Berkshire Lake Campground, Galena, Ohio

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

I am a part time full timer and spent three months at this park. The staff was very helpful anytime I asked questions. The park needs updating and they need to keep up on the mowing of the grass as it gets long frequently. They have a very large seasonal section and a much smaller non-seasonal section. It is convenient to Columbus and most sites are easy to get into (however they are not very wide at all, my slideout would overhang into the site next door). We camped at Berkshire Lake Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Lazydays RV Campground, Seffner, Florida

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

Arrived on a Thursday night, and left on a Saturday morning. Park wasn't too busy as it was summer (off peak season). All the sites are very well groomed, and the location to hookups is perfect. It's clear the Lazy Days really thought this park through. The attendants were very helpful and didn't mind we had extra guests with us (and didn't charge us). Very friendly staff and a well maintained park. I did notice some units on sites that appeared to be for sale from the dealership that they put into the campground for some reason. Great visit and we will be back. We camped at Lazydays RV Campground in a Travel Trailer.

West Palm Beach/Lion Country Safari KOA, Loxahatchee, Florida

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $75.00
Overall Rating:

Well maintained park, when I arrived I was surprised at how attentive the staff was and how helpful they were in getting me to my site. One thing I didn't care for was the campers disregard for quiet hours, I was woken to several screaming kids at 6AM (although to be expected from a family campground). I felt safe throughout my stay, not far from my house so I will certainly visit again. We camped at West Palm Beach/Lion Country Safari KOA in a Travel Trailer.

John Prince Park Campground, Lake Worth, Florida

Date of Stay: May, 2015 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

When I arrived, I didn't have a reservation. The office worker gave me a great site, and even told me to call the office if I didn't like the site I was on so I wouldn't have to drive back up there. Nice looking campground. Close to lots of things in West Palm and beaches. I'll be back! We camped at John Prince Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Markham Park, Weston, Florida

Date of Stay: April, 2015 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

I live about 20 minutes from the park and use it ask a frequent "escape." Sites closer to the entrance (loops A-D) are rather noisy with the other park facilities nearby and highway 595. Sites further in are much nicer. Wifi works very well on most sites (and is free). Office staff are very accommodating to early and late arrivals. I will be back - very affordable park for the south Florida area. We camped at Markham Park in a Travel Trailer.

Emerald Lake State Park, East Dorset, Vermont

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

No hookups, so dry camped with RV. Some of the premium sites aren't as good as the regular sites. I would recommend driving around if they have open availability. Was given site #1 as a premium site, ended up moving to site #18 as a regular site which was much bigger and more private than #1. Park staff are very friendly and helpful. Bathhouse was clean. Very hilly terrain for hiking trails. I'll be back. It's a well maintained state park. We camped at Emerald Lake State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Moody Beach RV Campground, Wells, Maine

Date of Stay: June, 2014
Overall Rating:

I chose this park as it was close to home to try out my new travel trailer. Rate was $0 as the park is part of the Thousand Trails network. There is a gate where you have to enter a code to get it - made me feel secure. The office staff have you drive around and choose a site (a bit annoying while towing a trailer around). There are limited pull-throughs. A majority of the sites are parallel to the road so you face the camper opposite you (great for folks traveling in groups). I chose a pull-through as it was just my partner, dogs, and myself. My site was mostly level, the road is gravel that leads to the sites. and the sites are gravel. You have to watch for awning clearances as many of the sites have trees in random places. I didn't see cable TV advertised however there was cable TV that had 30-40 channels (nice surprise). Campground staff was friendly and didn't push on me to renew my Thousand Trails membership for next year (which I will be doing). Campground could use a little better upkeep in the landscaping department - I think a majority of this has to do with a good portion of the park being seasonals. Overall it was a pleasant stay and I will be back. We camped at Moody Beach RV Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Wells State Park, Sturbridge, Massachusetts

Date of Stay: May, 2014 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

Park is a basic as you can get with no hookups, hence why I only stay here in a tent and not in my trailer. The bathrooms are older and small - I wouldn't shower in them but for restroom use they are fine. Site on the lake was very nice, plenty of space and plenty of privacy. I do recommend that if you go to plan ahead and look at the map closely. Most sites are large and have plenty of space however there are a few tiny sites that are low lying and are close to stagnant water. Overall it's a nice park and I will be back, I go here often. We camped at Wells State Park in a Tent.

Boston Minuteman Campground, Littleton, Massachusetts

Date of Stay: July, 2013 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

I have always been very critical about campgrounds, with high expectations. I called 2 days before coming, and asked to stay 30 nights, since I was relocating for work and was going to live in my motor home for the time being. The staff (family owned) bent over back words to assist me. They were able to move sites around so I could stay on the same site for the duration. All month I have seen big rigs come in and out. The owner personally escorts you to the site, helps you get in and makes sure everything is good. The staff is wonderful. Restrooms and facilities are well maintained. There is a small arcade near the pool for kids. I told the owners that of all campgrounds I have been to, this is by far the best and I will be back. Definite A+!!!! We camped at Boston Minuteman Campground in a Motorhome.

