When we phoned for a reservation the manager warned us about the steep downhill entrance to the park, but he forgot to mention the rough road. The park has many seasonal sites, and the friendly manager introduced us to a nearby camper. He also made sure our site was suitable for us. We had excellent WI-FI, and the restrooms, showers, and laundry were very good.

Date of Stay:

The park is a distance from Niagara Falls but it's easy to travel to the Falls, Lake Ontario, Erie Canal, and the Niagara Wine Trail. We stayed there four nights at the FMCA rate since the Passport America rate was not honored due to the Canadian Thanksgiving holiday. Although our site was long enough the sewer location was very inconvenient. The park has many seasonal campers but very few were there at that time.

Date of Stay:

When we made our reservation we said we would arrive about noon. When we arrived we were charged an extra $6 because check-in is not until 3:00pm. This charge was not disclosed in the Passport America book or online and was not disclosed when we made the reservation. The park roads were poor, the sites were soft and muddy, and there were low hanging limbs on the access road. We would not stay there again.

This park is expensive for the facilities. It is crowded and lacking in amenities. Basically it is a gravel parking lot with a narrow strip of grass between sites. Twice, there were problems with the Wi-Fi. The park had many semi-permanent RVs.

We paid the Passport America rate. The restrooms and showers were fair to average. Wi-Fi service at our site was good. The interior roads were fair - some had washouts. The park has many seasonal sites and activities.

We stayed two nights at the park's special rate for Oct. The spacious, clean restrooms and showers were certainly deserving of their high rating. We had our choice of a site near the park entrance or one further back close to the pond with fountain. We chose the pond view which was a mistake because of the geese and the messes they left behind (had to tiptoe through our site).

We stayed three nights at the Passport America rate. The management was friendly and cooperative. We were unable to get TV at our site (neither satellite nor antenna). Most sites had seasonal campers and were well maintained. The area bike trail goes along the side of the park so this would be a convenient campground for bikers.

We have stayed at this campground several times. It is a good one-night stopover en route with well kept sites and friendly owners/managers. It is a reasonable distance to Mississippi River towns of Louisiana, MO, and Clarksville, MO, with artisan shops.
