Fort Worden State Park (Beach campground), Port Townsend, Washington

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

I think this is one of the most beautiful campgrounds in Washington. We saw deer, eagles and river otters and enjoyed beautiful sunsets. It's fun to watch the cruise ships march past on weekend evenings. Funky Port Townsend is 5 minutes away. The campground hosts and volunteers at the maritime center and natural history museum were friendly and knowledgeable. Bring flashlights to explore the World War II era batteries, which are cool and dark year-round. We camped at Fort Worden State Park (Beach campground) in a Tent Trailer.

Suncrest RV Resort, Moses Lake, Washington

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This park is clean, has a large hot tub and shallow pools and should be family -friendly, but is not. The manager stops by the hot tub every 20 minutes to remind children and families that there is no playing in the 99 degree hot tub, as that's what the pool is for. Unfortunately, the pool is maintained at 68 degrees and my kids didn't enjoy it. There is also an extra day charge if you'd like to use the pool after noon on the day of check out. We camped at Suncrest RV Resort in a Tent Trailer.
