Pinehirst RV Resort, Old Orchard Beach, Maine

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $70.00
Overall Rating:

There is no sign coming in from the west. Contact the campground and follow their directions. The site we were assigned was just big enough for the motor home. We had to park our towed across the street. The campground is about two miles from the beach. We camped at Pinehirst RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We were about two miles from a nice little "Boardwalk" on the beach. A lobsterman has a stand right outside the campground with daily caught lobster.

Sylvan Lake Beach Park, Hopewell Junction, New York

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This park is not signed on the road, so make sure you have good directions. Do NOT take the Taconic Parkway to get there - campers are not allowed. Management was very helpful in getting us a direct tv hook up. Nice shade, 50 amp electric, but struggled a bit to get level. We camped at Sylvan Lake Beach Park in a Motorhome.

Pirateland Family Campground, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

Date of Stay: October, 2013 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This is a wonderful park. The sites are level and the utilities are good. We camped in an ocean front site that was just steps to the beach. This campground is different because they provide each ocean site with a stable wooden shelter over the picnic table. This is great for a campground on the ocean because of the stiff breezes that sometimes make it impossible to put out the awning. The only thing we don't particularly care for are the back to back shared hookups. We camped at Pirateland Family Campground in a Motorhome.

Fort Chiswell RV Park, Max Meadows, Virginia

Date of Stay: October, 2013 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

There are nice level sites with good electric and a beautiful view of farmland on three sides of the campground. The hosts were willing to work us in, even though we got there on a busy night and didn't have reservations. We camped at Fort Chiswell RV Park in a Motorhome.

Lee Hi Campground, Lexington, Virginia

Date of Stay: April, 2013 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is a great overnight park. It is a parking lot with hookups on a hill above a truck stop. It is about 100 yards to walk to the restaurant and convenience store, but surprisingly the noise level was tolerable. We would stop here again. If you need gas in a large vehicle, don't plan to gas up here. There are only two small, cramped gas pumps. Lots of diesel pumps available. We camped at Lee Hi Campground in a Motorhome.

River Bottom Farms RV Resort - Jellystone, Swansea, South Carolina

Date of Stay: April, 2013 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Because of a storm the previous week, the WiFi was down when we camped here. Shady sites seem to be taken up by seasonal campers. There are nice level, grassy sites with good local TV available. There was a lot of activities for the kids. This campground recently became a "Jellystone" Park. We camped at River Bottom Farms RV Resort - Jellystone in a Motorhome.

Forest Lake RV Park & Camping Resort (Thousand Trails), Advance, North Carolina

Date of Stay: April, 2013 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Referring to the check list - there is one pull through, and about three waterfront sites available. Many of the sites are not level and if you are in a motorhome it is hard to get level. The entrance is very unfriendly. No one is at the guardhouse and you have to call on a radio to get into the park. We camped at Forest Lake RV Park & Camping Resort (Thousand Trails) in a Motorhome.

Frog City RV Park, Duson, Louisiana

Date of Stay: October, 2012 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

The sites are nice, and the Wi-Fi is good, but the road noise from I-10 is very loud. Even with a Good Sam discount the price is very high for this campground. We camped at Frog City RV Park in a Motorhome.

Colorado River Thousand Trails, Columbus, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2012 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

The roads are really bad. The access road of gravel and sand creates terrible dust that gets into every crack and covers the towed vehicle. Inside the park there are potholes everywhere. However, once into the park, the sites are pretty and level. This is a membership park that has some sites open to the public. We camped at Colorado River Thousand Trails in a Motorhome.

J & J RV Park & Storage, Hot Springs, Arkansas

Date of Stay: October, 2012 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This park is a clean, pleasant parking lot. The sites are extremely close together with all gravel and very little grass. There is grass around the outside of the parking area for pets, and the Wi-Fi is good. A little grass and wider sites would give this park a higher score. We camped at J & J RV Park & Storage in a Motorhome.

Fort Chiswell RV Park, Max Meadows, Virginia

Date of Stay: October, 2012 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

This park is easy to access from I-81 and I-77. The sites are long and level. The cable is good and the Wi-Fi works okay. The laundry room is very clean, and even though it was too cold for us, the pool looked clean and inviting. We camped at Fort Chiswell RV Park in a Motorhome.

Holiday Travel Park of Chattanooga, Rossville, Georgia

Date of Stay: October, 2012 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

For a discounted rate of $37 a night, this park was very disappointing. The best feature of this park was the strong wi fi. The problems include pot holes in the roads, mud, and small width sites. We were assigned a pull through site with a sewer hookup that was so far back, the car had to be unhooked anyway. With a tree at the front of our site, it was impossible to be hooked up and make the turn when we left. We camped at Holiday Travel Park of Chattanooga in a Motorhome.
