Stayed here while visiting friends in the area. Centrally located, friendly staff, clean showers/bathrooms. Wi-Fi only near office, and they charged an extra $1/day for using electric heaters in our rig. Rate is with Good Sam and for three people. We'll stay here again. Rafter J Bar Ranch Camping Resort, Hill City, South Dakota

Date of Stay: June, 2008 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This is our favorite campground in this area. Visited 2 years ago and returned this year. We stayed in "The Island". Peaceful and quiet, close to attractions. No bathroom/shower facilities in "The Island". Closest was Ranch Camp, which was a short walk away. We camped at Rafter J Bar Ranch Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Medora Campground, Medora, North Dakota

Date of Stay: June, 2008 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

We saw Medora's Magazine while in another campground and decided on giving it a try. Lots of bugs (gnats) and cottonwood trees. Sites were level; bathrooms clean and showers good. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable of the area. You must try the Pitchfork Fondue if you visit. We camped at Medora Campground in a Motorhome.

Spearfish City Campground, Spearfish, South Dakota

Date of Stay: June, 2008 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed two nights while visiting friends. They recommended this campground and we agree with them. Sites are back in,level concrete and driveways are asphalt. Some trees close to the road that you need to keep an eye on when traveling to your site. Bathrooms/showers clean. There was WiFi, but it worked best (for us) when we were next to the office. Campground is close to everything you might need. The only negative is it is next to the city park. The local "teen agers" like to park at the entrance to the campground and do their "drinking and smoking". They did stay out of the campground and did not cause us any problems. We will camp here again, when in the area. We camped at Spearfish City Campground in a Motorhome.

Zion River Resort RV Park & Campground, Virgin, Utah

Date of Stay: June, 2008 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This is a great place. We used this as a "base" for 3 days while exploring the area. Approximately 15 mins back to Zion. Spaces were level, area exceptionally clean, office staff extremely helpful (special thanks to them for all their help!). Wi-Fi strong from our site (#32). No cable TV yet, but then we didn't come here to watch TV. There are a few local channels via antenna. Showers were $1 for 5 minutes, which was plenty of time. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Zion River Resort RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Terry Bison Ranch Resort, Cheyenne, Wyoming

Date of Stay: June, 2008 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

We used this park as an overnight stop on the way to Colorado. It was a bit run down and probably has seen better days. The driveways were gravel and the sites were a mixture of gravel and grass (that needed mowing). We did a bit of a walk around and saw some of the advertised animals. The showers and bathrooms were clean. The price used the Woodall's book coupon ($6 discount on the first night). We camped at Terry Bison Ranch Resort in a Motorhome.

Dakotah Meadows RV Park, Prior Lake, Minnesota

Date of Stay: June, 2008 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Read about this park while planning the continuation of our trip east, from S. Dakota. What a great place!! We were able to get two nights without a reservation. The only thing keeping this from a "10" is the lack of cable, but then we aren't here to watch TV! We camped at Dakotah Meadows RV Park in a Motorhome.

Mission Bay RV Resort, San Diego, California

Date of Stay: January, 2007 - $36.00

Very clean, friendly staff. Nice location, near the north end of Mission Bay. Bathrooms close at dusk, due to some recent vandalism and a fire. Hopefully they will change back and leave the showers open. Easy access to freeway. We'll stay again. We camped at Mission Bay RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Alpen Rose RV Park, Durango, Colorado

Date of Stay: August, 2006 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

We used this as a stop while visiting friends in the area. We were escorted to our site, which was gravel and level. It was a bit of a walk to get to the restrooms, showers, and laundry. This was the most expensive stay during our trip. We camped at Alpen Rose RV Park in a Motorhome.

Chalk Creek Campground & RV Park, Nathrop, Colorado

Date of Stay: August, 2006 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

This was a great stop. Clean restrooms/showers. Gravel sites that were level. Staff members were friendly. Escorted to site. It was raining during our stay, so we didn't get a chance to do any exploring around. We stopped here overnight enroute to Durango. We would camp here again. We camped at Chalk Creek Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Rafter J Bar Ranch Camping Resort, Hill City, South Dakota

Date of Stay: August, 2006 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This was a great park. Lots of room, quiet...even with all the Sturgis people around. We were in space #81 in the tall timber. Bathroom/showers were close and very well taken care of. We rented a car from the office and visited Mt. Rushmore. Service was excellent...including after we left a cell phone behind. Staff not only found it, but mailed it back to us. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Rafter J Bar Ranch Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Buffalo KOA , Buffalo, Wyoming

Date of Stay: August, 2006 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

We used this as an overnight stop. Good thing we had a GPS, as the entrance from the main street had a small sign and was poorly lit. We were a "late" check in and left payment in the box at the office. Sites were easy to get into, bathrooms/showers clean. Not much in the area; the truck stop across the street has an Arby's, which closed before we could get inside. We camped at Buffalo KOA in a Motorhome.

Ponderosa Campground, Cody, Wyoming

Date of Stay: August, 2006 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

We used this as an overnight enroute to parts east. Sites were gravel and level. We walked into Cody for dinner. This was the week before Sturgis, lots of motorcyclists around. When checking in we were given a "complete" rundown on what was available in the area and some help deciding what road to take into S. Dakota to avoid the Sturgis crowd. Service was excellent. We camped at Ponderosa Campground in a Motorhome.

Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated), Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona

Date of Stay: August, 2006 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

We used this initially as an overnight and were able to get a second night. Sites are gravel and level for the most part. The shuttle to the rest of the park drops off at the entrance. We will be visiting again. Would give a "10", but no showers in Trailer Village. We camped at Trailer Village (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Motorhome.
