Washington County Fair Park, Marietta, Ohio

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This was as expected just a parking lot/field but I thought $35 was kind of high for just hook ups and nothing else. It was in the town which was a little trick to get to. Kind of a strange area. Also the website has the wrong phone number. It is 740-336-0725 and the address is 922 Front St. You put cash or a check in an envelope in a box on the side of the building. Not much else to pick from in the area for an overnight. We camped at Washington County Fair Park in a Motorhome.

Woodland Campground, Woodland, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice campground. You can tell the owners take pride in offering a nice place to stay. Site was long enough for motorhome and tow vehicle and for the most part was level. Owner helped us to the site. They have many activities there but we were only there overnight. Used the dog park. It is a little close together but easy in and out for the big rig. We camped at Woodland Campground in a Motorhome.

Susquehanna Trail Campground, Oneonta, New York

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This park was really disappointing. MOstly because it really needed cleaning up. There were weeds everywhere and many sites were being used permanently and had junk all around them. The roads had many potholes, especially right when you came in the drive from the main highway. The girl at the office was nice but I never saw anyone working except cutting grass. We had a site that was nothing more than a pull off the road. It looked like some sites had cable tv but not ours. It was depressing that it was such a mess. They were building some cabins but we remarked that they needed spending a few days just cleaning the place up which wouldn't have cost anything but some work on their part. It was supposed to be Passport America but since it was Friday I didn't get that discount. So it was full price for two days. Not impressed. The only reason we stayed here was to go to Cooperstown and I wanted somewhere close off the freeway. I wouldn't stay here again. No tv or wifi signal, cell (Verizon) We camped at Susquehanna Trail Campground in a Motorhome.

Barber Homestead Park, Westport, New York

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for a week while seeing the area. Very nice owners. Right on Lake Champlain. Site was nice-long and level, spacious, good. Everything neat and orderly, well maintained. Laundry convenient. Not a lot to do in the area and no stores nearby. Wifi and cell signal weak. Quiet place to relax-no tv. Went to Ft. Ticonderoga and saw a reenactment and took the ferry to Burlington to the Shelburne Museum-interesting. We camped at Barber Homestead Park in a Motorhome.

Niagara Falls North / Lewiston KOA, Lewiston, New York

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $51.00
Overall Rating:

We had a nice level pull thru site. Sites are close together but Park is quiet and owners helped with directions to Niagara. We had lousy weather but nothing you can do about that. Sites are a little short if towing a car. No cable tv. Wifi is weak. We didn't use the pool or restrooms or laundry but the chair is very clean and well kept. Nice flat tent area and some cabins. We camped at Niagara Falls North / Lewiston KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Youngstown is a very pretty town. Ft Niagara State Park is there for $8 entrance fee. Niagara Falls State Park is being refurbished, will be nice when finished. NY roads are terrible. Politicians must have taken all their Dept. of Transportation monies.

Worker helped us get in and out of site. Nice park. Sites a little tight like most KOAs. Nice buildings and grounds. Dog park. Office staff helpful. On a very busy street but did not hear road noise. They have a beautiful lake, tent camping and cabins also. Nice place. We camped at Savannah South KOA in a Motorhome.

D & W Lake Camping and RV Park, Champaign, Illinois

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful park off I57. Easy in and off and easy pull through so. Owner really nice. We had to have a part shipped here for our rv and he was really helpful. They have a nice lake for fishing. Great sites. Walking path, dog area. Nothing missing. We would definitely make a point to stop here again. We camped at D & W Lake Camping and RV Park in a Motorhome.

Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort, Colorado Springs, Colorado

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice campground. I liked the red gravel on the roads and sites-no dust and mud. Not much grass for dogs though. Dog park is basically dirt but at least they have one. This park is located halfway between Colorado Springs and Canon City on route 115. It is about 30 min. each way to the attractions in both areas- Royal Gorge and Pikes Peak. Beautiful area. My only complaint with this cg is that I booked way in advance and we stayed a week. I was hoping for one of their nice big sites shown on their website but instead we were put in a small site right next to the road and office with a view of some perm. trailers and a shed. Not exactly what I expected for $300. Many permanents friendly people with propane tanks around ( not shown in video). Meanwhile many of the nice big sites were empty or had small travel trailers in them. We had a 34 ft coach and tow. People were friendly, nice laundry. Enjoyed the deer walking thru the campsite. Basically a quiet pretty spot! We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Mark Twain Cave Campground, Hannibal, Missouri

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

CG is in park where Mark Twain cave is located. It is very large. Nice and flat, easy to maneuver. Some shade some sun spots. Spots are somewhat level. There are some potholes in the roads that could be fixed but we didn't have trouble with our 34 ft coach and tow vehicle. Utilities fine. We were here in August, so not many people here. We camped at Mark Twain Cave Campground in a Motorhome.

Orlando NW / Orange Blossom KOA, Apopka, Florida

Date of Stay: February, 2016 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

We camped in a motorhome while visiting Mt. Dora. The campground was nice in that with a big rig we could basically make the turns and the pull thru site was ample to accommodate our tow vehicle. Concrete patio and nice swing/glider and grill. The pad for the rv was gravel. They had a nice dog park fenced in. We didn't use the pool or showers but they really keep the areas nicely cleaned up and maintained. My real complaint was that we were right on a very busy highway which was extremely noisy. You could hear a clickety clack sound for every car. Of course this was not the fault of the campground but it was disturbing and there was an airport close by. I guess I will check these concerns next time I pick a campground. There was also a funny chemical smell for part of the time as this is in an industrial area. Too bad they can't pick it up and move it to one of the pretty lakes in the area. I guess these two factors would prevent me from staying here again. Nice people though. We camped at Orlando NW / Orange Blossom KOA in a Motorhome.
