We were here for the 4th of July weekend and we loved it. The park was very busy, with lots of "toys" coming in and out to go to the Silver Lake Dunes, but the quiet hours were strictly enforced and we didn't have any trouble with loud noise in the night. This park is clean, the staff is very friendly, and the pool is great. The sites we stayed on were large and shaded, with lots of trees and easy access to the hydro/ water. The roads are well maintained.

This place was Party Central all weekend and it was frustrating that the Security didn't enforce the noise regulations or the number of people that should have been allowed on each site. I'm also surprised that nobody else has mentioned the very Loud planes that fly directly overhead, beginning at 5:30am, because the park is located right next to an airport. The staff was friendly and the sites were lovely and well maintained. I wish the fire pit would have been enclosed, instead of just a dirt patch in the ground. The bathrooms were clean but really need some updates.

We camped with 2 other families for one of their "Hallowe'en Weekends" and our Canadian Thanksgiving and we had a great experience! All of the staff was very friendly, the sites were scenic, the bathrooms were clean, and there were many activities to keep the kids busy. We would also like to thank the 2 staff members who were kind enough to boost the battery in our van when we left all of the lights on as we were loading to leave! We are already looking forward to next year.

My family loves this campground and we return to it often since it is close to our home of Windsor, Ontario. We visited 3 times this summer and will continue to frequent it next year, I'm sure. The main washroom facility is usually very clean and well kept. There are often lines on the weekend to use the showers but the water is hot and the showers/ toilets are well maintained. The pools, including water slide, are always a hit with the children. The lifeguards are friendly and do a good job of controlling the area. The addition of the dog park was a nice surprise this year and we appreciated having it available. We also liked the added security that was driving through the park during the night. We also love the proximity of this campground to Point Pelee and Leamington for day trips and visits to the beach/ waterfront. My only criticisms/ suggestions involve the main park next to the bathroom- this area needs some TLC and new equipment. We were also disappointed that there was a fence extended to the waterfront this year that blocks walking/ bikes from passing through to the bathrooms from the main part of the campground. This was a very well-used path and it was missed. We also had some concerns with the hydro hook-ups along our street. They needed some attention and when we had a problem, we were instructed to just "use another plug".

This park has so much potential but it was very difficult to get past the maintenance and structural issues we encountered. For starters, the "washroom" facility at the end of our street (17th) was awful, and I will even go so far as to say "disgusting". This building looks like it used to be a horse stable or some sort of animal barn that has been converted to washrooms/ showers. The toilets have been recessed into concrete slabs and the showers are rusting and unacceptable for use, in my opinion. The Main bathroom at the end of 2nd Street was much more modern but was in a state of filth and disrepair for the entire weekend we were there. Of the few washroom stalls, the one door was broken the entire time and many toilets were plugged. The toilet seats were discolored and need replacing. One shower had no water, which I discovered after I had removed all of my clothes and was ready to use it. The paved roads are a great feature but they were VERY bumpy and buckling in many areas. The pool was beautiful but the deck area was very uneven in several spots and the cement looks like it has been repaired several times. On a more positive note, the staff was extremely friendly upon entering the park, leaving, and while working at the pool. The park is very large and scenic in some areas. It also offers some unique features- cafe, mini golf (but bring your own clubs/ balls, beach, and horse shoe pit. All in all, our experience left us less than thrilled. This park is a diamond in the rough and could be helped considerably by some extra cleaning and maintenance. It is showing its age and requires more regular cleaning due to its 1100 sites and visitors. As weekend guests, we also felt that the number of golf carts used by the seasonal campers was overwhelming and distracting. For these reasons, I wouldn't recommend it the way it is now.

The Pinery is a campground we frequent and love its very "natural" setting. It is a park we enjoy visiting to go bike riding, take nature hikes, spend time at the beaches, and go on the excursions hosted by the Naturalists. This visit, we enjoyed the Sunset Stroll along the beach and learning about tide patterns and the eco-system at the park. The guides were very friendly and knowledgeable. Our site was small and the electrical hook-up was in an awkward location so it required a very long extension cord to reach from our camper. Not all sites had this issue, but be warned that you might want to be prepared. The General Store has a great supply of anything you could need during your stay and we took advantage of its reasonable prices and convenience. My only complaint is that the Wi-Fi hasn't worked any of the times I've been so don't count on it if you require it. The washrooms are modern and well-maintained. The "vault" areas are less than desirable but good in an emergency. The showers are fairly roomy and clean but there are often lines. One issue we have is that we always have to book many months in advance to get a site at this campground. If you can't book 5 months ahead, you likely won't get a site, or at least a specific one that you are hoping for. It would be nice to have more flexibility with booking but these sites fill up very quickly. Overall, the staff was very friendly and helpful and we left the park wanting to come back again.
