Far Horizons RV Resort(formerly Far Horizons Tucson Village) (55+park), Tucson, Arizona

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Needed a place for one night to visit a friend who lived in the area. We were told that they could accommodate us in a pull-through site. Upon arrival, those sites didn't exist. In fact the site we were given couldn't accommodate a 37' motorhome let alone the tow vehicle. A kind neighbor came out and questioned us as to why we were trying to get into that site. She had never seen a big rig fit in there. The office staff were young and not very savvy to the intricacies of parking a motorhome towing. We moved to another site after paying an upgrade fee to get a premium site. Still parked in dirt and gravel and still had to disconnect towed vehicle. This would be a good place for long term stays, but not for one night. We camped at Far Horizons RV Resort(formerly Far Horizons Tucson Village) (55+park) in a Motorhome.

Desert Cypress Mobile Home & RV Park, Wickenburg, Arizona

Date of Stay: January, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Pulled in late to Wickenburg and luckily found the Desert Cypress. Our host couldn't have been more helpful. Met us at the gate and guided us to our site in the dark. Since the office was closed she asked us to pay in the morning. Park is a beautiful desert oasis park. Landscaping was exquisite. Even though we were only there one night we experienced a little of what this park had to offer. People were friendly and interested in the new comers. Will gladly stay here in the future and hopefully for a much longer time. Great place in Wickenburg. We camped at Desert Cypress Mobile Home & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Kerrville KOA, Kerrville, Texas

Date of Stay: January, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

On our way to south Texas we came upon the Kerrville KOA. Nice surprise! Convenient to the freeway, quiet off road sites, pull-throughs. Gas pumps on site. Actually cheaper than the roadside gas stations. Great service. Will stop here again on our way home. We camped at Kerrville KOA in a Motorhome.

Canyon Lake RV Resort (55+ park), Mission, Texas

Date of Stay: January, 2018 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

Park is old and until recently, poorly maintained. Grounds were spruced up over the past three months and the potholes filled. Unfortunately, the same group of residents that have been in control decided the new management, responsible for the changes, was not working out and had them ousted. People did wave as you walked by but most would not allow an outsider to participate in any of the scheduled activities. I felt like a second class citizen in a very snobbish community. The lake has great potential but it's only to look at. There aren't many walking places in this area and they are ignoring the paths around the lake. Trails were evident but completely overgrown and some have collapsed. Sand burrs are everywhere. You couldn't walk into your coach without tracking dozens in on your shoes and clothes. I wish I had taken advantage of any of the other higher rated parks in the area. I won't return to this park. We camped at Canyon Lake RV Resort (55+ park) in a Motorhome.
