This army corps of engineers park is very nice. The park is very large with about 250 sites. All sites are gravel with 8x8 timbers for borders. Each is generously laid out with a picnic table and campfire pit. There was PLENTY of room for everything. There are several sites on the lake but all are just a short walk to the beach. Some of the bathhouse were in need of some serious cleaning. There were bugs and spiders all over the place. Overall this is a real nice place and we will return but I will try to avoid those certain bathrooms. :)

We enjoyed our visit to Kiptopeake state park on the eastern shore of VA. The beach is very nice and not crowded at all. The sites are a little close together, but I've seen closer. The full hookups were nice as well as the cable TV. This is the only state park in VA with cable tv and sewer hookups. We will return here for sure.

Very clean and well laid out CG. All sites are very level w/water and elec hookups. Some sites are on the creek but they are hard to get on a Friday night. The CP does usually fill up on most weekends, so make sure you get there by 5 or so to get a spot. The lake is very pretty and it has a beach swimming area for kids. Plenty of hiking trails nearby as well as the blue ridge parkway. We have added this CG to one our favorites.
