Big Meadows Campground (NPS Campground), Shenandoah National Park, Virginia

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

If you can live without all the hookups this is a great place! We came here after bailing on our reservation at Jellystone in Luray. Plenty of shade and space for the kids. Multiple hikes with fantastic views and waterfalls nearby. We camped at Big Meadows Campground (NPS Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park at Luray, Luray, Virginia

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $69.00
Overall Rating:

I had heard some good things about the Jellystone Park in Luray so decided to try it for a weekend. We stayed one night out of three reserved. Our site was very small, with our awning just a few feet from the trailer next to us. This park is very busy and was packed. I thought the $17 extra fee per person for mini-golf, swimming, and other activities was a bit much. I was unable to use the Wi-Fi, but didn't bother talking to anyone about it. We ended up in Shenandoah and had a great time with much more space. Cons: - Wi-Fi didn't work - very crowded - space between units - extra costs for facilities Pros: - There did appear to be some other larger spaces - could be fun during the slow season when its not so crowded? We camped at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park at Luray in a Travel Trailer.

Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Camp-Resort at Natural Bridge, Natural Bridge Station, Virginia

Date of Stay: June, 2012 - $62.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for 4 days. We initially had some reservations due to some of the poor reviews. However, my family loved this campground. It wasn't too crowded (we were here in the middle of the week). The staff did a great job of entertaining the kids with all of the different activities. The staff were also great in helping my wife and kids out when a large thunderstorm derecho hit. I would definitely stay here again.
