Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park, Jacksonville, Florida

Date of Stay: May, 2013 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Very shady park - if you want sun this is not the place. Very nice for summer heat - buggy though, so be prepared. Close to beach, 1 mile walk, great parking at beach though. Great bike trails, and lake for canoeing. Avoid site 98,99,100 - low and watery if rains. Look for sites that are not with the tent crowd if you want less activity. We were in 37' 5th wheel, some areas very tight, be picky about where you stay. They change the gate codes on Tuesdays and may not mention this until you get to the gate. Will go back in fall or spring We camped at Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Suwannee River Rendezvous, Mayo, Florida

Date of Stay: May, 2013 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Super park for dogs. There is a large dog park area. The springs are dog friendly,. We are in a 37' RV so stayed in new area. You must be very small to stay in the tree area. Great bike trails. It s a Suwanee river trail location, so great access for canoe and kayak entry and exit, It will be perfect in 10 years when trees in new area are bigger. 20 miles from a store, so be sure and get groceries before you arrive. You can purchase ice on site. Restaurant open on weekends only. Will return in fall. It was too hot in summer for us. We camped at Suwannee River Rendezvous in a Fifth Wheel.

Poverty Point Reservoir State Park, Delhi, Louisiana

Date of Stay: October, 2012 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

We camped in full hook up with sewer, there are other sites available for less cost. Level sites, easy to enter, nice water pressure, lots of space between sites with greenery and landscaping. New campground and shower/bathroom/laundry facility - very nicely kept. Splash playground for kids. Hiking/Biking trail, cabins on the lake and in woods. Fishing lake - very pretty. Will come back in warmer time of year to enjoy cabin on lake with friends! Fish off the balcony. We camped at Poverty Point Reservoir State Park in a Motorhome.

Roosevelt State Park, Morton, Mississippi

Date of Stay: October, 2012 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

Restrooms under renovation. Only clean and newly renovated was near the campground near office. Others were either out of service or too dirty to use. Those should be ready in a few months. Nice park, nice walking, and Frisbee golf. Hiking trails need better marking. Will have water slide and pool open next year. Very small lake, but pretty. We camped at Roosevelt State Park in a Motorhome.
