Port A RV Resort, Port Aransas, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

Newest & IMO the best RV park in Port A. All concrete streets & pads. Staff will bend over backwards to assist you for everything.... really flexible. Clean sites, dog walking areas (3) poop bins emptied weekly or every other day. Sites can handle 45 ft rigs. Heated pool & jacuzzi. Clean laundries (2) and washrooms. Everything is new.. The opened last fall and are adding 85 more sites with separate lounge & laundry & pool. This is the best & least expensive ($573 for the month) RV park in the area. So good we made reservations for next year. (2017-2018) Junk equip & bad people not allowed. Lots of pot-luck dinners & camper interaction- really friendly, pet oriented. We stayed 2 months. Admin note: rate based on monthly rate. We camped at Port A RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Mustang Island State Park, Port Aransas, Texas

Date of Stay: January, 2017 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Sites are side by side, either back-in or drive in. Sandy & somewhat dirty. Sign in staff was rude and had an attitude. Located way out from Port Aransas. If you wanted to extend, you couldn't do it at the office but had to go through the reservation center in Austin. Do NOT arrive after 4:00 and try to pay the next morning and aren't at the office as soon as they open. Your reservations are thrown out of the computer system. We camped at Mustang Island State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Deer Creek Valley RV Park, Topeka, Kansas

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This was by far, the best RV Park we've used on our 7500 mile trip this summer. Concrete, level, spacious pads, super clean grounds. The Best thing? A fenced bark park. About 100yds by 60 yds in a triangular shape. And it was CLEAN. Our Greyhounds loved it..

We kept extending our stay. Excellent Wi-Fi, cable TV, open sites to shoot satellites, large grass sites with table. This is a gated park, if that's important. Inside RV storage is available. We camped at Deer Creek Valley RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Trinidad Lake State Park, Trinidad, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Not a bad park. Sites were a little short for the most part. All sites had 50/30amp service. No water at the sites which made this seem like a costly park. The thing that impressed me was staff came around the next morning to shovel out the ashes from the fire rings. We camped at Trinidad Lake State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Amarillo Ranch RV Park, Amarillo, Texas

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is one of the most well maintained campgrounds we've seen. The graveled sites were dragged flat, the grass trimmed & the laundry was clean. Coffee & donuts in the morning at the office..................... Couldn't be better. We camped at Amarillo Ranch RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

They also have shuttles to the Big Texan Steak Ranch home of the 72 oz. steak (yeah, that's 4 1/2 lbs). Sounded hokey, but was fun. Watch 3 big guys try to eat it all--none made it.

We stayed on trip out and return.
