Very friendly staff. Sites are well laid out and easy to enter and exit. Roads are well packed gravel and grass is neatly trimmed. There are no obstructions preventing easy parking. We would certainly stay here again when in the area. We camped at Wapakoneta KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Lots of restaurants within a mile, WM, and a big rig friendly fuel stop nearby. Home of Neil Armstrong and a very nice space museum close by. Downtown area is very well taken care of and beautiful.

Carowinds Camp Wilderness Resort, Charlotte, North Carolina

Date of Stay: November, 2012 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

There is nothing "resort" about this campground. Mostly inhabited by rundown RVs. Our neighbor uses his grill for a trash can. The sites are not well kept. Very noisy as it is close to the airport. Price high for time of year. Would be good for families that use theme park. Check-in office is great and people friendly. Rate lower for call in vs. higher for online reservations. Would stay here only as last resort. It is convenient to downtown area. We camped at Carowinds Camp Wilderness Resort in a Motorhome.

Wind Creek State Park, Alexander City, Alabama

Date of Stay: September, 2012 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

We are here and it is not crowded, thank goodness. All the sites are paved, but a little narrow. There is no improved patio on any sites, they are grassy or dirt and not level. It could have been a very nice campground with a little forethought on design. We originally signed in for a waterfront site with sewer, but changed to a non waterfront with sewer. Most of the trailers here are older with some permanent types. We most likely would not stay here again, but it's not the worst place we've stayed. We camped at Wind Creek State Park in a Motorhome.