High Rock Lake Marina & Campground, Lexington, North Carolina

Date of Stay: October, 2012 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Called about an hour before arriving with no reservation, got me in no problem. Check-in and employees were very friendly. Sites down near the lake are built on platforms so each site can see the water. My site was a double pull through, wasn't very level, but I could make do without blocks. Sites are relatively narrow, but I was still able to put all slides and awnings out. Very friendly park, I will be back. We camped at High Rock Lake Marina & Campground in a Motorhome.

Horrible park! Check-in was not helpful, site was very unlevel. I was given site 0, which was overgrown. I didn't let my dog outside because of the number of bugs. Campground is not near the lake. I almost left just after I arrived. I would steer clear from this place. We camped at Tamarac Marina and Campground in a Motorhome.

Dreher Island State Recreation Area, Prosperity, South Carolina

Date of Stay: September, 2012 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

I was impressed with this park, being a state park. The check in staff were very friendly. I didn't have a reservation. They gave a great site recommendation. The lake side sites were nice, but weren't very level. The sites are large, and long. They all appeared to be paved. I didn't like the set up, however. The fire ring was right by my back bedroom window, and the awning just made it out. It was over the hill and the picnic table area was near the back end. Fishing was great, and swimming as well. I had a blast. I would have preferred full hookups, but that isn't a deal breaker. Overall, I would be back again! We camped at Dreher Island State Recreation Area in a Motorhome.

Cross Winds Family Campground, Linwood, North Carolina

Date of Stay: September, 2012 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

When I arrived, the check in lady was very friendly. I was impressed with the landscaping. The campground is well groomed. I was given a pull through, which was very nice since there was storms coming and I had to quick get set up. It stormed most of the day; therefore, the Wi-Fi didn't work the best, but still worked. I stayed in the A section, which was very wooded. The sites are very large throughout the campground. All the facilities look relatively new and are well kept. On my way out the check-in lady made a point to wave good bye to me. There was no lights in the a-section, which made walking my dog in the dark difficult; however, that is one's preference. The "new" fishing pond is very small. I didn't get to try it out since it was storming. I really enjoyed my visit and will be back. This is a small park,; however, they have nice facilities, nice playground and overall are very friendly. Of all the campgrounds in the Charlotte area that I have stayed in, this is one of my favorite. We camped at Cross Winds Family Campground in a Motorhome.

Charlotte / Fort Mill KOA, Fort Mill, South Carolina

Date of Stay: September, 2012 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

I made the reservation just before arriving- no issues. There is a lot of construction going on in the front due to a new grocery store being built. I was a little concerned about that. You have to check in at the gas station out front. That was a bit confusing. The staff was very friendly. I travel alone with my dog, and they had an employee lead me to my site and help me park, which was awesome! The campground was relatively empty. I had a site near the front, and was not bothered by the construction. WiFi and cable all worked well. I noticed no fire rings near any of the sites, which was a little annoying. Other campers were friendly. Some of the seasonal sites needed some TLC, but overall I was satisfied with the stay. The campground offers weekend events for families; however, there is no lake and there isn't much around since that park of Fort Mill is more residential. I enjoyed a little R&R trip, and would go back again. It is a good location for Carowinds, race track, etc. I live in Charlotte and was pleased with the location. I would go here again. We camped at Charlotte / Fort Mill KOA in a Motorhome.

Forest Lake RV Park & Camping Resort (Thousand Trails), Advance, North Carolina

Date of Stay: September, 2012 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

I made the reservation the morning of going to the park. After reading the reviews, I figured I would try it out. I wasn't impressed with the website. It wasn't very "user" friendly, nor was the advertising for the campground. When I got there, the staff was very friendly. I was advised to drive around and pick out the site I wanted. I found that odd, and a bit annoying that I was driving around this park in my RV trying to pick out a site. In the future, it would be good to have golf carts. The staff was very helpful in getting me a lake side site, so I could fish. I stayed on site B4. According to the previous reviews, it states that the park needs some TLC, which I agree. My site had some overgrown weeds, but overall I was satisfied. The pay Wi-Fi worked well on my site. I felt safe and had friendly neighbors. I think the off season rate of $45 per night is a little high; however, I would stay there again. They offer sites in the "D" section that are very easy to get in and out of in a big rig. The campground offers wooded sites for the "true" camper, and also offers open sites for those who care more about getting satellite reception. I enjoyed my stay and will be back again. I hope in the future they work a little harder on their landscaping. We camped at Forest Lake RV Park & Camping Resort (Thousand Trails) in a Motorhome.
