Big Meadows Campground, South Fork, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $9.00
Overall Rating:

We miss all the trees that had to be clear-cut to remove the pine beetle kill, so there isn't any shade areas now. However, satellite tv and internet 4G access is easy now. Being close to the reservoir was nice and hubby enjoyed fishing for trout.

However, the sites are full of weeds, some are noxious weeds that need to be removed. Picnic tables in bad need of repair, painting or staining. All are warped and dried out from the winters and sun. Company in charge need to increase their maintenance costs. We camped at Big Meadows Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Fishing right there at reservoir, close to Creede, an old fashion mining town. Two Rivers BBQ restaurant in South Fork is great. Rainbow Grocery has everything...their motto is "if we don't have it, you don't need it". Their homemade breakfast sausage and brats are delicious.

We will be back next July.

We had a wonderful experience here during Memorial Day weekend. The whole campground was beautifully kept with accommodating managers. We enjoyed the woodland setting. We will definitely be returning. We camped at South Fork Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Berry Springs RV Park, Georgetown, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2013 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice experience. Getting here is confusing with all the road turns. Our GPS got us there OK, but our friend's GPS led them astray. Staff were very friendly. We paid Passport America member price of $15, but the park are also Escapees RV Club members and offer their discount also. Park is filled with a lot of local workers, but they were all friendly and welcoming. Our gravel site was not level, but it was OK. The park has very pretty shrubs in area dividing the sites some flowering. We would stay here again. We camped at Berry Springs RV Park in a Motorhome.

Red River Ranch RV Resort, Thackerville, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: October, 2013 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

We originally were going to stay here a couple of days on our way south, but decided to stay a week. We paid $14 for a 50 amp site at Passport America half price rates, because the park does not allow adapters. This park is about 3 miles from the Winstar World Casino which we went to and enjoyed. Although I wouldn't call this RV park a resort, it was clean, well kept with a friendly staff. The sites were level and graveled although there are a lot of stickers or goat heads that plagued our dog. The swimming pool and hot tub were inviting and well kept. We used the laundromat and it was very clean with 8 washers and driers at $1 to wash and $1 to dry. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Red River Ranch RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Wagon Master RV Park, Sanger, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2013 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here at Passport America rates and for only one night as we were passing through the area. The owner was very friendly and attentive offering places to eat and directions to stores and gas station. The park itself is clean and well maintained with some permanent residents and some seasonal folks. The packed gravel sites were large and level. We enjoyed the western theme motif. We will stay here again. We camped at Wagon Master RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Stone Creek RV Park, Schertz, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2012 - $19.00
Overall Rating:

Excellent RV park. Has all the amenities you could ask for. Close to San Antonio with better prices. Our site was on a well graveled pull-through. Wasn't too level front to back as we had to really raise our front jacks high to get level. We would stay here again. We camped at Stone Creek RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

TranQuil Garden RV Park, Salado, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2012 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here overnight and it was fine. Campground is small but nice. It's about two miles off I-35 so is quiet. The manager met us with his golf cart and was friendly and pleasant. Used his golf cart to take us to our site. He drove through after about a hour to see if all was OK. When we left this morning, he was at the gate waving us goodbye. Campground is nothing special but it appeared neat and clean with some grass. Pull-through sites had nice cement pads for picnic table. We used our Passport America discount. We camped at TranQuil Garden RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
