The park is older but the owners are working very hard to upgrade and make repairs. They are in the process of building a lazy river float area. Don't think it will be ready for this season but it will be a nice addition. Nice grass between each site but minimum shade. A little close but not bad. It will be a nice family park once all additions are make. It is 10 miles back into Galveston where all the action really is located. Owner/hosts were very friendly and accommodating.

This has to be one of our favorite Texas State Parks. There is nice spacing between the sites with many of the sites having mostly or half shade. They are upgrading sites with limited shade to provide a shelter over the picnic table. The park is quiet from outside noise (interstate). Phone service is limited.

I hate to be a downer but, don't be fooled by the word "resort". It's associated with the resort and hotel across the street from the RV park. That is about the extent of it. Site was a concrete slab and level. That was good. Between sites was what was suppose to be grass. It was mostly dirt. The pool and clubhouse were very nice as was the laundry facility. This was 9 miles further away from Big Bend entrance and I didn't feel it was worth the extra drive. Barely satisfactory.

This is a very clean park with easy access from interstate but far enough away that it wasn't noisy. Sites were easy to access, and level so that we didn't have to unhook for the night. Sites are a very clean gravel. I was impressed because as soon as a site was vacated, someone was there to clean and rake the site with a leaf rake so you knew it had attention. I would stay here again. Only complaint is that the rigs were parked together with about 6 feet between, driver side to driver side and other side with room for awning with a few feet to spare.

This is a very nice Texas State Park with some sites with full hookup. WE did stay on one of the loops with sewer. The only downside was our site along with others on this loop was that they were not level front to back so these sites were not good for motorhomes. Trailers seemed to be ok. We will come back to this park if in the area.

This is a very nice park. Site pads were concrete pads and very lever. We were able to stay hooked up overnight. Friendly staff during reservation call and once arrived. This was our first time to stay here but will be back as we pass thru here almost every year. The park is truly an oasis about 9 miles outside of town which means it's quiet. Stock up on your groceries before you go since it's a drive back to town.

This is quite a ways off the beaten path but very nice park. They have a small store with minimum supplies. Employees are very nice to deal with. Park was clean and well maintained. Biggest problem was no public phone, no Wifi, and AT&T service did not exist for miles around. We had a level back in site right on a cove off the lake.

Very nice park with full hook ups. Site was level and shaded. Overall the park was very nice. Lots of space between trailers. We had a back in site.

Park hosts were very friendly and helpful. Sites were clean but close with minimum space to park the truck. The park has both W&E and full hook-up. It's strange that they do not take reservations for the full HU, only the W&E sites. When you arrive and there is a full site available, you can take it. we were able to get a full site when we arrived but just by luck. They don't enforce the checkout time but a rig just left at 4:30 when we arrived.

This is a beautiful park. Sites are paved and level. There are both full hook-up and W & E. If you choose the full hoop-up be aware that the sewer is at the very back of the site. Depending upon where your outlet is, you could need up to 30 feet of hose. There is a state park also on the lake but I wouldn't waste my time. We visited but not that great. Downside of this park is that there isn't much to do other than a short trail or fishing. But it's a great place to just relax and enjoy.

We paid the extra and stayed at the top of the hill. No shade trees but what a view of the Smokies. Other sites down the hill are level and kind of tiered into the side of the hill. Hard to explain but shaded and very nice. Very friendly staff. We were running late to arrive after office close but no problem. They waited for us and then took us to our site. Weird but very functional cable TV. Very clean park and well maintained. Would stay here again.

We stayed here one night. Nice overnight stop. Easy access from highway. Excellent stores and shopping within a mile. We were closer to the front of the park close to the office. Comments about road noise are valid if you were to the back which is close to the interstate. We had a very level pull-thru site so we didn't have to unhook. Very friendly staff. We would use this park again.

We spent one night in the park on our way East. Very clean. They had a shuttle to the casino if you wanted to visit. Sights were slightly out of level but not bad. We didn't want to unhook but had to to get front to back level. Still no problem for the value received. Nice space between sites with grass and lots of room for dogs.

This is the second time we have stayed in this state park. We were here last year at the same time. Overall this is a very nice park. Excellent for bird watching, especially in April. Small park, and very quiet. Borders on the LLano River which provides swimming and tubing. Also many hike and bike trails for getting out in nature. Sites are not real level front to back but side to side are not too bad.

This is a hidden gem of a park especially for the value. The only downside is that many of the spaces are back to back, so if you have a rear facing window and the unit in back of you has a rear facing window, you are looking at each other. Good side to side spacing though. Sites are very level. We didn't unhook since we were only there for one night. Lots of shade trees. WIFI was a little slow but acceptable. Forget the TV channels, but not a showstopper.
