Medora Campground, Medora, North Dakota

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

Campground is dirty and dusty. Sites are very narrow - way too small for the camping units placed there. Picnic table had to sit on neighbors sewer hole. A lot of college students working as summer staff. They were very friendly and helpful. Campground gets a lot of business because of the wonderful Medora musical. Would not stay at this campground again. We camped at Medora Campground in a Motorhome.

Wonderful USFS campground with 50 amp service and water. Dump station on way out. CG is on point overlooking lake with view of mountains in distance. Marvelous views. Several hosts that made sure greeted and maintained the sites. We camped at Stillwater Campground in a Motorhome.

Thomas County Fairgrounds, Colby, Kansas

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Campsites are rather primitive but adequate. Had full hook-ups. For the price a great value. We were here while the grain harvesters were camped for the harvest. They welcomed us and found a place for us near them. It is not fancy, but is adequate and a great value. Activities at the fairground are next door: stock car races while we were here. We camped at Thomas County Fairgrounds in a Motorhome.

Deer Creek Valley RV Park, Topeka, Kansas

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

Ne spacious campground near to downtown Topeka. Very much an urban campground oriented toward motorhomes, but accommodates towables also. Swimming pool is shallow but wet and helps cool one off. Sites are concrete with grass between. Very nice campground. We camped at Deer Creek Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.

Lake of the Ozarks State Park, Kaiser, Missouri

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Nice state park with water access. Large park with over 150 sites. Nice roomy sites as at most state parks. Site had electricity, but no water or sewer. Make sure water tank is full on arrival. Dump station was very clean and well-maintained. We camped at Lake of the Ozarks State Park in a Motorhome.

Older KOA park that is well-maintained. Excellent staff made stay a very positive experience. Staff was helpful in giving directions to sites downtown - Clabber Girl and Candles Holocaust museums. We camped at Terre Haute KOA in a Motorhome.

S & H Campground, Greenfield, Indiana

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Older park with lots of permanent or seasonal campers that had not moved in years. Bathroom had not been cleaned all weekend. Muddy around campsites. Caters to those who are there seasonally. Rough road to go uphill to itinerant sites. We camped at S & H Campground in a Motorhome.

Lone Pine Campsites, Colchester, Vermont

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park with large spaces on grass. Very friendly staff. Well-maintained and clean. However, be aware that the price is on the high side and added features cost extra. Want cable TV, only in certain areas for premium price. Wifi is from an outside vendor so it costs more. We camped at Lone Pine Campsites in a Motorhome.

Codorus State Park, Hanover, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

Decided to stay at Codorus rather than expensive parks closer to Gettysburg. Some sites in trees, newer sites in open grassy area. Paved RV pad. Electricity at the site. Strange no sewer or water at the site. Person at check-in booth was a little surly, but other staff helpful. Two ways to get into park: 1) older entrance was near the swimming pool and then winds up hill, 2) newer entrance comes off road at separate entrance. It does wind around a bit so road lines up with registration booth. Attended Sunday worship service with state park chaplain. Would recommend park to others. We camped at Codorus State Park in a Motorhome.

Philadelphia / West Chester KOA, Coatesville, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

Campground is a KOA Holiday level site. Facilities are top-rate. Restrooms and facilities were clean and well-equipped. Used campground as a base to explore the Philadelphia area. Campground provided good maps and tips to the local area. Took commuter rail line from Bryn Mawr to downtown Phil. Could use closer station, but trains more frequent closer to Philadelphia. Pool and recreation building was newer. Getting to the campground was a challenge - narrow roads, out in the middle of nowhere. On the positive, no freeway noise - it is out in the country with lots of horse farms. We camped at Philadelphia / West Chester KOA in a Motorhome.

Boston Minuteman Campground, Littleton, Massachusetts

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

Located in an unexpected forest setting. Thought we were in a wooded setting out west. Could tell it was a former KOA. Campground was somewhat dusty because of the dirt and trees. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Had some electrical issues because of the heat and many AC units being run. Staff sought to accommodate campers in a very positive manner. Scheduled new arrivals to lessen power load on some circuits. Campground is close to Lexington and Concord. Also visited Lowell. Could also go into Boston from the campground. Good base for exploring. We camped at Boston Minuteman Campground in a Motorhome.

Blackwoods Campground (NPS Campground), Acadia National Park, Maine

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

Spent weekend at Acadia National Park at Blackwoods CG. Wonderful, typical national park campsite. Trees and environment made you think you were in an alpine area. CG has 275 campsites with 25 pull-thrus that accommodate 35 ft. RVs. No hook-up, but that's OK - location makes up for it. Easy access to park roads and trails. Be sure to enter off of route 3. Bar Harbor can be crowded during high season. We had lunch in Northeast Harbor. Less crowds and fun places. We camped at Blackwoods Campground (NPS Campground) in a Motorhome.

Great Bay Camping, Newfields, New Hampshire

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We camped in a motorhome. This was a stop on the way to a convention so necessary to dump tanks and fill with water. Staff was very friendly. Sites were grass with little distinction between the sites. Camp is situated on river with marshy area nearby. Whole camp was wet, perhaps from recent rain. Lots of mosquitoes so hard to enjoy being outside. One of two washers was being repaired (things happen) so did laundry in town. Lots of seasonal campers. No patio or designated patio area. We camped at Great Bay Camping in a Motorhome.

Fahnestock State Park, Carmel, New York

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $19.00
Overall Rating:

State park created through donation in 1929. Facilities built by CCC's during the 1930's. Not much in the way of development or maintenance has been done since then. Restrooms are rustic though they do have flush toilets and showers without need of quarters. Most of sites for tents with poor access and tent pad area. Road through park is tight and full of potholes and broken pavement. One of worst state parks, more like unmaintained county park. Has access to beach area across highway. Lots of hiking paths and fishing with several near-by lakes. Designated trailer sites have no hook-ups and were literally sites in a field. No potable water at CG. We camped at Fahnestock State Park in a Motorhome.
