Flamingo Lake RV Resort, Jacksonville, Florida

Date of Stay: November, 2012 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

First, the positives: great cable, office people were nice and someone is there to escort you to your site. The negatives: very noisy, sites are extremely close, there was no respect for privacy rules like we've noticed in other campgrounds. A couple times in the same night cars would use the grass on our site to back up. Their cars were literally right next to the door of our motor coach! This campground seems like they attract a noisy party crowd which is fine unless you are looking for peace and quiet. Would not camp here again!! We camped at Flamingo Lake RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Fredericksburg VA / Washington DC S. KOA, Fredericksburg, Virginia

Date of Stay: November, 2012 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

What a beautiful campground! This campground is nestled around lots of trees. There was a small pond next to our pull-through site. The campsite was quiet and friendly and only 5-10 miles from the civil war attractions in Fredericksburg. Full hookup, very big rig friendly. We camped at Fredericksburg VA / Washington DC S. KOA in a Motorhome.

Mt. Pleasant / Charleston KOA, Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina

Date of Stay: November, 2012 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

We camped here to sightsee around Charleston, but had no idea the traffic to Charleston from this campsite would be so congested! The front desk were very helpful and let us switch sites twice because the first site was too small and the second site was a back- in (we wanted a pull-through). The campground was very quiet, there's a small lake and a nice nature trail. The sites were nicely spaced from each other. Take some time to visit Patriots Point Naval Museum in Mt. Pleasant and eat at Magnolia's in Charleston for some gourmet southern food! We camped at Mt. Pleasant / Charleston KOA in a Motorhome.

Homosassa River Carefree RV Resort (formerly Turtle Creek), Homosassa Springs, Florida

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This campsite was a disappointment! The lots are small and close together. Their Wi-Fi is NOT free, you have to pay $6 a day (although they claim the first 4 hours are free). It seemed more like a mediocre trailer park than resort. On a the positive, the front desk girl was nice and moved us to a different lot that was more accessible for our 38ft motor coach, and it is 1-1/2 miles from the Wildlife Refuge. An easy bike ride if you don't have a car. The only reason we stayed here was because we got a one night free coupon from LazyDays. We actually debated on staying at another campsite, but decided to leave a day early instead. Will NOT be staying here again! We camped at Homosassa River Carefree RV Resort (formerly Turtle Creek) in a Motorhome.
