Bakersfield RV Resort, Bakersfield, California

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $53.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed at Bakersfield RV Resort many times over the past years. Always look forward to a great place to stay. We had not stayed in a few years and stayed yesterday Oct 2, 2018. Check in was great, taken to our spot as normal. We got out to hook up and the place has changed. It was filthy dirty. Dirt was everywhere. The place had not been cleaned for quite a while. The grass was dying, and although the rules say no permanents, there are several staying here. Also the advertised 50 + channels of cable, it was horrible.. I asked many other campers and they said the same that the cable was fuzzy at best. I asked at the front counter and they said sorry. What a shame for what used to be such a nice place. I will return, thanks. We camped at Bakersfield RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Bear Paw RV Park II (Adults only), Valdez, Alaska

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

Takes a really nice place for us to give a 10. We are at the last stop on our three month tour of Alaska. Did the normal loop of all the road system (and some not road system) and we stayed in over 20 RV parks. This is the best one and glad we saved it for last. We are in Bear Paw 2 the adult park on the harbor. We are in space 8 and it is as good as it gets. The owner is gruff at first but what a good guy. You have a cable box for the cable TV. Piece of cake to hoop up. First box did not work they switched out no issues. Really a great way for us to end our bucket list trip in Alaska. We camped at Bear Paw RV Park II (Adults only) in a Fifth Wheel.

Good places to eat in town, great glaciers within driving distance.. Old town that was destroyed by the 1964 earthquake and tsunami. All good

Beluga Lookout RV Park, Kenai, Alaska

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

Nice campground on the bluff overlooking the Cook Inlet.. Called Beluga lookout, however did not see any Beluga whales.. Probably need to be very lucky to see them.. Maybe closer to the mouth of the Kenai River.. As stated by others very close quarters but not a big deal. We were on the front row and had a great view...... We camped at Beluga Lookout RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Golden Nugget RV Park, Anchorage, Alaska

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This park is in Anchorage Alaska... Not a lot of choices. Golden Nugget has an entire section that is permanent residents. That section does not appear to follow the same rules. Most of the permanents have decent RVs but a few in need of major repair. Lots of things under their RVs, and on the outside. Looks pretty seedy. With that said, fairly quiet and somewhat safe. Costco right across the street. Fred Meyer's and Walmart close by. Nice areas around to tour - the earthquake and a few others. Not as bad as some make it.. We camped at Golden Nugget RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Cherry Hill Park (Washington DC), College Park, Maryland

Date of Stay: November, 2016 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Wonderful park for the first 5 of 7 days.. Next to last day, got up in the morning no water.. Had about 1/4 tank of fresh water.. Took showers and went to DC.. Stopped at the office, and asked the problem and asked when it would be back on.. Was told the city shut off the water across the highway and did not notify.. Was supposed to be back on that day.. We returned from DC and had a note on our door, stating that the park shut our water valve so brown water would not get in our coach.. Opened the valve and still no water.. The next (our last morning) still no water.. Not enough water to shower, or clean our tanks and sewer hoses.. Got hooked and went to the office.. Asked about the problem and was told "you have water" we did not.. No one else on our street had water either.. I asked for the one of two nights to be refunded and was told NOT OUR FAULT and we did not know.. Poor attitude.. We will never be back.. We camped at Cherry Hill Park (Washington DC) in a Fifth Wheel.

Kimball Creek Bend RV Resort, Gold Beach, Oregon

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

We arrived on one of the hottest days of this summer. We stayed here five years back and it was great. I think it has new owners. We reserved spots on the water with water and electric, We asked for satellite friendly and did not get them. There are four sites on the water and two of them have trees. They would not let us move to the empty sites that had clear vision for satellite. So we accepted it and hooked up to their cable. Worked good.. While I was setting up my site, (our traveling friends were hooked up with a motorhome and all good). The breaker on the tower kept clicking off. As I said it was very hot. I asked at the front desk and she sent her husband to look at the breaker.. He said it was the heat and the breaker was good even though it keep clicking off. I asked if he would replace the breaker and he said no. I asked if I could move spots and again no. The owner then told me to check out of the park. We had just arrived for the first of four nights.. I checked all the other rvs in the park and the power was working in all of them.. Very rude new owners.. Sorry. We camped at Kimball Creek Bend RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.
