoe rentals are available. The only downside was that the staff (campground hosts) weren't very good in my opinion. The office reminded me of a McDonalds kitchen in during the morning rush. We camped at Cascade Lake Recreation Area & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Linville Falls Trailer Lodge & Campground, Linville Falls, North Carolina

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

This park is a real treat if you like small, laid back places. The campground is shaded and very well kept. The folks are friendly and was pretty quiet the last couple of times we stayed here. There is volleyball, swings, basketball and a few other things for the kids. The only downside to this CG is that the sites aren't very level and you have to work at it to get your rig set up right. Will stay there again soon! We camped at Linville Falls Trailer Lodge & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Raccoon Holler Campground, Glendale Springs, North Carolina

Date of Stay: June, 2012 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice park, but unfortunately, it seemed that most of the good sites (shade, size) accommodate long term seasonal campers. The rest are kind of small and not shady. The 'regulars' aren't very friendly and I got the impression that weekenders were intruding. I'll probably stay here again, but only because of family in the area. We camped at Raccoon Holler Campground in a Travel Trailer.
