Riverside State Park, Nine Mile Falls, Washington

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

Overall, a great park! The site was spotless when we arrived with the entire site raked including the driveway and parking pad! Nice trails for hiking/biking and view points. The paved road with no vehicles on the other side of the river is great for nice long quiet bike rides or runs. I will say the only negative is the sewage treatment plant right next door! Who does that? Every time you come and go from the park you pass it! You can't swim or go in the water, fish or enjoy the river other than look at it, what a shame! We camped at Riverside State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Olympia Campground, Tumwater, Washington

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

This was probably our 4th stay here. Great campsite for peace and quiet. Not a lot of kids like their Heritage site but still enough for them to have fun. Bathrooms are always clean and the pool is fun for the kids. There are 3 unofficial areas in the park, the front is for bigger rigs and coaches, the middle is for smaller units or people wanting power and water and the rear loop is more for tenting. I think the rear washrooms are now closed and they have porta-potties but the front washrooms are still spotless! Staff at the gas station/store have always been friendly and helpful. We camped at Olympia Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Bridgeport State Park, Bridgeport, Washington

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $26.00

What a gem of a campsite! Great open space for bocchi ball and ladder golf, bike riding lanes up to the dam and a friendly park staff! The lake was chilly for swimming, but still a great way to cool off on a hot day! Lots of "regulars" that made us feel welcome. We camped at Bridgeport State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Ginkgo Petrified Forest / Wanapum State Park, Vantage, Washington

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park, with some good view sites of the lake. VERY windy at night as noted by other people for the first 2 nights we were there but dead calm the last night. Nice quiet park, but the day use beach was dirty with lots of garbage etc. due to large groups at the day use area each day. Several dogs off the leash in the swimming area running all over and being a nuisance (going to the bathroom etc) even though signs clearly noted it was an on leash area. If you can, go to the Iron horse structures just up the hill on I-90 and hike to the top for some great views! Check out the info center in Vantage for the petrified forest, very helpful staff there! We camped at Ginkgo Petrified Forest / Wanapum State Park in a Travel Trailer.
